bodyThank you so much for sharing this amazing post with us! Have you heard about Partiko? It’s a really convenient mobile app for Steem! With Partiko, you can easily see what’s going on in the Steem community, make posts and comments (no beneficiary cut forever!), and always stayed connected with your followers via push notification! Partiko also rewards you with Partiko Points (3000 Partiko Point bonus when you first use it!), and Partiko Points can be converted into Steem tokens. You can earn Partiko Points easily by making posts and comments using Partiko. We also noticed that your Steem Power is low. We will be very happy to delegate 15 Steem Power to you once you have made a post using Partiko! With more Steem Power, you can make more posts and comments, and earn more rewards! If that all sounds interesting, you can: - Download Partiko Android at [Google Play](http://bit.ly/2SRFIta) - Or Download Partiko iOS on the [App Store](https://apple.co/2PcXkSd) Thank you so much for reading this message!

body
These last days, I read some tweets from critics of US candidate, Tulsi Gabbard, such as Sameera Khan (a correspondent from RT with Pakistani Muslim roots) who seems to have a serious grudge against her.

The reason? Her alleged support for Hindu nationalists in India. I won't make any commentary for this, but that is clear is that it be revealing of tensions in South Asia that exist between Hindus, Muslims and other minorities in this region of Asia.

Understanding the foreign policy of India

For those who would want to know the basis of Indian foreign policy, I can say that India is a member of Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), a group of states, mainly from Third World, dedicated to "representing the interests and aspirations of developing countries". The movement advocates especially "international cooperation, multilateralism, and national self-determination". This movement is, thus, the antithesis of western values that promote the so-called "humanitarian intervention" around the world.

India is not France, the United Kingdom or the United States, usually respects the sovereignty of other countries, and will always try to maintain peaceful relations with them. If tensions arise between India and another country, it is very probable that blame can be rejected on this another country rather than India. India can have complicated relations with some countries, such as Iran and North Korea, that have strong relations with Pakistan, but won't seek to broke relations with any country only for human rights violations, unless in extreme cases, such as South Africa during apartheid, Uganda during Idi Amin reign or Afghanistan during Taliban reign.

India is a country that has traditional strategic partners such as Russia, Japan, the United States, and Israel, but has also good relations with China, Iran, Syria, Brazil and most countries around the world. bodyI've not traveled/lived in Europe so can't say anything about life there. Europeans I've met in other places, including America, have tended to be some of the most open-minded, ethnically inclusive people I've ever known, but then that group is self-selecting for traveling outside Europe when I meet them! And also I think things change over time. One decade can have a very different feel than another, depending on what's happening in the world. But I will credit America for at least trying to be better on these issues. Until the current president we had a national ideal of moving beyond tribalism and divisiveness. Things have taken a step back, but it is likely to be corrected by impeachment. Even if the impeachment process fails, it will send a clear signal to our youth that just because someone rises to great power, that does not mean they are a great person nor that they should be emulated. We generally aim high here in America, and are an idealistic nation. That's probably the one good thing we bring to the world. Sorry for all the bombs.

bodyAmericans have their faults, especially with their aggressive unilateral foreign policy, but I noticed myself that they were much less racist and xenophobic than Europeans. It's probably because their culture favors personal achievement for anyone while that in Europe, people favor rather belonging to an ethnicity, a religion, and a language, and want to stigmatize all those who don't adhere to a common culture and common values. It's probably for this reason that in the United States, we have few chances to find anyone who would be favorable to "zero immigration" and "remigration" like in France, Italy or anywhere in Europe, and even most hard-rightist Americans oppose illegal immigration, but favor legal immigration. It's just unfortunate that many Europeans don't want to distinguish those who come in Europe in order to rise on the social scale and others who would want to "invade and colonize fatherland and impose the Great Replacement".

bodyHello Caitlin, What I know is that there are some fanatic Clinton supporters for who criticism of US imperialism and wars around the world is taboo because it would "play into the hands of Trump, far-right and authoritarians", and when other left-wingers dare to break this taboo, these latters are then harassed and threatened by those who accept only Atlanticist well-thinking and political correctness. For me, these fools are not leftists, but rather radical centrists since they constantly put on the same level left politics and right politics while that left-wing and right-wing have very little in common. They usually campaign for progressive causes except when it's a question of denouncing this injunction to patriotism and unconditional allegiance to our authoritarian and warmongering leaders. These fools only put sticks in the wheels to real left-wingers who form the greatest force against all forms of racism, sexism, fascism and xenophobia.

body
Recently, Microsoft has planned to recast the Edge Browser to adopt the Chromium web engine, that was not a good new for Firefox now that Google will increase its dominance on the internet. The disappointment of Firefox is understandable since it's rather hazardous to let only one corporation taking the entire control over internet infrastructure, that, moreover, has a poor reputation in terms of respect of privacy and freedom of speech. I think that any conscientious people would be worried to learn that Mozilla will weaken for the benefit of Google.

