titleGenocide, ethnocide, ecocide and collapse
body<center>https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-mJGVCO3upbU/V7SM5vSoZkI/AAAAAAAADC8/xvfnEtzCkWYV0_dBp0Mu-pYXHQZbezwTwCLcB/s1600/1.jpg</center> The history of civilization is also a story of collapses. By tending to growth and are based on the unsustainable use of resources, all civilizations are doomed to eventual collapse. Many past civilizations have been felled for ecological disasters, whether natural, self-inflicted or a combination of both. The Hittite Empire and Egypt of the Pharaohs fell after a period of intense droughts exacerbated by climate change, while the empire civilization that was formed on Easter Island saw its end after consuming the resources they depend to survive. Although they are destined to collapse, civilizations can extend their lifespan by two ways. The first is through the expansion. If a civilization is killing the resources it needs to maintain, it can expand and find more resources to explore. Many European countries would have collapsed long ago if they had not looted the Americas, Asia and Africa. This need for expansion says a lot about the true nature of civilization. Between a civilized society and the resources it needs to stay are the people living in the regions where such resources, many of which are communities traditional living off the land (though these people are increasingly rare). Obviously, any population will leave the area it inhabits, let contaminate and destroy the area or that excess extract the resources on which it depends to live, and very few people living off the land are willing to sell it. This means that the continuity of civilization implies the destruction of entire cultures, the killing of those who fight to defend their lands and the destruction of the environment for resource extraction. In other words the continuity of civilization also implies a process of genocide, ethnocide and ecocide. Furthermore, however great the ability of a civilization to expand and gain access to new resources, we live on a finite planet, and an hour there is no where to expand. The second form of a civilization prolong their lifespan is technological innovation. New inventions can increase food production and the efficiency with which resources are used. Moreover, it was the technology that allowed civilization to become a global network of domination and extraction, production and distribution. Nevertheless, these advantages also bring a lot of problems. The first is that these increases in efficiency tend to be denied due to a phenomenon first observed in the 19th century by the English economist William Jevons, who noticed that when a technology becomes more efficient, the cost tends to decrease and its use to increase, making also increase their impact on the environment. Furthermore, if a technology depends on nonrenewable resources, any increase in its efficiency only prolongs the inevitable. There is also the issue of energy. Every society needs energy to function, and when it can no longer supply the energy to start a process of collapse. The simplest societies use primarily the stored energy in the human body in the form of calories and the energy released by burning organic matter (fire). In the context of these societies, the collection and use of these forms of energy can be easily done in a sustainable manner and within the closed loops of the bio-region that these societies inhabit, in which all resources are re-used by nature without waste. While more complex a society becomes, the more complex becomes the energy issue. A society that depends on the industrial technology can only meet its short-term energy and under a human and environmental cost trembling. Today our society is extremely dependent on oil, which is a non-renewable resource and with devastating effects on the environment. Although other forms of energy are being increasingly used is the oil that moves more than 90% of our transportation. In a world where we consume products from all over the planet, it is not to say that the lack of oil would cause disastrous effects. Moreover, much of the food we eat today are produced by industrial agriculture, which is also dependent on oil. Even if its use were not extremely detrimental to the environment, besides being one of the main engines of global warming, oil production is about to reach its peak at any time. After reaching this point, it will decline to finally cease altogether. Of course there are many other forms of energy, but none is remotely sustainable. Even the "green energy" are unsustainable and have a tremendous environmental impact. solar panels and wind turbines for example, depend on the unsustainable mining to be produced, not to mention that oil is used in its production and transportation. Nuclear power depends on the unsustainable mining of uranium, and produces nuclear waste. geothermal, hydroelectric, bio-fuels and all other solutions presented also run into insurmountable barriers. Moreover, even if we could find a solution, we would have to implement it. This implementation is not only a real logistical nightmare, but also touches on various social obstacles, economic and political. On top of this transition would take a long time we have not, as we will see more ahead. We can then conclude that the global industrial civilization is almost certainly destined to collapse. But what are the implications of this collapse? First we must emphasize that the collapse is not an event but a process that unfolds over years, decades or even centuries. The end of this process means the extinction of a civilization, its absorption by another civilization (which is not a possibility in this case) or its transformation into one or a series of simpler societies. This means that the collapse does not necessarily imply the extinction of industrial civilization across the world (unfortunately), but it will almost certainly be drastically reduced. It is not for me to make predictions about the effects of the collapse in the long run society due to the complexity of the issue and human incompetence in making this type of prediction. Nevertheless, later I try to address some future perspectives front to collapse under the view of an anarchist.

