bodyMan, you guys are on it! Some people wait for dreams to happen and some people make dreams happen. It looks like you aren’t waiting for anything! Good for you. You’re lucky to have your whole family working toward the same goal. Downsizing... That’s something we’re going to have to do whether we move soon or not. I hope when the time comes I’m as willing and positive about it as you are! Thank you so much for sharing. I’m looking forward to your next update.

body![](https://steemitimages.com/DQmZNBooTgEtPVBmekJEFkZThdQYE45oKRV2g1TA5s7422a/image.png) I believe intuition is real based on life experience. When I was a young child I would lie in my bed at night and think about questions or problems I had, before falling asleep. While asleep, I would often times dream "the answer" to my situation and would immediately know it upon waking. I never gave these answers a second thought, I just followed what I dreamed, and I was never led astray. It was always the right thing to do. I distinctly remember becoming "aware" of this in middle school, until then it had always just been there and a part of me. I had not questioned it. I was now mature enough that I could consciously and logically look at the entire process. Logically, it did not make sense. How could my dreams give me the answers to lifes problems? Logically I could not prove how the answers could be correct or even formed. Feeling like it was abnormal, I wanted to talk to someone about it but it was the late 1980's and I thought people would think I was weird or crazy. Twilight, Supernatural, and Game of Thrones were a couple decades away. Telling people you gave youself answers in your dreams seemed different and weird. It definitely was not cool to be different! I did not know about or understand intuition. ![](https://steemitimages.com/DQmR99ZtJppbGRLNzQUnzsnDjeZqMYNH7w92Bhn9YyXzCR3/image.png) Intuition is defined as something that a person knows or considers likely from instinct (instinctive). It is described as a feeling rather than conscious reasoning. Therefore being intuitive is having the ability to know or understand things without any proof , evidence or logical reasoning. With intuition the conscious mind thinks or plants the seed, the subconscious is subjective , il-logical and non-analytical. It cannot tell the difference between real or imagined. The subconscious does not reason independently nor does it think. The Unconscious mind is where the intuition is stored; along with automatic skills and an engine for processing information. A "gut feeling" is what intuition is often times referred to as. Our Conscious mind plants the seed (problem), the Subconscious believes it is "real" thinking only in the present and the Unconscious mind works out the problem. When we are sleeping the Conscious mind sleeps as well but the Subconscious stays awake, it is also where all of our past experiences and beliefs are stored. The Unconscious mind is where most of the work gets done and it is the storage of automatic skills, intuition and an engine for information processing. The Subconscious is the link between the Unconscious and the Conscious mind. When we are sleeping our Subconscious is still acting as the middle guy. As the Unconscious mind processes the problem it gives the answer(s) to the Subconscious mind during our sleep. When we awake the Subconscious mind has passed it to the Conscious mind through the dream we remember upon wakening. The Subconscious mind believes it to be true so it passes it to the Conscious mind as such. ![](https://steemitimages.com/DQmRUnee4D3XKaBmLmJ9ALpHqKbCYDbzQ3p3ba5YxNK3Nd4/image.png) I do not have or know the scientific data, studies or research to back up my belief, but my Subconscious mind (dreams) and intuition (Unconscious mind) are able to give me (Conscious mind) the answers I need. Answers do not always come at once, especially for complicated problems but I do get them in the entirety eventually. I am able to use this same technique to help others I am connected to (or become connected to) in some way. Sadly, sometimes the answers are questioned, broken apart with logic and discarded. Seeing the repercussions of that choice can be heart wrenching. ![](https://steemitimages.com/DQmZveY3w5NSJC41nhM7DVnBdsqRpotzdKsCTWoq7WZLruf/image.png) Instead of science I have personal experience. My experience includes the process of lying down to sleep, thinking about the situation I need an answer for, going to sleep, dreaming the answer