| title | The health benefits of the cold - Porfiry Ivanov (Порфирий Иванов) – week #2 |
| body | As I already told you in one of my previous articles, I was always interested and open to new ways to become really healthy. There was a day I decided to check YouTube on ice swimming and ways to strengthen my immune system. **That day I came across a very interesting personality, namely Porfiry Ivanov.** There are numerous “so-called” experts, which each year graduate from medical universities obtaining certificates which allow them to heal others. *Most of the knowledge they are taught is not worth a penny.* It is because they learn about diseases, and know very little to nothing about health. Health is net something which can be taught in a book, learned by heart and written down on a piece of paper to pass yet another exam. **Health has to be lived, exercised, practiced**. I am making the assumption that more than 95% of medical students choose their major because of chances to get wealthy, to learn a profession, out of interest and for status. But only a minority is choosing it in order to heal and help others. Because this medicine does not heal, what it eventually does is fighting the symptoms of a disease, not the cause. The view of medicine is very narrow-minded, everything what does not fit in their system is generally rejected, at best greeted with highest skepticism. Natural medicine does not care. And here we go. It is more or less known to everybody, that strengthening exercises are good for our health, though mostly unpopular, because they require us to leave the comfort-zone, to be regular and disciplined. It is very pleasant to take a warm bath or shower, but not that pleasant to take a cold shower or ice bath. At least not in the beginning :) When you continue, you learn a lot about yourself. I heard about these cold showers before, but could not decide myself for them. I was not willing to leave my comfort-zone, not because of laziness, but because I was not fully aware of their benefits. *Once you hear some examples, stories, get some inspiration it will be always much easier.* Out of interest I typed in Russian “ice swimmer” on YouTube. **I quickly found Porfiry Ivanov, who was called the “God of ice swimmers”.** I watched two documentaries about him and found it very inspiring. Porfiry Ivanov was born in 1898 on the territory of today’s Eastern Ukraine, formerly part of the Soviet Union, near the city Luhansk. It is area of coal mines and other heavy industry, so after he finished four classes, he started to take different jobs, was working as a coal miner and was even in the army for a short period of time. He had a very bad reputation in his village, known as the first burglar in the village, as a drinker, street-fighter, rogue. Nothing looked like he would become famous in the future. **The turning point of his life was his sickness, which was in his early thirties. He had reportedly cancer in his leg. He was suffering so much that he felt no joy to live any longer. As he did not want to hang himself, he decided to freeze to death.** He went outside, barely wearing anything. He was not able to endure it until death and went back home. He continued doing so for the next few days. What he found out was that he was freezing indeed, but started to feel better and better. **After ten days the disease was gone!** He used this experience to create a big movement. He started to wear less and less clothes, and at the end was always wearing shorts and walked throughout the year barefooted. He had a vision of a person walking up a mountain barely dressed through snow. According to his notes, on 25 April 1933 he had the idea that **all cause of disease of disease and death was due to breakaway from nature – according to him the need for food, clothes and shelter create a dependent, dying life.** He felt to be “the Chosen One, a God on Earth”. His principles called him teacher. *His other nicknames were: God of the Earth, Teacher of the Nation, Winner of Nature.* After he discovered himself to own healing powers, he started to heal others and gained more and more fame. In the peak of his popularity there were trains coming to the village full of people seeking the Master. People were leaving there families to live close to Porfiry Ivanov to follow his teachings and unify with nature. Porfiry Ivanov said that his system led to immortality. Although he lived quite long, he passed away at the age of 85. It was a shock to his followers, who thought he would never die. **The rules of his system were written down in 1982 and consist of following 12 recommendations: ** 1. Take a bath twice a day in natural, cold water. Do it where you want, in a lake, river, bathroom. Use a bucket to pour water over yourself. It depends on your conditions. 