We know that Chrome is the most popular web browser and dominates more than half of the market, but that Firefox provides more services to help to protect our privacy on the web. But in this case, why choosing Chrome instead of Firefox?

The fact is that if Firefox is better than Chrome in privacy, Chrome is, however, advantaged since most websites are more compatible with Chrome than with Firefox. Thus, Chrome is much better for developers than Firefox. Chrome is also better than Firefox for gamers since most game companies prefer working with Chrome than with Firefox.

We have to know that if most people daily use Chrome, those who are among my circle of friends on Twitter use, however, Firefox. Thus, Chrome is better for everyday consumers while that Firefox is better for activists for privacy and digital rights.

The reason why Chrome is the most popular web browser is the same reason why Disney is the most popular entertainment company while that political content is strictly prohibited on Disney-owned films and TV programs. In reality, if there are some conscientious people, these persons are, however, a tiny minority on the entire population. The rest of the population is especially composed of consumers easily seduced by the products of big companies who could with difficulty do without dominant web services. These people generally prefer to stay out of politics and sensitive topics, that could explain why they are always happy despite the decline of our digital rights and humanitarian disasters everywhere in the world. It's the reason why a protest content (i.e. punk music, anti-war movies, etc.) could with difficult access to the mainstream.

Doing without dominant web services require much ethics and consciousness about the rise of authoritarian politics, mass surveillance, the decline of our digital rights, etc. If you don't want to be dependent on Google, you will have to do without YouTube, its great catalog of films and free music and all meme and parody videos.

To summarize, if Firefox is less popular than Chrome, it's because it fails to attract people that are less affected by privacy and digital rights issues. It's unfortunate because it won't help to progress our humanity.

However, the facts demonstrated that in order to progress humanity, conscientious people must not belong to the mainstream, but instead bet other persons that share their common values and interests. Our humanitarian campaign will never concern the mainstream (composed of consumers who want first of all privilege their daily life and their family), but if some important millions of people around the world join us, we can create an important balance of power with dominant forces that lead our societies.

Posted from my blog with SteemPress : http://tripress-social.com/2018/12/12/why-most-people-prefer-chrome-despite-the-fact-that-firefox-has-better-ethics/

Chrome is also better than Firefox for gamers since most game companies prefer working with Chrome than with Firefox.
\n
We have to know that if most people daily use Chrome, those who are among my circle of friends on Twitter use, however, Firefox. Thus, Chrome is better for everyday consumers while that Firefox is better for activists for privacy and digital rights.
\n

\n
Doing without dominant web services require much ethics and consciousness about the rise of authoritarian politics, mass surveillance, the decline of our digital rights, etc. If you don't want to be dependent on Google, you will have to do without YouTube, its great catalog of films and free music and all meme and parody videos.
\n
To summarize, if Firefox is less popular than Chrome, it's because it fails to attract people that are less affected by privacy and digital rights issues. It's unfortunate because it won't help to progress our humanity.
\n
However, the facts demonstrated that in order to progress humanity, conscientious people must not belong to the mainstream, but instead bet other persons that share their common values and interests. Our humanitarian campaign will never concern the mainstream (composed of consumers who want first of all privilege their daily life and their family), but if some important millions of people around the world join us, we can create an important balance of power with dominant forces that lead our societies.

\n

Posted from my blog with SteemPress : http://tripress-social.com/2018/12/12/why-most-people-prefer-chrome-despite-the-fact-that-firefox-has-better-ethics/

      ",

body
Hi,

I write this post because I recently installed ProtonVPN and create an account in this service.

For those who don't know what is a VPN (virtual private network), it's a system that links distant computers, that allows you to use an IP address from another server. The VPN is useful for internet users who want to evade censorship and mass surveillance in countries lead by authoritarian regimes.

Why use ProtonVPN?

You need to know that ProtonVPN is just one of several VPN services that exist around the world. However, there are several differences between ProtonVPN and some other VPN services, such as Avast SecureLine VPN, a VPN service developed by Avast.

Avast is an antivirus logiciel used to repair computers vulnerable to computer attacks, especially those that operate under Windows Operating System. Avast provides several affiliated services, such as its own web browser, and its VPN service.

