A nude swim at sunrise to celebrate the winter solstice may not sound all that appealing, but you can do exactly that in Tassie. It's all part of the [Dark Mofo](https://darkmofo.net.au/) winter festival run by the rather unconventional Museum of Old and New Art (MONA) in Hobart. But our focus is on summer events, so let's move to the northernmost part of the state and King Island, less than an hours flight from Melbourne or Burnie.\nThis little island, off the island of Tasmania, is getting well known in golfing circles with the [#1 and #4 ranked public access golf courses in Australia](https://gobehindthescenery.com.au/insiders-guide/tassies-top-fore/). It seems a better-kept secret is the Free Willy Nude Beach Run held at British Admiral Beach, where you can take part in either the men's or women's 50m sprint.\nHeld on the Victorian and Tasmanian March long weekend (Labour Day - 2nd Monday in March), the nude run occurs this summer on Saturday, March 10 at 2:30 pm.