By tending to growth and are based on the unsustainable use of resources, all civilizations are doomed to eventual collapse. Many past civilizations have been felled for ecological disasters, whether natural, self-inflicted or a combination of both.\n\nThe Hittite Empire and Egypt of the Pharaohs fell after a period of intense droughts exacerbated by climate change, while the empire civilization that was formed on Easter Island saw its end after consuming the resources they depend to survive. Although they are destined to collapse, civilizations can extend their lifespan by two ways.\n\nThe first is through the expansion. If a civilization is killing the resources it needs to maintain, it can expand and find more resources to explore. Many European countries would have collapsed long ago if they had not looted the Americas, Asia and Africa.\n\nThis need for expansion says a lot about the true nature of civilization. There are some people who are impressed when they discover that many of the anarchist theorists were people of faith and lived their faith, so it was with Alexandra David-Neel who for a time was adherent of Islam and studied mysticism and occultism participating in the Madame Blavatsky study cycle and due to a spiritual crisis he lapped the world and saw before our brother monks and Tibetans have turned into a Lama. I will not tell the whole story of Alexandra because it would need tens of page what is important to know is that it just as Gandhi and Leo Tolstoy, both religious as well, had a great influence of anarchist thinkers here to Gandhi the importance of two works that we will see included on the basis of its membership one is the work of Thoreau civil disobedience and other work that he even take the chain with the times he was arrested by the army of the English crown of his friend Tolstoy's the Kingdom of God is Within you, said that this work not only influenced the thinking of Gandhi and was his bedside book as it was also important for him to cross his spiritual crisis. Gandhi as you know was born a Hindu, but adopted for his life philosophy that belong to every human religion because he understood that his so that each has the same common goal which is to reach God. I quote this posting just these three religious who have also adopted some of anarchist philosophy. More in the gym we thought of Jacques Ellul theologian Frances author of Anarchism and Christianity and writing well about the revolutionary figure of Jesus Christ, Jesus who ended up on the cross next to the bandits and all sorts of thieves him crucified is what he fought for a change in thoughtless social bases. Christ challenged the political power, economic power and religious power of his time leaving no other place unless the cross for him and the cage to the lions for his followers. Another theory that is well-known as one of the greatest geniuses of world literature Leo Tolstoy or Count Tolstoy became known worldwide for his novels War and Peace and Anna Karenina which gave Tolstoi the level of one of the most important writers of the nineteenth century. What most people do not know is that Tolstoy published over two hundred essays and some letters where he spoke among other things about his religion, the Christ, and one of his greatest struggle flags nonviolence and its roots in the doctrines of Christ, which is seen in Tolstoi the defense of a return to Christ's ideal with a peaceful convince among men who need no be, entity or anything strange himself to rule against the state, against the army and against the Christian Church that the words of Tolstoy himself is the greatest enemy against the teachings of Christ. It is seen in Tolstoi and Ellul the same thought concerning the Christian Church that generated the movement called Christianity. To Tolstoi Christian Church perverts the teaching of Christ to Ellul Christianity annihilates any possibility of understanding of these teachings, remembering one of the passages where Ellul portrays that it points to the distortion to the Christian teachings in the foundation of the Christian church by the Roman state, he says that when the church and the Christian religion were made official as the sole source of faith to the Romans end there any possibility of reconciliation of the thoughts of Christ and the ideals of church and state. Just point out that for these two theoretical one thought in common is the view that on the social perspective of anarchism and the teachings of Christ have virtually the same goals to be achieved, or in other words, when it comes to social justice anarchist thought and the teachings of Christ intertwine making them virtually equal.

titleWhen our Dreams Falter: Getting to the Heart of our own Resistance.