However, the Avast-owned VPN service, Avast SecureLine VPN, unlike ProtonVPN, doesn't mask IP addresses, doesn't support anonymous payment methods, doesn't accept bitcoin (or any other cryptocurrency) and is not available for Linux users. In other words, I recommend you to prefer ProtonVPN over Avast SecureLine VPN. You may read this page to check comparisons between ProtonVPN and Avast SecureLine VPN.

How use ProtonVPN?

Before downloading ProtonVPN, you will need to create a ProtonVPN account. First, you will have to choose between several plans. There is a Free plan, but it is available only in Japan, the Netherlands and the United States, and you won't like slowness associated with the Free plan. You may then choose between Basic and Plus plans (all paid plans). I recommend you to choose the Plus plan because this plan provides more security in comparison with the Basic plan. You will have the choice between paid monthly or yearly. You may also choose between USD, Eur or CHF currency. Then, you may choose between using your own email address or create a ProtonVPN by using your ProtonMail account.

Once you have created your VPN account, you will have to download ProtonVPN on your computer (or your smartphone since ProtonVPN is available for Android). bodyHello, I understand your concern about difficults for each individual to choose the country in which it would want to install. The problem is that only rich people with a qualified job can freely change of country and nationality. I understand this because I'm a lambda young with a very low income and that I always dreamed of live Canada for Europe, but I was confronted by some nationalist fools that don't accept that I change of country. But now, with rise of far right movements everywhere in Europe and North America, it could be even more difficult for the lambda citizen to leave his/her country if he/she is not happy where he/she lives. The nationalist ideology oppresses all peoples by impose them the allegeance for their own country, and with rise of far right, it could be more difficult for us all to refuse to support our country if it engages a war against another country. Nationalism naturally favors war between nations and peoples and it's why world citizens need to unite in order to fight it.

bodyWhile big tech companies are accused of sharing our personal data with advertisers and having let "fake news" influence Brexit results and general elections and referendums in United States and Europe, an increasing number of western leaders are determined to regulate the web (especially of non-western influences), at the risk of undermining our free speech, our digital rights and our open internet. Since this year, several laws have been adopted or will be adopted in order to restrict our free speech. In France, the Macron government want to ban "fake news" in order to fight "manipulation of information by foreign media". In Denmark, a future law could propose several years in prison for openly supporting Russia. Even UK could fine social media for "fake news". And it's just some of several examples of breaches of our digital rights. All of this resulted in increasing censorship on Facebook, YouTube and Twitter. While some alt-right activists have spread conspiracy theories on alleged "conservative censorship" on main social media, some right-wing figures want to adopt a legislation that would require that big social media apply First Amendment on their services, that could prevent them to repress far-right activists. A such law could be interesting theorically, but pratically, it couldn't resolve problems of targeted harassment and increasing censorship since proponents of a such law are convinced that there would be a biais against conservatives, that is false because progressive and anti-war activists are also censored. In reality, this law could especially prevent big tech companies to regulate hate speech and targeted harassment from alt-right activists against feminists and so-called "Social Justice Warriors", but not to censor criticism of Israel since several US states have some laws restricting boycott of Israeli products. We tend to think that because big tech companies don't apply First Amendment, they would arbitrarily censor free speech of political dissidents, but it's false, because these tech companies are under pression of governements that get increasingly authoritarian and reactionary, these governements that don't accept the decline of traditional press for the benefit of social media. In reality, big tech companies censor "fake news" because they fear to being regulated by our governements if they don't do it. Thus, mainmise of big tech companies by nationalist governements won't resolve all problems of breaching of open internet and our digital rights. We need to know that if American companies share our personal data with NSA, it's because they are constrained to do it, the controversy about DuckDuckGo campaign for privacy demonstrates it. And now, EU leaders want to adopt the disastrous article 13 about copyright that will seriously damage the internet as we know it, and this time, it's too much for big tech compagnies such as Google and YouTube that have threatened to close their services in Europe. In addition, US governement want to force GAFA to develop military technologies, that GAFA refuse to do it since they are sufficient ethics to recognize the evils of a such project. The reality is that it's not big corporations, but big governements that threat our free speech and open internet. If we want to protect our digital rights, we need to regulate big governements in order to prevent them to restrict our basic rights and provoke war around the world. It's that we abusively call the "digital far west", but the reality is that if GAFA have sufficient ethics, they could self-regulate themselves instead of being regulated by our corrupted governements. Tim Berners-Lee, the founder of WorldWideWeb, has recently launched the "Contract for the web" campaign in order to protect our web, so that we could let the private corporations regulate the web because they could provide an alternative to governemental policies that favor repression of civil rights and wars between nations and peoples.

Posted from my blog with SteemPress : http://tripress-social.com/2018/11/28/would-it-be-so-dramatic-to-live-in-digital-far-west/
