Pero peor están quienes para comienzos de año compraron otras criptomonedas. \n\nMuchos se lamentan cuando hacen el cálculo en dólares estadounidenses de lo que tenían en Bitcoin a comienzos de año y lo que tienen ahora.  Sin embargo, no son los más afectados. Mucho más han perdido quienes invirtieron todo en Ethereum, Ripple, Cardano, entre otras criptomonedas que están en el top ten.  DiarioBitcoin hizo una comparación de los precios de enero y los actuales para calcular cuánto significa la baja.  Vale señalar que es importante no tomar estos datos como pronóstico de comportamiento futuro de las monedas. Bien saben los que están en el negocio cripto, que las criptomonedas tienen un comportamiento que puede llegar a sorprender y desmentir cualquier proyección.\n\nHoy martes 14 de agosto, a las 2:00 pm en Nueva York, el precio de Bitcoin es de USD $6.097, 2,87% menos que ayer y 13,34% menos que la semana pasada. Pero si comparamos ese precio con su principal valor, que ocurrió el 17 de diciembre de 2017, cuando llegó a costar casi 20.000 dólares estadounidenses, podemos ver que su precio se ha reducido aproximadamente 3,3 veces.  Parece mucho, pero cuando comparamos con las demás criptos veremos que no es así.\n\nEthereum vale ahora USD $259,66, 11,71% menos que ayer y 35,55% menos que el martes pasado . Su mejor precio se produjo el 14 de enero de este año, cuando llegó a valer USD $1.389,18, es decir, entre ese mes y el día de hoy su valor se ha reducido poco más de 5 veces.\n\nEl caso de Ripple es aún peor. La tercera del ranking llegó a valer USD $3,34 el pasado 3 de enero. Hoy vale  USD $0,26, es decir ha perdido unas 12,8 veces su mejor precio.\n\nEn el caso de Bitcoin Cash, su mejor precio lo obtuvo el 20 de diciembre, cuando valía cada unidad USD $4091.  Hoy en día vale 8 veces y media menos que en ese momento: 481 dólares estadounidenses.\n\nStellar, la quinta del ranking según su mercado de capitalización, tiene un precio hoy de USD $0,21, mientras que el 3 de enero de este año obtuvo el récord de USD $0,91. Es decir, hoy vale 4 veces menos que a principios de año.\n\nPor su parte, EOS tiene hoy un precio de USD $4,31, 9,33% menos que ayer y 37,99% menos que el martes pasado.  Su mayor valor fue el 29 de abril de este año, cuando se remontó a los USD $ 21,46, unas 5 veces más que lo que vale hoy.\n\nLitecoin vale ahora USD $51,73. Esta cripto llegó a costar USD $365 en su mejor momento a mediados de diciembre de 2017.  Es decir, su precio cayó unas 7 veces en los últimos 9 meses.\n\nCardano vale ahora USD $0,09, mientras que en su mejor momento, el 4 de enero, llegó a costar USD $1,28, es decir ha tenido la pérdida más drástica del top ten, pues ahora se vende a un precio 14 veces más bajo que su valor de enero.\n\nFinalmente, la última del top ten (sin contar Tether, la criptomoneda de precio igual a USD $1)  es Monero.  Hoy vale 82,06 dólares estadounidenses, 28% menos que su precio de la semana pasada. Si comparamos ese con su mejor precio, USD $494 el 7 de enero, podemos ver que su valor se ha reducido 6 veces.\n\nY si ese mismo cálculo lo sacamos con respecto al mercado de capitalización del mundo cripto (1833 monedas y activos registrados al día de hoy en CoinMarketCap) vemos que hoy vale USD $191 mil millones y llegó a valer el pasado 7 de enero USD $813,8 mil millones. Es decir, ha disminuido 4,2 veces su valor.",