bodyWhat do we do when our belief in our dreams falters? How do we structure our lives when we no longer believe that dreaming matters? Several years ago I found myself reading Paulo Coelho’s The Alchemist. As I followed the story, I thought about dreams. For years, I had believed that some people could afford to dream, while the rest of us could afford only to work and pay bills and get by. We could only live paycheck to paycheck, and dreaming was for people with disposable income or the free time to make things happen. As a child, my natural tendency was to write. I crafted poems, short stories, articles for a school paper and even short plays. I was Jo from Little Women, a big dreamer, wild and exuberant about life. And then I got older. My life experience was working my way through college with a full-time job while still having to amass student loans to make up what I couldn’t earn, and then working my way through grad school the same way. By the time I got out of grad school at 27, I was tired. I had stopped dreaming somewhere in my undergrad years, and instead chose what I thought would be a more realistic career path. I followed a “sensible” path, choosing an education and a career that might allow me a flexible schedule for the children I planned to add to my family. Well, we all know that life rarely goes according to plan, no matter how meticulously we plan it. We can fast-forward to my choice to leave the career path I’d chosen, a decision that was heart-breaking at the time. We can even fast forward past having two children and then my decision to file for divorce while they were both still in diapers. Somewhere during all of this emotional upheaval and all the scary life changes, something broke in me. And the light got in. How could I recover my own dreams when I couldn’t see my way forward or even imagine a semblance of a normal life? I felt that I had no choice. My dreams seemed to have sought me out in this broken place, and I felt like they were demanding my attention again, now that I had stopped trying to follow my carefully laid out life plan. Suddenly, I had lines of a story running through my head, refusing to relent until they were written down. I began scrawling lines across the page while my bath grew cold, one of the only times I had to myself in a day spent taking care of children and trying to figure out how to support the three of us with little income. My dreams were reborn out of my struggles. “Tell your heart that the fear of suffering is worse than the suffering itself. And that no heart has ever suffered when it goes in search of its dreams, because every second of the search is a second’s encounter with God and with eternity.” ~ Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist From this experience, I’ve come to believe in Paulo Coelho’s vision of dreams. Dreams aren’t just for those of us who have the time and money to dedicate to them. Dreams are, in fact, for all of us. Most of us just become too busy with doing and with following our own life plans that we forget to be mindful of the lives we’re choosing to live. We forget to look out for the signs that tell us when we’re going down the wrong path or when the right one is just ahead. Most of us are relentless in maintaining a status quo, and we’ve forgotten the importance of dreams. I too had lost my way and neglected my dreams. And I am eternally grateful that they came back to me. My dreams continue to grow beyond my wildest imaginings. I’ve stopped limiting them and instead spend time letting them grow as wild and spectacular as they desire. I feel that our dreams will surely manifest when we allow ourselves to dream big and to do whatever it takes along the course of our dreams to bring them into being. Sometimes this will require deep soul searching where we’re required to remove the inner blocks to our way forward. We may be required to investigate our own belief systems, weeding out the ones that are holding us back. We may even be required to delve into our childhood—our upbringing—and remove all of the messages that may have worked their way into our subconscious to hold us back. We may be required to systematically work through our choices to see how our actions have impacted the lives we’re leading so that we may learn to make new choices along the path of our dreams. It is certainly a pilgrimage and one that requires commitment, dedication and sacrifice to achieve our vision. When our dreams falter, and we no longer believe, it becomes especially important to mine the depths of our souls for the obstacles we’ve placed in our own way. Oftentimes, the ego wants us to stay mired in a place of regret or sadness; it wants us to hold on to our old stories, our victim mentalities, our views of ourselves as being one particular thing. Also, many of the people in our lives may champion the idea that we should just follow the conventional path. They may feel threatened by dreamers, as their dreams have fallen by the wayside. Perhaps they do not want to be challenged to pursue those dreams. At the heart of our own resistance is a truth that is waiting to be revealed, if only we are brave enough to go in search of it. When we have courage and address our challenges, we can begin to remove the obstacles to our dreams. When our dreams falter, the universe is letting us know that we have work to do in order to move forward in search of our destiny. This is a time to uncover unhealthy attitudes and blocks to our progress. It may also be a signal that we need to move in a different direction in order to achieve our dreams. It becomes an opportunity to pause and reflect and to take the time to listen to our own souls and to the universe around us.

title4 steps to creating your own website!