and waking the next day KNOWING the answer, ( I have others, but this time I am using my dreams), using this answer and having a positive outcome. The answer may not be what I would have wished for, but it is the answer that is needed to continue on the path of life and not stagnate. I have also ignored answers, when I questioned the logic of being able to give myself answers through dreams. By doing that, the experiences/situations were negative. Even if it was what I consciously thought I wanted, it turned out negative and I reaped the repercussions. So for anyone who wants to question with logic, they would have to admit that LOGICALLY one would rather have a positive experience/outcome rather than a negative one. By following the answers the situations were always positive, disregarding the answers the situations always ended negatively. Psychology has a limited acceptance of intuition, but that does not make it make believe. No one can tell you that it is not real nor does it exist. I can not prove without a doubt that it does, but they can not prove without a doubt it doesn't. Most people who believe in any type of intuition or "gut feeling" are usually very spiritual. Please do not confuse that with religious, because the two are most definitely different. You can have one without the other, some do. Others are very spiritual and religious. Psychology is science and intuition to me is spirituality, so some people have a hard time mixing the two; just as others have a hard time mixing religion and science but for the most part the common human can believe in both. ![](https://steemitimages.com/DQmTXjqJD93iFDCq4oKF8sHJZThYpZ5bvhF8c3yyi6X1kDB/image.png) While life is certainly not a fairytale with a happily ever after, the answers can however lead you farther down the rabbit hole or out onto the path of life. At this point you can move on to your next obstacle, set of questions and answers. Your intuition is always with you, it will not abandon you. You simply have to recognize it for what it is, accept it and use it. Those "gut feelings" are your mind trying to tell you something that it thinks you should know. It does not take the time to sleep and dream for it to work. You have it at your finger tips, but that is for another day. ![](https://steemitimages.com/DQmac9JRHpA32UFbacH15y7GTVRwo8bxyCnGmp6b7F7NYdi/image.png)

When I was a young child I would lie in my bed at night and think about questions or problems I had, before falling asleep. While asleep, I would often times dream \"the answer\" to my situation and would immediately know it upon waking. I never gave these answers a second thought, I just followed what I dreamed, and I was never led astray. It was always the right thing to do. \n\nI distinctly remember becoming \"aware\" of this in middle school, until then it had always just been there and a part of me. I had not questioned it. I was now mature enough that I could consciously and logically look at the entire process. Logically, it did not make sense. How could my dreams give me the answers to lifes problems? Logically I could not prove how the answers could be correct or even formed. Feeling like it was abnormal, I wanted to talk to someone about it but it was the late 1980's and I thought people would think I was weird or crazy. body![](https://steemitimages.com/DQmQuD5415N7y1VLi9pTya56hfbWgX8sYikzPZ5QfFW2F1W/image.png) The path to being able to homestead can be difficult. It is really too bad that more people cannot have their own place to do the homestead activities. There are different degree's of homesteading that can be done, so one could argue that anyone can homestead depending on what is available to them. There is one factor that remains true no matter the degree of homesteading one does; self-sufficiency. The reward of self-sufficiency is something that cannot be replicated by anything else in todays world: not money, video games, desserts, etc. It is a self accomplishment and self reward at the same time. I have seen people living in apartments grow potted gardens in the spring and winter, make all food from scratch and even make some of their own things. They may sew, crochet, can, make jewelry and so on. There are some who urban farm. Some can only grow plants depending on their laws, but they can also make items. Some urban farmers are allowed to have chickens (usually not roosters), or other small livestock as well as growing their foods. Usually there still is not enough land for greenhouses, or