I have seen this mentality couple of times: 'Oh, no problem. I have my old lock from my good oldie bike.' Which should not be a problem if it is quality made and hard to unlock or cut through. However, in most cases, it is not... And I simply can't understand it. If you pay $4000 for your new bike, why would you save money on something, which is supposed to protect it?\n\n&nbsp;\n<p class=\"text-xl\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>The golden rule: Spend 10% of your bike's value on the lock itself</strong></p>\n&nbsp;\n\nOf course, the best protection is not to leave it anywhere public. If you use your bike for commission between your home and workplace, then most likely you can always find a safe spot for it, where nobody can touch it. However if you must leave it anytime at a public space, then you should definitely think about protection by using one or two quality made locks.\n\n&nbsp;\n\nThe truth is even the best locks cannot protect your bike hundred percent, but the risk to get stolen should be minimized. Depending on where you live, there can be several professional groups who specialize in stealing bikes. Electric bikes are drawing attention and these guys will immediately spot a high-value piece.\n\n&nbsp;\n\nIn this article, you will learn the basics of bicycle locks and I would like to recommend you a few specific locks which are quality made and offers great protection.\n\n&nbsp;\n\nSo let's dig in!\n<h2 id=\"second\"></h2>\n<h2>Which is the best bike lock type for you?</h2>\nUnderstanding the basics of bike locks is crucial to make the best decision upon purchase. We have collected the basic types of bike locks for you, so based on your environment and usage, you can find out which is the best type of bike lock for you.\n<h3 id=\"second_first\"><b>Cable locks</b></h3>\n&nbsp;\n\n<img class=\"aligncenter wp-image-2026\" title=\"Best bike lock - cable lock\" src=\"https://emobilityhq.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/cable-lock-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Best bike lock - cable lock\" width=\"831\" height=\"554\" />\n\nCable locks are basically made of several steel cables winded up spirally, with a protective sheath to prevent scratches. It literally takes only seconds to cut it through with a bigger cutter.\n\nOn the other hand, it has the advantage of low weight, and the possibility to lock several bicycles together because of longer possible length. They can also be a good choice if you simply want to immobilize your bike because you can keep your eyes on it, but you don't want anyone just to pick it up and take it. Even though we don't recommend them as a main bicycle lock, we will show you some types which could serve as a temporary and secondary lock.\n<h3><b>U-locks</b></h3>\n&nbsp;\n\n<img class=\"aligncenter wp-image-2027 size-large\" title=\"Best bike lock - U-lock\" src=\"https://emobilityhq.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/U-lock-1024x575.jpg\" alt=\"Best bike lock - U-lock\" width=\"1024\" height=\"575\" />\n\n&nbsp;\n\nU-Locks usually have a sturdy design with lots of material inside. They are called U-locks because they contain a U shaped hardened metal part which connects to a lock mechanism which is hardened by a metal case around it. Because of this, they tend to be heavier than cable locks. They are not comfortable to carry around if you have a low weight road bike, but for a general electric bicycle, it will not make any difference. You can simply put it in your backpack, or fix it on your bike for easily carry it around. Besides the high weight, you can not use U-locks as flexible as cable locks. That means if you have a short lock, you may not be able to lock your bike in every situation.\n\nDespite the disadvantages, U-locks are highly recommended as this construction provides one of the best protection currently. The thick hardened metal part is designed against cutting devices, and the hardened metal case usually resists lockpicking attempts.\n\nWe have also collected some of the <strong>best U-locks</strong> on the market, of which you can read about later.\n\n&nbsp;\n<h3 id=\"second_third\"><b>Chain locks</b></h3>\n&nbsp;\n\n<img class=\"aligncenter wp-image-2029 size-large\" title=\"Best bike locks - Chain lock\" src=\"https://emobilityhq.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/Chain-lock-1024x750.jpg\" alt=\"Best bike locks - Chain lock\" width=\"1024\" height=\"750\" />\n\n&nbsp;\n\nChain locks are a good mixture of the advantages of cable locks and U-locks. The high-quality products are made of special steel and are hard to cut, while they can be as long as you want it to be. Chain locks are often used for mopeds and motors for a good reason. Some locks have extremely high weight, which makes it uncomfortable for cyclists.