body<html> <p>Having your own blog or website is one of the best kept secrets of impressing a potential employer. STS founder, Owen, shows you how to set one up for yourself.</p> <p><br></p> <p>I have been a website developer for over and I go through the process of setting up websites all the time. With this experience I have been able to learn the best methods and source the best prices out there.</p> <p><br></p> <p>Today setting up your online pad is as easy and as affordable as ever. If you follow my own dead easy simple steps you can be up and running easily within 30 minutes for less than £30.</p> <p><br></p> <p>I have gone through the steps below with many graduate friends, and they have all benefited from an employer’s raised eyebrows when applying for jobs. Most of the sites don’t even have much on them, the domain name or email address alone can be enough to impress.</p> <p><br></p> <p>Aside from actually landing a great job, setting up your own website will be the best thing you have done for a long time.</p> <p><br></p> <p>So here’s the key to the best kept secret most students and graduates have not even thought of…</p> <p><br></p> <p>&nbsp; The core ingredients you will need are a <strong>domain name</strong> (ie. myname.co.uk), an <strong>email address</strong> (easy to set up with your domain name registrar), a <strong>website host</strong> (someone who stores your website’s files on a server) and optionally a free platform called <a href="http://www.wordpress.org/">WordPress</a> (helps you manage your website without having to know any HTML etc). &nbsp;</p> <ol> <li>Choosing and registering a domain name<br> As you probably know there are a range of domain name extensions &nbsp;available. The most common for the UK are .com and .co.uk. It’s your &nbsp;choice which you go for, assuming that the domain name you want is still &nbsp;available. .com domain name<br> <strong>Cheapest Registrar: </strong><a href="http://www.savethestudent.org/out/godaddyoffer">GoDaddy.com</a><br> <a href="http://www.savethestudent.org/out/godaddyoffer"> </a><strong>Price:</strong> ~£7.35 per year<br> <strong>Notes: </strong>Select GBP from top right to pay in £ .co.uk domain name<br> <strong>Cheapest Registrar: </strong><a href="http://www.savethestudent.org/out/123reg">123-Reg.co.uk</a><br> <strong> Price:</strong> ~£2.99 per year<br> <strong> Notes: </strong>Minimum 2 years, exc. VAT</li> <li>Setting up your personalised email address<br> The easiest way to create your email address under your new domain name is to do it with your registrar from step 1. Once you login there will be an option to set up email addresses &nbsp;which you can then hook up with your usual email client (eg. Hotmail, &nbsp;GMail, Outlook). There are loads of guides out there on doing this, so I’ll leave this to Google for now.</li> <li>Website hosting<br> To upload content onto your domain name you will need a bit of server &nbsp;space (just like storing files on your computer). There are hundreds of &nbsp;web hosts out there now, and you could spend forever looking. The host I go with for most of my websites is <a href="http://www.savethestudent.org/out/godaddyhosting">GoDaddy</a> to keep things simple (and cheap!) but most domain registrars (such as <a href="http://www.savethestudent.org/out/123reg">123-reg</a>) now offer hosting too. <strong>Top website host: </strong><a href="http://www.savethestudent.org/out/godaddyhosting"><strong>GoDaddy</strong></a> <strong>Price:</strong> From £2.99 per month You will then just need to point your domain name to the server by &nbsp;setting the “Nameservers”, which will be provided by your web host. If &nbsp;you need any help in getting things sorted, never hesitate to get in &nbsp;touch with the hosts as their support teams are usually very good.</li> <li>Installing WordPress<br> Technically &nbsp;your online presence is secured, but if anyone goes to www.yoursite.com &nbsp;there won’t be much to see! The quickest way to get something on the &nbsp;site is to install the incredibly popular and free piece of kit called &nbsp;WordPress. If you have gone with <a href="http://www.savethestudent.org/out/godaddyhosting">GoDaddy</a> they have a very simple system in place which allows you to install WordPress through them. Otherwise it is a case of downloading <a href="http://www.wordpress.org/">WordPress</a>, unzipping the files and uploading it to your server via a FTP client (I use <a href="http://www.filezilla-project.org/download.php">FileZilla</a>). STS founder, Owen, shows you how to set one up for yourself.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>I have been a website developer for over and I go through the process of setting up websites all the time. With this experience I have been able to learn the best methods and source the best prices out there.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Today setting up your online pad is as easy and as affordable as ever. If you follow my own dead easy simple steps you can be up and running easily within 30 minutes for less than £30.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>I have gone through the steps below with many graduate friends, and they have all benefited from an employer’s raised eyebrows when applying for jobs. Most of the sites don’t even have much on them, the domain name or email address alone can be enough to impress.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Aside from actually landing a great job, setting up your own website will be the best thing you have done for a long time.