DPR memiliki tiga tugas pokok yaitu : Pengawasan, legeslasi dan budgeting/anggaran. Nah, seminggu terakhir DPR RI disoroti berbagai media karena merevisi UU MD3 yang isinya dianggap melemahkan demokrasi di Indonesia. Beberapa pakar hukum di Indonesia pun angkat bicara dan tidak sedikit yang kontra dengan revisi UU MD3 tersebut. pasal 122 huruf k UU MD3 menyebutkan, "MKD bertugas mengambil langkah hukum dan atau langkah lain terhadap orang perseorangan, kelompok orang atau badan hukum yang merendahkan kehormatan DPR dan anggota DPR". Melalui pasal ini parlemen sangat mungkin menafsirkan laporan orang terhadap anggota DPR RI yang diduga melakukan perbuatan menyimpang/melanggar hukum seperti korupsi sebagai salah satu bentuk merendahkan lembaga tersebut. terlebih pasal 122 huruf k UU MD3 itu dinilai mengancam masyarakat. DPR memiliki tiga tugas pokok yaitu : Pengawasan, legeslasi dan budgeting/anggaran.\nNah, seminggu terakhir DPR RI disoroti berbagai media karena merevisi UU MD3 yang isinya dianggap melemahkan demokrasi di Indonesia. Beberapa pakar hukum di Indonesia pun angkat bicara dan tidak sedikit yang kontra dengan revisi UU MD3 tersebut. \npasal 122 huruf k UU MD3 menyebutkan, \"MKD bertugas mengambil langkah hukum dan atau langkah lain terhadap orang perseorangan, kelompok orang atau badan hukum yang merendahkan kehormatan DPR dan anggota DPR\". Melalui pasal ini parlemen sangat mungkin menafsirkan laporan orang terhadap anggota DPR RI yang diduga  melakukan perbuatan menyimpang/melanggar hukum seperti korupsi sebagai salah satu bentuk merendahkan lembaga tersebut.\nterlebih pasal 122 huruf k UU MD3 itu dinilai mengancam masyarakat. Seharusnya mereka juga melakukan otokritik terhadap lembaganya terlebih dahulu.\nIndonesia hari ini telah maju pasal ini tidak relevan lagi di jaman moderen dan era demokrasi.  Menghina adalah delik yang paling digunakan oleh raja-raja atau diktator zaman dahulu untuk menopang kewibawaan agar orang tidak banyak bertanya tentang perilaku mereka yang tiran dan korup.