2. Before or after you douse, go out barefoot to walk on grass or snow in winter for at least 1-2 minutes. Take a breath through your mouth and wish all people on this planet health. 3. Do not drink alcohol nor smoke. 4. Try once a week to withhold from food and water. Do it from Friday evening to Sunday noon. If you can’t do it that long, do it for a whole day instead. 5. Go out on Sunday noon into the nature barefooted, take a few breaths and think as written above. It is your holiday. 6. Love the surrounding nature. Do not spit around you. Get used to it, it is your health. 7. Greet other people always and everywhere, especially older people. If you want to be healthy, wish health to others. 8. Help others in need however you can. Help sick and poor. Do it with joy. 9. Fight greed, laziness, complacency, hypocrisy and pride. Believe people and love them. 10. Free your head from thoughts about sickness and death. 11. It is good to read, but action is what is needed. 12. Share your experience with others, but do not brag about it and stay humble. Porfiry Ivanov had a lot of followers. It shows what people value always most: their health. They are willing to take the harder way. Some people went so far, that they left their families to live near their Master. There is a lot of critics associated with the person Porfiry Ivanov. Critics point out that the movement had little to do with health, but was rather a religious cult. He played himself a God. Before healing someone, Porfiry Ivanov demanded to ask him to heal. That rule was also no exception for his wife. The “God on Earth” taught to be humble. But he was living in the richest house in the whole village and was even later able to buy himself a car, which was affordable to the smallest group of people at that time in the Soviet Union. Some people said he was mentally ill, as he spent 12 years of his life in psychiatric facilities. The fact is that he was absolutely unique and was living in a repressive state. A lot of his visits in psychiatric facilities were due to repressive measures of the police. The critics claim that he was highly unpopular in his village. I could imagine that, as the villagers lost their ambient and peaceful life. The village turned almost to a place of pilgrimage. Some critics go that far to say, he was not a healthy man at all. I was not living at all during his times, however this is complete nonsense. A lot of documentaries were describing himself as an extremely vital and healthy man. You can judge it yourself by watching his pictures and documentaries. Another critic is that his notes were very hard to read. They were full of repetitions and did not remind anybody with a crystalline mind. I cannot judge that, I read the “Detka” (name of his system) in original, but that was some time ago. Anyway, I think it is exaggerated. Another interesting fact is that Porfiry Ivanov had always long hair, because hair according to him antennas to the universe, mirror of our souls. Long hair does better receive signals. I heard that theory also from elsewhere, and will share it with you when I get more knowledgeable on this. **I do not see Porfiry Ivanov as my “God of the Earth”, “Teacher of the Nation”, and inner of Nature”. But he definitely was an inspiration to me.** He pushed me further to explore new things, to seek even more health. He was a person of firm beliefs and did an awful lot to people who were struggling to live an honorable life and gave them hope and health. He deserves a lot of credit. No one is perfect, no one can unify all people. **He had an utopia in his mind and was living it fully.** You must admit he made it very far starting from the first burglar and rogue in his village. :-) |

Before or after you douse, go out barefoot to walk on grass or snow in winter for at least 1-2 minutes. Take a breath through your mouth and wish all people on this planet health.\n3. Do not drink alcohol nor smoke.\n4. Try once a week to withhold from food and water. Do it from Friday evening to Sunday noon. If you can’t do it that long, do it for a whole day instead.\n5. Go out on Sunday noon into the nature barefooted, take a few breaths and think as written above. It is your holiday.\n6. Love the surrounding nature. Do not spit around you. Get used to it, it is your health.\n7. Greet other people always and everywhere, especially older people. If you want to be healthy, wish health to others.\n8. Help others in need however you can. Help sick and poor. Do it with joy.\n9. Fight greed, laziness, complacency, hypocrisy and pride. Believe people and love them.\n10. Free your head from thoughts about sickness and death.\n11. It is good to read, but action is what is needed.\n12. Share your experience with others, but do not brag about it and stay humble.\n\nPorfiry Ivanov had a lot of followers. It shows what people value always most: their health. They are willing to take the harder way. Some people went so far, that they left their families to live near their Master. \n\nThere is a lot of critics associated with the person Porfiry Ivanov. \n\nAnother interesting fact is that Porfiry Ivanov had always long hair, because hair according to him antennas to the universe, mirror of our souls. Long hair does better receive signals. I heard that theory also from elsewhere, and will share it with you when I get more knowledgeable on this. \n\n**I do not see Porfiry Ivanov as my “God of the Earth”, “Teacher of the Nation”, and inner of Nature”. **He had an utopia in his mind and was living it fully.**\n\nYou must admit he made it very far starting from the first burglar and rogue in his village. :-) \n\n",