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>So here’s the key to the best kept secret most students and graduates have not even thought of…</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>&nbsp;The core ingredients you will need are a <strong>domain name</strong> (ie. myname.co.uk), an <strong>email address</strong> (easy to set up with your domain name registrar), a <strong>website host</strong> (someone who stores your website’s files on a server) and optionally a free platform called <a href=\"http://www.wordpress.org/\">WordPress</a> (helps you manage your website without having to know any HTML etc). &nbsp;</p>\n<ol>\n <li>Choosing and registering a domain name<br>\n As you probably know there are a range of domain name extensions &nbsp;available. The most common for the UK are .com and .co.uk. It’s your &nbsp;choice which you go for, assuming that the domain name you want is still &nbsp;available. .com domain name<br>\n <strong>Cheapest Registrar: </strong><a href=\"http://www.savethestudent.org/out/godaddyoffer\">GoDaddy.com</a><br>\n<a href=\"http://www.savethestudent.org/out/godaddyoffer\"> </a><strong>Price:</strong> ~£7.35 per year<br>\n <strong>Notes: </strong>Select GBP from top right to pay in £ .co.uk domain name<br>\n <strong>Cheapest Registrar: </strong><a href=\"http://www.savethestudent.org/out/123reg\">123-Reg.co.uk</a><br>\n<strong> Price:</strong> ~£2.99 per year<br>\n<strong> Notes: </strong>Minimum 2 years, exc. VAT</li>\n <li>Setting up your personalised email address<br>\n The easiest way to create your email address under your new domain name is to do it with your registrar from step 1. Once you login there will be an option to set up email addresses &nbsp;which you can then hook up with your usual email client (eg. Hotmail, &nbsp;GMail, Outlook). There are loads of guides out there on doing this, so I’ll leave this to Google for now.</li>\n <li>Website hosting<br>\n To upload content onto your domain name you will need a bit of server &nbsp;space (just like storing files on your computer). There are hundreds of &nbsp;web hosts out there now, and you could spend forever looking. The host I go with for most of my websites is <a href=\"http://www.savethestudent.org/out/godaddyhosting\">GoDaddy</a> to keep things simple (and cheap!) but most domain registrars (such as <a href=\"http://www.savethestudent.org/out/123reg\">123-reg</a>) now offer hosting too. <strong>Top website host: </strong><a href=\"http://www.savethestudent.org/out/godaddyhosting\"><strong>GoDaddy</strong></a> <strong>Price:</strong> From £2.99 per month You will then just need to point your domain name to the server by &nbsp;setting the “Nameservers”, which will be provided by your web host. If &nbsp;you need any help in getting things sorted, never hesitate to get in &nbsp;touch with the hosts as their support teams are usually very good.</li>\n <li>Installing WordPress<br>\n Technically &nbsp;your online presence is secured, but if anyone goes to www.yoursite.com &nbsp;there won’t be much to see! The quickest way to get something on the &nbsp;site is to install the incredibly popular and free piece of kit called &nbsp;WordPress. If you have gone with <a href=\"http://www.savethestudent.org/out/godaddyhosting\">GoDaddy</a> they have a very simple system in place which allows you to install WordPress through them. Otherwise it is a case of downloading <a href=\"http://www.wordpress.org/\">WordPress</a>, unzipping the files and uploading it to your server via a FTP client (I use <a href=\"http://www.filezilla-project.org/download.php\">FileZilla</a>). Again, there’s loads of stuff on this process, <a href=\"http://codex.wordpress.org/Installing_WordPress\">WordPress Docs</a> are a great start.</li>\n</ol>\n<p>&nbsp;Once you’ve set up your site there’s a whole world of opportunities to &nbsp;grow your website and even make some money from it. In the coming weeks I &nbsp;will be working on guides teaching you how to apply themes to your &nbsp;WordPress site and how to go about monetising what you’re doing online. &nbsp;</p>\n</html>",

titleQuestion: How likely is a Bitcoin Shutdown via overloading the network?
body<html> <p>&nbsp;Hey guys, I was wondering: What if some government or some bank or some rich &nbsp;guy got 2 bitcoin wallets and then just spammed millions of transactions &nbsp;(or however many) per seconds from one to the other and vice versa? I &nbsp;know the fees would quickly rise, but that could get paid, if you have &nbsp;that kinda money. Couldn't the whole bitcoin network then be shut down &nbsp;(or rather: jammed up) so that nobody could send or receive bitcoins. Is &nbsp;there some mechanism that prevents that? Thank you for the info! :) <br> &nbsp;</p> </html>

titleBitcoin Lending - Improve Your Buy & Hold Strategy
body<html> <p>&nbsp;Hello! Since many people here just buy Bitcoin (or any other Altcoin) &nbsp;and hold it for ages, I thought I will show you an improvement to this &nbsp;strategy. &nbsp;Basically, on pretty much every crypto exchange you are able to lend &nbsp;your coin to margin traders. For lending it, you get a % each day you &nbsp;have lend it. This percent depends on the demand and the coin - normally &nbsp;between 3-8% per year. No risk, because the losses of the borrower are &nbsp;limited to the value lend.&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Stuff to read/watch</strong>: &nbsp;</p> <ul> <li>A full guide/explanation on <a href="https://www.coinstaker.com/bitcoin-finance/lending-on-exchanges/">Exchange Lending</a> can be found on our page.</li> <li>A <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s4qaIel8GFI">step-by-step video</a> on lending on the poloniex exchange.</li> </ul> </html>