its is against city laws or ordinances. These people also usually own there own home/land. People in rentals can usually at least grow potted gardens. It can be difficult to do more than that, and again still has to fall under the laws and ordinances. Can you believe that in Florida (I am not sure if it is just one area or the entire state) but city homes CANNOT grow food gardens!!! If you are blessed and own your own home/land as long as you follow ordinances/laws you can do as you want. The last group are those that live in rural areas/communities that own their home/land. Again as long as you follow the ordinances/laws you can do what you want. These are the ones that can grow to fully homesteading. They can grow their own food, greenhouses, livestock, etc. This is the truly blessed person. In the state I live in the cost of homes/land has grown exponentially in the past 4 years. Yes we have growth before that, but it quite exploded in the past few years. People are selling expensive houses in other states and then coming here and buying up all of these. It has caused a drastic price increase. Lower income levels are not able to buy. Even though they pay their housing bills every month that is not taken into account. People are scrambling to make ends meet. The house gets paid for first, because being homeless is not an option for most people. People are struggling to then feed their family, let alone nutritious food. Many people resort to processed foods to stretch their dollar. If these people were able to get property and grown/raise their own foods it would save them money, we would have a healthier society, and less processed crap would be bought from the large companies. The area of the state that I live in is probably the most expensive, but I have a complicated medical history and have to be close enough to my doctor. Even moving a few hours away is still as expensive. 2018 is my year to get my homestead. It has been my goal for two years and I somehow am going to accomplish it this year. The housing bubble was supposed to have burst by now, but alas that has not happened. So I will have to come up with new ideas. I currently live in a rental and am very limited in what I can do. I owned my own home on only .25 acre outside of the city and was urban farming. I grew gardens, plants, collected and dried seeds, planted fruit trees, bushes, started learning to do many new things. Unfortunately life has its ups and downs and my ex-husband essentially stole the home out from under us. My children and I lived there for many years. He spent about 60-90 days a year there as he was military and was active. He had no attachment to the home and he could not care less to sell it, breaking our hearts. I believe everything happens for a reason, and he had undergone a totally personality change and has major psychiatric issues now and revels in it. The best thing for me and the kids was for him to leave us. But it made us more determined to fly again! The universe was wonderful and brought my soul mate and I back into each others lives after having been torn apart by circumstances outside of our control sixteen years prior. It has been a wonderful growing experience. We are still so much alike and our children are like each other. It is as if we were all meant to be together in the now. As sad as I was for all of those lost years, it seems the universe truly knows what we need. Between us we have one boy and the rest girls. My son is the eldest at 25. Then we have 23, 19,15,12,10,8,and 2 year granddaughter. The nineteen year old and below live with us. It has been an amazing combining over the last year, and we even have a "familyversary". We ALL want to homestead. ![](https://steemitimages.com/DQmR5EZ5mTXPGhpx7CTX3kMntxMAAuCQiMt6dyZnP66WyMv/image.png) Our plans include a home, rabbits for pets and meat, chickens, pig, cow, our dogs and cat, some more cats, goats for milk, growing food, canning, dry freezing, and more and more. One of the most important things to us is to INVITE family and friends to come out and grow foods etc. We want to share the land because we know that not everyone can do this. We are both divorced so have had to clean up credit scores from exes terrible spending habits. But I am determined we will succeed. I feel that every person should have the RIGHT to grow their own organic foods, not for it to be a privilege. If we can get enough land (some day) I would really like to have a homesteading community. I