| title | Health is power! - week #1 - Why pills ruin your health |
| body | To begin with, you have to remember, understand and fully soak up the following sentence, as it is crucial to comprehend the essence of health: # **“Health is the natural state of a human body.”** This may sound very simple and obvious to you, but for sure it is not obvious to most people. What does it mean? First of all it means that if your body works as it is supposed to, then you are healthy. It is normal to be healthy!! Following that, once you become sick, you lose this natural and normal state of being healthy. So you are out of it and nature has given us self-healing power to get back to this normal state of being healthy. So once you get sick, it is normal for a human body to launch the self-healing process. In books they call this normal state of being healthy **homeostasis**. Try to imagine homeostasis as a balance or equilibrium. It is not a point, but rather a range. As long as the body works within this range, you do not get sick. https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmf1iaiT2iit2AfhAgrjmrF6jmnc6mfv2YKdKW3u5RtfGp/homeostasis.jpeg Your body is constantly attacked by viruses, unfavorable weather conditions, sedentary lifestyle, pollution. We have full of that, but we are also provided with an immune system which helps us to maintain the homeostasis, equilibrium. *So a strong immune system allows you to cope with unfavorable conditions*. A weak body gets sick, and a strong body does not get sick. **And moreover, it is getting stronger.** **How to strengthen the immune system to remain healthy** There are a lot of ways!! **1) Expose your body to unfavorable conditions!** Examples are: go for a walk instead of staying at home. The same applies for a walk in winter, hot summer and in rain. *Your body will be forced to activate forces to retain the homeostasis*. You can go to a sauna or ice-swimming. *Every time your body will activate it’s forces to retain the equilibrium, these forces will be more alert and readier for the next time*. You can leave your winter jacket at home when going out, or gloves and beanie. You do not need to do it for long, especially when your body is weak and untrained. Do also bear in mind that some limit is to be followed. It do not believe in extreme exposure. Instead of activation of your self-healing forces, you will use them up. **2) Physical training** Every physical training, running, going to the gym, swimming etc. makes your body stronger and more capable to fight to remain in the homeostasis. **3) Mental training** Your body has to be seen as a whole, health of body and mind bring together the final result. Mental health like meditation, self-hypnosis, autogenic training and every other relaxation techniques will benefit you. Also breathing exercises, eye exercises will do you a favor. Because you cannot see them separately, when you train your breath, you are training the whole body, when you make eye exercises, you do the same! **4) Healthy diet The healthier you eat, the better for you body.** You will get rid of toxics, and this alone makes your body work better. Why do people who eat healthy stop getting sick? Because there body gets cleaner, purer and can work freely to fight unwelcome guests! **Also chew very carefully what you eat!** Your digestive system will have much less work to do, you will get much more out of what you eat for your body, you will retain a lot of energy, which you will be able to use elsewhere! Having read this we should also mention what does harm to our body and what weakens our self-healing forces to retain the homeostasis: Basically you can turn everything mentioned earlier upside down. Unhealthy lifestyle alcohol, cigarettes, bad nutrition, stress. **However, I want to stress one thing. Medication, at least in the way it is understood by conventional medicine.** Imagine our body as a comprehensive self-organizing system. **It means that you do not need to understand what is going on inside your body to be healthy.** It works without your diploma, independent from whether you have money or not. It is given. **Also, you do not need to interfere, it can function on its own. Your body is equipped with soldiers! However, they fight for peace, for your homeostasis. Homeostasis is peace and love for your body.