Pero también calla los hechos violentos que ocurren a puertas cerradas.\n\nParte alta del barrio La Grama, en Mamera (Caracas, Venezuela). Un bebé de apenas un año murió el domingo 25 de febrero. Las quemaduras y golpes en su pequeño cuerpo delatan maltrato infantil. También un abuso sexual.\nVecinos no saben. No comentan.\n\nAlzan la mirada con cautela cuando funcionarios policiales a bordo de una moto guian a un grupo de periodistas que buscan la noticia. Tocan de puerta en puerta buscando testimonios.\n\nVecinos callan.\n\nCuando se pregunta por la dirección donde presumen que vivía el bebé, con sus dos abuelos, mencionan “la cancha”, de la que no hubo rastros tras casi 30 minutos de recorrido en la zona.\nPeriodista imaginaban un terreno amplio, cual complejo deportivo. En realidad, el sitio se trataba de una canasta de básquet atornillada contra una pared de alguna casa.\n\nLos minutos pasan y el tiempo solo da para grabar algunos planos desde las alturas para un canal de televisión. Se ve una ciudad contrastada, entre casas a medio terminar y una autopista despejada.\n\nTodos optan por irse ante la falta de información. El camino de vuelta es diferente: continúa hacia una “y” que culmina, en menos de 10 minutos, en una iglesia ubicada en la Calle de Atrás de Antímano. Vuelta a la ciudad, parte baja.\n\nArriba se deja un hogar donde un bebé perdió la vida, tras ser golpeado y abusado. También con signos de desnutrición grave y heridas de quemaduras.\n\nLas investigaciones apenas iniciaron, mientras que sus abuelos quedaron detenidos por ser los principales sospechosos.\nDías después se confirma que son los culpables.\n\nCon ellos vivía, en las alturas de Mamera, en alguna casa ubicada en una montaña de ladrillos naranjas.",

Y solo pongo las series, porque pudiera añadir los documentales y películas. Y, casi todo, cortesía de Netflix.\n\nEl servicio de streaming se convirtió en una adicción para mí desde que una amiga me compartiera su contraseña (sin yo pedirla). Pero eso solo aceleró las cosas, pues antes ya pasaba parte de mi tiempo entre descargas y programas vistos.\n\nLas series se convirtieron –para muchos- en un universo con varios mundos para explorar, hablar, escribir, comentar y… ¿perder el tiempo?\n\nAl menos así lo ven varios “cinéfilos” según una publicación del diario El País de España del 16 de febrero. Para ellos,  pasar más de seis horas de tu vida pegado a una pantalla para ver tramas que se repiten una y otra vez. Para ellos, ese tiempo es mejor gastarlo en otra cosa como… ver películas.\n\nMe pareció curioso cuando leí esa parte, porque aplico lo mismo para las series. El tiempo que dura una película lo puedo gastar viendo entre dos o cuatro capítulos de un seriado.\n\nPero cuando hablamos de ambos mundos audiovisuales, es correcto decir ¿“gastar o perder el tiempo”? Así lo pensaba yo hasta hace un año, aproximadamente. Solo veía lo que me despertara curiosidad y lo que mi internet me permitía descargar (vivo en Venezuela, uno de los países con el internet más lento en el continente Latinoamericano).\n\nMáximo podía ver dos o tres horas de una serie, no más. Porque luego sentía que no estaba haciendo nada con mi vida. Pero todo cambió cuando empecé a ver Breaking Bad y en la universidad vi una materia llamada “Guionismo” (estudio Comunicación Social), cuyo contenido se relaciona a las estructuras de los diálogos y construcción de personajes, tanto de series como de películas.\n\nNo había una serie o película que mi profesor no hubiese visto. Buena o mala, él la comentaba. Era su mejor manera de darnos los ejemplos e indicar la diferencia entre un contenido bueno y otro malo, entre personajes que se ganan tu simpatía u odio, por estar bien planteados, y otros que no despiertan ningún tipo de interés.\n\nMi profesor tiene una productora audiovisual, y su tiempo lo divide entre enseñar, corregir, trabajar, jugar videojuegos, ver series y películas, las últimas dos en las noches y madrugadas.\n\nMe di cuenta que su trabajo como productor y guionista se perfecciona debido al tiempo que consume materiales audiovisuales, si no lo hiciera ¿cómo sabría lo que debe mejorar o no, lo que debe escribir y cómo escribirlo?\n\nVarias de las tareas en la materia eran escribir guiones, contar historias. Y es una de las cosas más complicadas de hacer. Hay que cuidar los detalles, tener coherencia, y lo más difícil: mostrar, no decirlo. En un guion no pones “Walter White vio morir a Jane”. Así pierde atractivo y no luce tan doloroso como fue (al menos para mí).\n\n![](https://steemitimages.com/DQmYyV6aKP5o8dLi66H2GWgwGydydfpRNCxKyQjLRUkaFWF/image.png)\n\nDebes describir la escena desde el momento que mister White entra a la casa, mueve a Jesse para despertarlo mientras duerme en la cama con Jane, sin ninguna reacción.  Tira la inyectadora que ambos usaron para drogarse y comienza a escuchar la tos de Jane. Intenta tocarla, pero se detiene. Jane tose, se mueve por la cama. Walter voltea de un lado a otro, hasta que fija su mirada en ella. La tos de Jane para. Se ahoga con su saliva. Las lágrimas corren por el rostro de Walter, se tapa la boca para callar el llanto. Cierra los ojos, suspira.\n\nEn todo el párrafo anterior no se dice en ninguna parte que Jane murió, pero conociendo el contexto de la serie y el capítulo, queda bastante obvio. De nuevo: mostrar, no decirlo.\n\nY el ejemplo con Breaking Bad viene perfecto, porque es una de las mejores series, con uno de los mejores guiones.\nLuego de ambas cosas, entendí que tanto las series como películas se llevan su tiempo, su dedicación. Algunas, al verlas, sirven para cuestionarte la vida, te hacen pensar, dudar, sentirte relacionado con algún momento o con algún personajes. Otras solo se disfrutan, te ríes, lloras, te identificas... luego de un día difícil en el trabajo o universidad.\nY para quienes se quieren involucrar en lo audiovisual “perder el tiempo” en esto, es casi que un deber. Y qué genial deber ser trabajar viendo series… o películas. O ambas.",
