Three buildings, including the ancient mosque, were found near the Sheikh Khalifa Mosque in the Al Qaeda area. They are thought to be built from 9th to 10th centuries. One of the buildings in this building is the mosque. Archaeologists have said that this mosque was built during Abbasid Khilafat.