think it would be a great investment of time and resources for anyone who wants to be able to do this. We will not be completely off-grid because of medical needs, but we will be partially off-grid. Who knows that the future will hold. ![](https://steemitimages.com/DQma6dJNLF9rWYrnexyo3my91pNePnnDTdcou2Krsgh6Dub/image.png) So I have decided to document our journey into homesteading. So far we have seeds I have harvested and new plant starts, we are getting into meat rabbits, though we may have to keep them at a family members house for now. The kids are all taught or being taught how to cook from scratch, we crochet and knit and are learning to sew. I also have very dedicated artists, so lots of paints, colors, canvases for the children. I have genuine one of a kind decor! We are going to learn watercolors from natural dyes this spring. ![](https://steemitimages.com/DQmYFwnGeg2YCi1pGXnaJAdkr2TZjbDCm7DZChKnGu8R7aZ/image.png) I will not only document our journey but any new projects we do getting ready for our homestead. We are starting now and I think the positive energy will help to keep us going. Anyone who would like to see more of our journey please stay tuned. ![](https://steemitimages.com/DQmac9JRHpA32UFbacH15y7GTVRwo8bxyCnGmp6b7F7NYdi/image.png)

\n\nIn the state I live in the cost of homes/land has grown exponentially in the past 4 years. If these people were able to get property and grown/raise their own foods it would save them money, we would have a healthier society, and less processed crap would be bought from the large companies.\n\nThe area of the state that I live in is probably the most expensive, but I have a complicated medical history and have to be close enough to my doctor. Even moving a few hours away is still as expensive. \n\n2018 is my year to get my homestead. \nI believe everything happens for a reason, and he had undergone a totally personality change and has major psychiatric issues now and revels in it. The best thing for me and the kids was for him to leave us. But it made us more determined to fly again!\n\nThe universe was wonderful and brought my soul mate and I back into each others lives after having been torn apart by circumstances outside of our control sixteen years prior. It has been an amazing combining over the last year, and we even have a \"familyversary\". We ALL want to homestead. \n![](https://steemitimages.com/DQmR5EZ5mTXPGhpx7CTX3kMntxMAAuCQiMt6dyZnP66WyMv/image.png)\n\nOur plans include a home, rabbits for pets and meat, chickens, pig, cow, our dogs and cat, some more cats, goats for milk, growing food, canning, dry freezing, and more and more. \n![](https://steemitimages.com/DQma6dJNLF9rWYrnexyo3my91pNePnnDTdcou2Krsgh6Dub/image.png)\n\nSo I have decided to document our journey into homesteading. \n![](https://steemitimages.com/DQmYFwnGeg2YCi1pGXnaJAdkr2TZjbDCm7DZChKnGu8R7aZ/image.png)\n\nI will not only document our journey but any new projects we do getting ready for our homestead. We are starting now and I think the positive energy will help to keep us going. \n\nAnyone who would like to see more of our journey please stay tuned. \n![](https://steemitimages.com/DQmac9JRHpA32UFbacH15y7GTVRwo8bxyCnGmp6b7F7NYdi/image.png)",

bodyhaha thanks so much. The droppings and grounds and egg shell are a good mix for composting and need some time to break down. The coffee adds nitrogen to a compost, egg shells calcium and other goodies with the rabbit poo. I am not super qualified or an expert by any means but I certainly have tried some things on my own and will try to put something up in the next week or so. Super duper cool and thanks for keeping up with me over here!

bodyhappy to see a new post from you. You have so much experience, in many fields haha. I am wondering what your guidance would be for creating a soil/fertilizer adding in rabbit droppings, coffee grounds, egg shells and so forth. It would be for farming/gardening/homesteading. I would LOVE to read your thoughts as I am sure others would as well. And if you DO write one will you also tag it under homesteading and gardening and maybe self-sufficiency? thanks and lots of love to the ohana.

body![](https://steemitimages.com/DQmQuD5415N7y1VLi9pTya56hfbWgX8sYikzPZ5QfFW2F1W/image.png) The path to being able to homestead can be difficult. Who knows that the future will hold. \n![](https://steemitimages.com/DQma6dJNLF9rWYrnexyo3my91pNePnnDTdcou2Krsgh6Dub/image.png)\n\nSo I have decided to document our journey into homesteading.