** Each time the equilibrium is threatened, soldiers in your body wake up and fight the intruders. Once fought, they can relax and go to sleep again. They are soldiers on-demand. They wake up when needed, they go to sleep when their work is done. **Now your task is to make your soldiers strong!** If your soldiers are strong, you will not loose your homeostasis. How to make your soldiers strong you have already read above. What is wrong with medication then? I have fever, I catch a cold, then I take a pill, and it is over!! The very big problem is when you get sick you already have lost you homeostasis. It means your soldiers were weak already. Now it should be highest time to put them to work! **But a pill is doing all the work for your soldiers!! This is very, very bad! Because your soldiers can continue their cozy sleep. They will get even weaker.** The next time your homeostasis is under threat, they will still be deep asleep. Another pill will make it, before any soldier ever wakes up. They will starve and disappear! So medication is not rescuing you, it is harming you very badly! You will need pills more and more often. A small infection will be too much for you. **Then the vicious circle begins.**The same pill which was helping you in the past will not help you anymore, because you soldiers are gone and do not even do part of their job. You will require more pills, stronger ones. Your recovery will last much longer. Don’t even allow this to happen to yourself. **Believe in your body, take care of yourself. Stay healthy mentally and physically, because health is power!** |

| title | Train smart, not hard! Harmonizing breath with training |
| body | A lot of people go to gyms or train at home! The motivation varies, most people want to feel better and look better, get slimmer or more muscular. **Health is power, health is good mood.** In my opinion loosing kilograms is not the best motivation, as it puts pressure on yourself and takes away the joy. But if this makes you doing sports, take it! **The most important thing while training which I think the minority thinks about is to harmonize your movements with your breath. When you make a movement you inhale, when you make the reverse movement you exhale.** You may know it from yoga, but you need to take it into the gym, too! This will make your training much, much more effective. **Train smart, not hard!!** **You inhale through the nose, you exhale through the mouth.** Your movements do not need to be fast. Doing so, you will quickly harvest, you will feel calm, relaxed and not exhausted! More oxygen will flow through your body, **you should even notice better eyesight during the exercises**! Also you will not feel like you need to eat a ton of food after the exercise. Try and let me know! Remember, train smart, not hard! |

| body | Hi! I am a fan of salads, and this is one I eat recently regularly! It contains: - ¾ of salad, two big tomatoes, three grated carrots, one small onion, green olives & olive oil. You could add avocado and dried tomatoes, as well. To make it even better, instead of just using olive oil you could make pesto as a sauce. For example add olive or sunflower oil, a little bit of fennel, garlic, some sunflower seeds or other nuts like cashew and blend it. Add to the salad and mix. I bought the ingredients on an eco-market, if you can have them from your garden - even better! Don’t save on the ingredients, the better they are, the healthier and tastier the salad gets! Enjoy :-) |

| title | The difference between books about health and books about medicine |
| body | Hi everyone! I recently finished a book titled “Healing through diet” (in polish), which I knew that it would not correspond entirely with my beliefs, but I still decided to read it. I once again confirmed myself how the majority of books concerning medicine and diet are written. 1) They are very complicated, because the author tries hard to provide scientific proofs for his statements. 2) You somehow get the feeling that you are doing everything wrong. Both things unfortunately discourage you. The are so hard to understand that you need to literally study them and read a couple of times. You get the feeling that health is something difficult to achieve and understanding biochemistry is essential. While some observations of the author of this book might be right, the conclusions are subjective and lead to the beliefs of the author. You could take the same observations and have completely different conclusions than the author did and you would not be wrong! **The main difference between a book about medicine and a book about health is that a book about medicine tells you how to cure diseases, and a book about health tells you how to be healthy! This is oil and water!!