En medio del conjunto de obreros que saluda al líder nazi destaca un hombre de brazos cruzados, en actitud de desafío.\nLa imagen se ha vuelto un símbolo de la objeción de conciencia y de la desobediencia pacífica. En ella se retrata la determinación individual de disentir, aunque las circunstancias no permitan un rechazo abierto y más activo.\nLa historia del hombre de la foto no se conoció hasta 1991, cuando una de sus hijas logró identificarlo como <b>August Landmesser</b>, y se pudo saber qué motivó ese acto de desobediencia.\n\nAugust Landmesser nació en 1910, y para 1936 era trabajador de los astilleros Blohm und Voss. Estuvo afiliado al partido nazi (NSDAP) entre 1931 y 1935, presumiblemente para mejorar sus posibilidades de obtener empleo ya que era casi un requisito indispensable, pero se separó de la militancia por oponerse a la Ley para la Protección de la Sangre y el Honor Alemanes. Para el momento en que se tomó la foto, Landmesser era señalado de violar esa ley por haber desposado y tener hijos con una mujer de ascendencia judía, Irma Eckler.\nEn 1937 fue detenido cuando intentaba escapar hacia Dinamarca y fue condenado por <i>Rassenschande</i>, que se entendía como un crimen contra la pureza de la raza aria.\nLa absolución de Landmesser dependía de que rompiese toda relación con su esposa e hijas, a lo que se negó. La familia fue separada, los padres encarcelados y una de las niñas puesta en adopción. Irma Eckler habría muerto en el campo de concentración de Ravensbrück, mientras August era liberado para ser “reeducado”, y fue forzado trabajar en una fábrica de coches para el ejercito. Seguidamente le obligaron a alistarse en el I Batallón de libertad condicional “999” y enviado a combatir.\nAugust Landmesser fue dado por muerto oficialmente como combatiente, sin que se sepa con certeza nada de él o de su muerte.\n\n<blockquote><center>“Nadie debe obedecer a aquel que no merece mandar”</center>\nMarco Tulio Cicerón</blockquote>\n\nLa fotografía fue parte de las operaciones psicológicas de los aliados, que lanzaban copias de la imagen sobre Alemania invitando a seguir el ejemplo del hombre de la foto. En medio del conjunto de obreros que saluda al líder nazi destaca un hombre de brazos cruzados, en actitud de desafío.\nLa imagen se ha vuelto un símbolo de la objeción de conciencia y de la desobediencia pacífica. En ella se retrata la determinación individual de disentir, aunque las circunstancias no permitan un rechazo abierto y más activo.\nLa historia del hombre de la foto no se conoció hasta 1991, cuando una de sus hijas logró identificarlo como <b>August Landmesser</b>, y se pudo saber qué motivó ese acto de desobediencia.\n\nAugust Landmesser nació en 1910, y para 1936 era trabajador de los astilleros Blohm und Voss. Estuvo afiliado al partido nazi (NSDAP) entre 1931 y 1935, presumiblemente para mejorar sus posibilidades de obtener empleo ya que era casi un requisito indispensable, pero se separó de la militancia por oponerse a la Ley para la Protección de la Sangre y el Honor Alemanes. Para el momento en que se tomó la foto, Landmesser era señalado de violar esa ley por haber desposado y tener hijos con una mujer de ascendencia judía, Irma Eckler.\nEn 1937 fue detenido cuando intentaba escapar hacia Dinamarca y fue condenado por <i>Rassenschande</i>, que se entendía como un crimen contra la pureza de la raza aria.\nLa absolución de Landmesser dependía de que rompiese toda relación con su esposa e hijas, a lo que se negó. La familia fue separada, los padres encarcelados y una de las niñas puesta en adopción. Irma Eckler habría muerto en el campo de concentración de Ravensbrück, mientras August era liberado para ser “reeducado”, y fue forzado trabajar en una fábrica de coches para el ejercito. Seguidamente le obligaron a alistarse en el I Batallón de libertad condicional “999” y enviado a combatir.\nAugust Landmesser fue dado por muerto oficialmente como combatiente, sin que se sepa con certeza nada de él o de su muerte.\n\n<blockquote><center>“Nadie debe obedecer a aquel que no merece mandar”</center>\nMarco Tulio Cicerón</blockquote>\n\nLa fotografía fue parte de las operaciones psicológicas de los aliados, que lanzaban copias de la imagen sobre Alemania invitando a seguir el ejemplo del hombre de la foto.