I wrote a post about homesteading and it was liked by others. That was a truly amazing feeling. I have written for years, but I am very hard on myself. I guess I felt a little bit validated. It was also wonderful to see there are other people think and feel like I do. There are so many members of society seem to be sucked into the rat-raced brainwashing of today. I do not knock them, I feel for them. It is my hope that the world may one day become like simpler times. I believe all humans will be better off for it: healthier, happier and satisfied with life. So, I shared my post with my family yesterday and my enthusiasm. We really got down to talking about how we can start doing some homesteading activities with the limitations that we have, until we are able to get our own home/land. Everyone wants to be apart of it. The details and activities of homesteading have been explained and the work that it entails. The kids are totally into it and cannot wait. ![](https://steemitimages.com/DQmaWqp6vdQzEY4mWxJa1nAvYqp2HpGMisUEX1nnDzhzhwq/image.png) We are starting some indoor growths from cuts and are going to be cleaning out all of the gardening pots. I want to put everything in pots, buckets and whatever else will work because the plan is to move this summer. With this timeline I will either have to not garden this year or have to leave a garden midsummer. I would rather have to plant less and be able to take what we have with us than either of the other two options. ![](https://steemitimages.com/DQmaCWpVJWciKeWTdugYACpaR7QgVXvYVwBnvKL7UiVSxqs/image.png) We have two pet rabbits. A New Zealand buck, who is approx 6-7 years old. My daughters best friend rescued him in the Philippines while vacationing there roughly six years ago. That is a whole story in itself and maybe one day I will write it out for you all. Well we ended up with him and he has been loved and cherished since. We have a Holland Lop buck, 1.5 years old, that the kids adore. He is box trained and loves to run around the house and then snuggle when he is all tuckered out. His black and white coloring is beautiful and he is so soft to the touch. We recently had bred him with our youngest childs Holland Lop doe, sadly she and her babies did not make it. The kids were prepared for this possibility and took it better than we, the parents, did. We had not been as prepared as we thought to lose one of our children's pets. We did however put on our big kid panties and get through. ![](https://steemitimages.com/DQmbGbERfxnCHwWgiA7kvbqLx6AKADmiu82J4TPqepJh1c5/image.png) We are getting meat rabbits this weekend. The plan is that the kids can be friendly with the does and buck but the babies will not be their pets. They are for one purpose. My daughter is working on becoming the rabbit expert. We do eventually plan to have a few types of rabbits for different purposes, when we have the room. Along with the rabbits for meat, I am going to start learning to make my own soil/fertilizer from the droppings. I do not know where we are going to set this up at the moment but it is in the plans. Last night we started upcycling unwanted clothing into fabric that we can use while we learn to sew and it will be cost effective for us. We can make different things, starting out slowly and have a variety different types of fabric. We also saved buttons, zippers, elastic and lace. We just did this off the cuff, so to speak. so hopefully we did okay. ![](https://steemitimages.com/DQmYH3ufzpGERRbJ8fuygb3CXZF8fLz3kZHwgT1yPraXsaz/image.png) Today is grocery day. I am really excited because I have recently learned how to regrow a plethora of produce. I have tried it in the past, but was missing a step. My kitchen will be full of starts in the coming weeks. I can buy organic produce and regrow or harvest seeds from them. I am actually fairly good at harvesting and keeping seeds. I have done this many times; from tomatoes, to lavender and strawberries to green beans. I have also harvested from roses, other flowers, fruit trees, and more. It always makes me happy to know that I will have the means of growing more food for my family from each seed. ![](https://steemitimages.com/DQmc4eSTi8CVF2nKFzX3EpWuDnmKDwg2MMuakVNQM9vExm3/image.png) We have started with a small list, but I think it is a good list to start for now. Another item on the agenda for this next week is to work on downsizing. We have a lot of things we just do not need anymore. It should be freeing and liberating. The excitement is there as well as the work. I awoke happy and ready to get to work again. I have a complicated medical history so some days as better than others, but my lovely nineteen year old has the same love and passion for this as my s/o and I do! I am very thankful for her. I am also so happy she relishes this life that we are journeying too. I wish you all a wonderful day filled with positive energy, happiness and smiles. ![](https://steemitimages.com/DQmac9JRHpA32UFbacH15y7GTVRwo8bxyCnGmp6b7F7NYdi/image.png)