** First of all, **health is simple!** You do not need a master’s degree and have basically any understanding of biology to obtain perfect health. All you need is openness and trust your intuition and learn to listen to your body. If you develop that kind of trust for your inner feelings than you will not ask for scientific proofs, the feeling of knowing what is right will be enough for you. This kind of trust happens also when learning foreign languages. When you know the meaning of a word, which came across you several times, but you still feel you need to check it in the dictionary, then your level of trust in yourself is low. And this costs you time, energy and fun! I am not saying reading such books is bad, but you need to be aware that they will not bring you far. Follow people whose health impresses you. Their message is much stronger. It’s like listening to an successful entrepreneur about starting a business or a traveler about traveling – you belove what they say, because they learned it through experience! I once again confirmed myself how the majority of books concerning medicine and diet are written. \n\n\n1) They are very complicated, because the author tries hard to provide scientific proofs for his statements.\n2) You somehow get the feeling that you are doing everything wrong.\n\nBoth things unfortunately discourage you. The are so hard to understand that you need to literally study them and read a couple of times. | title | Healthy sleep - how to sleep less than 8 hours and have a perfect sleep #2 – Sleeping in the open air! |
| body | In my previous article about how to sleep healthy, not too long, but still have a good sleep I forgot one important thing: **fresh air**. It is extremely important to open the window at night to make sure you have enough oxygen. Even when it is cold, you should open the window slightly, if you feel cold you need to take an additional blanket or duvet. It is summer now, quite hot everywhere – the temperature is about 20-23 degrees Celsius at night and my windows are opened constantly. I live very close to the seaside and a landscape park, so the quality of the air is very good. **After opening the windows widely before going to sleep each night I came up with a great idea: Why not sleep on the balcony?** My neighbourhood is relatively quiet, especially between 10 pm and 6 am. So I tried and it felt fantastic. I am currently sleeping on a sleeping pad and a blanket and cover myself with a blanket or duvet, but a sleeping bag will serve you, as well! The sleep feels fantastic, you get up earlier than usually (birds and sometimes cars will wake you up), but **at 5 or 6 am you are already awake and fresh. You feel oxidized.** It will feel even better in the coming weeks when the air will cool off. If you live in a metropolis, you are probably unlucky. It will be difficult to fall asleep as of the noise of the cars and the air most likely will not be too inviting, but if you live in the countryside, surrounded by nature or small towns you can try it out. Let me know if you did and how it felt :) If you like my articles, feel free to donate me :) Thanks! | title | The health benefits of the cold #1 |
| body | **I have become an ice-swimmer last year**, which I wanted to become at least around three years ago. Last winter I took about 40 swims / baths outside in a temperature ranging from +5 degrees Celsius to –15 degrees Celsius. My first swim was in November in a lake, and it lasted for about an minute and a half, that’s what I could endure for the first time. After that I felt very cold for quite a time, which continued after future ice-swims, but diminished with each time. As I learned afterwards, this happens when cold and warm blood mixes. At the end of winter I was comfortable with 10 minutes. **The cold is an amazing force to fight any disease!** Even cancer! To combat a disease is not so easy, it is a very big force. To do that you need a powerful counter-force, and cold water is one, indeed! In my opinion cold is able to defeat any disease. **When I apply new rules to my lifestyle, I follow my intuition. If something makes me feel better, it must be good for my body.** Take a cold shower or an ice bath, and you will feel great. Continue doing so, and you will harvest very soon. I more or less knew that cold is very helpful, but was not really beginning to become interested in it, mainly because nobody I knew was taking ice baths or cold showers. When I first heard a friend saying: “My grandpa used to take cold showers and never got sick” was when I felt if I want to be really healthy, then there can’t be any excuses. This was the moment I started to become aware of it, but it wasn’t actually when I started. How I actually started and who inspired me, I will tell you in my next post. If you like my articles, feel free to donate me :) Thanks! BTC, WAVES, LTC, ETH, XMR: 3PEr34tAxJy3quiJNUCST9dx2DNyeARWz7m NEM: NCJAQUI3HTMG2RJ6LEJZUHLLCXPJKVJ65MM7N6M2 |

| title | Form habits! - They get you to new levels! |
| body | Having habits is very important. They will change over time, old ones will be exchanged for new ones, but this is natural. They help you to become more mature. **What are habits?** **Habits are things we do repeatedly over a period of time**, let's give some examples: - swimming twice a week - doing exercises every day after getting up - cleaning the room once a week - fasting once a week - practicing Yoga twice a week - not eating sweets - going to sleep early - not eating between meals. - learning a foreign language every day... These are just examples. Habits are things we plan to do regularly and are good for us and which we carry out (going to McDonald's once a week is not a habit I mean). **Why are habits important?** Habits are so important because we learn to be disciplined, to care about ourselves and carry things out as planned. They strengthen our inner will. We start from easy things to follow, and being successful we get new, more challenging and more important habits for us. It is not possible to carry out everything exactly as we intended, but it is important to strive for it. I missed it today, but I will do better from now on. Forming habits can take some time to become a natural part of our daily life, but this is when it starts to feel so great! So test yourself! **With every habit you develop, you become mentally stronger and reach new levels**. Know what is good for you! It is like in sports and in games, the more you train, the better you get, the easier and more fun it becomes! **Over time you will discover new things, and you will be prepared when needed - when others start to slow down, you will accelerate :)))** |

| title | It's summer - Go out and be active! |
| body | Hi everyone! In the past people lived so close to nature that it was normal being out of home. Times have slightly changed, the number of affordable electronic devices as well ;) And people got addicted, forgetting the nature and sports. **It is summer time, don't stay at home the whole day!** Go out and have fun! Be active, do what you love! Go and play basketball, soccer, tennis, go dancing, skating, whatever you are passionate about or what you would like to learn. Nothing comes easy, take first steps, explore new sports!! Go for a park run! If you finish work in the afternoon, try to go for a walk! It changes your perspective on current matters, relieves your mind, relaxes you, gives you new ideas. You can't be healthy just working and being at home**, even eating healthy food alone is way too less. Be aware of that!** For us to work properly, have a calm and relaxed state of mind can't be reached if your body is not in a good shape! **If you move, your muscles work, oxygen is moving all around your body, nourishing all your cells.** Vitamins will be absorbed at a much greater level. Read a book being passive for a couple of days and read a book after two hours of activity, and you will see the difference! **The sun is your friend, go out and get it!** |

| title | Healthy sleep - how to sleep less than 8 hours and have a perfect sleep |
| body | Hi everyone! **People who sleep less simply have more time!** It is as simple as it sounds... When you use the additional time properly, then it's great, you will have an immense advantage over others!! Even 1-2 hours a day makes such a great difference. Enough sleep is very important for your help, though. **So sleeping less won't do it, unfortunately**. Over time, your body will get tired, and you will become less efficient. A lot of people need even more than 8 hours sleep, a lot of people sleep much less, but do it harming themselves and they sleep a lot on weekends. I was trying a lot for a few years, and came to several conclusions: * **Go to sleep no later than 22:00!!** You will be surprised, that you will need much less sleep than before, and how great it is to get up in the morning and have a lot of time. You will feel great! I promise :) Sleep means sleep, and not lying in the bed and watching your cellphone. Turn it off when you go to sleep will be the best. * **Sleep on a hard surface!!** You can either sleep on the floor (that's what I do), or choose a hard mattress. It is much better for your recovery, take an example from animals, wild animals sleep on the ground and are comfortable and healthy. You will find it comfortable very quickly, too. * **Do not eat about 1 hours before you go to sleep!!** It is difficult to fall asleep with a full stomach, you know that :) The change is not so easy, it took me three years of to naturally go to sleep early, but the reward is amazing. Your body functions as nature meant it to be, **follow the sun!** :) More articles about health to follow! I am interested on your opinions and comments! |