\n\nIn some cases chain locks are a good option due to the high strength and flexibility, but only if you can deal with the weight and big size.\n\nChain locks offer the highest possible security for bicycles.\n\nThere are two main components:\nThe chain, which is usually covered with plastic or textile, to protect the painting and the lock.\nThe lock, which can be an integrated lock mechanism or a stand-alone padlock.\n\nBesides the level of security, the other advantage is the flexibility. There are long chain locks available, which is easier to use under certain circumstances. In short words, chain locks provide high-level security, high weight, and poor transportation potential.\n\nWe have listed some of the <strong>best chain locks</strong> for you, which you can find in the second half of the article.\n<h3 id=\"second_fourth\"><b>Folding locks</b></h3>\n&nbsp;\n\n<img class=\"aligncenter wp-image-2030 size-large\" title=\"Best bike locks - Folding lock\" src=\"https://emobilityhq.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/folding-lock-1024x681.jpg\" alt=\"Best bike locks - Folding lock\" width=\"1024\" height=\"681\" />\n\n&nbsp;\n\nFolding locks are made of several metal sections with jointed ends. They have been designed to be durable but also to have a compact size. While the design is now used by more and more manufacturers,  I would recommend you to stay away from cheap and unknown products. This is the only category, where I would only choose locks from ABUS based on security.\n\nWhen the lock is closed, the compact size allows you to easily fix it on the bike without taking too much space. When you want to lock your bike, you can simply open the metal sections, lead around your bike and the pole and simply lock it just like a simple cable lock.\n\nThe strength of these kinds of locks comes from the structure of the metal sections. They are thick and quite wide and made of special hardened steel. The shape of the metal parts gives a perfect protection against cutters and saws.\n\nTheir only weakness is the jointed ends, which can be vulnerable against nut splitters. However, along with U-locks, they are also highly recommended.\n\nIn the <em>recommended bicycle locks </em>section, you can find the <strong>best folding lock</strong> by Abus, and also a good deal of price/performance ratio.\n<h2 id=\"third\"><b>Understanding security levels of manufacturers</b></h2>\n&nbsp;\n\nIn this article, you can mostly find products from the three most trusted lock manufacturers: Abus, Kryptonite, and OnGuard.\nAll of these manufacturers are well-established companies with a long history and huge experience. Because all of them have products with different security levels, it's important to understand their grading system to find the perfect lock for you.\n\n&nbsp;\n<h3 id=\"third_first\"><b>Abus security levels</b></h3>\nAbus lock manufacturer has created a system of 15 security levels to rank their bicycle locks. In the following graphic, you can see what do the different levels mean and which one is recommended in different environments.\n\nGenerally, the security levels from 1-4 are not providing serious theft protection. They are good for immobilizing the bicycle, but with basic cutters, it would be easy to break them down.\n\nLevel 20 grade locks are not shown on the graphic as they are aiming to provide protection for scooters, motors. The following graphic is the recommendation chart of Kryptonite and it gives a really good overview for anyone interested in buying one of their locks.\n\nOf course, this graphic may not be true for every case. If you use your bike in the suburbs and it has a higher theft risk than usual, you should get a higher security level lock. The three security levels are basic, high and ultimate.\n\nGenerally, bicycle locks on the lower range have been mostly designed to immobilize bicycles. They are recommended for low crime areas like suburban, recreational and rural areas. These locks are not designed against professional thieves, with basic tools it would be relatively fast to break them.\n\nFor areas with more traffic and higher crime threat, high and ultimate security graded locks are recommended. However if you are above it, we recommend to choose one of the bigger models wich we will cover later on.\n\nThe overall buildup is quality made and offers an IP 54 protection. A small and unexpected rain may not be a problem, but don't use it under wet circumstances  for long.\n<h4></h4>\n<h4>Speed and range</h4>\nThe FutureSaw 6.5 comes with one 350W motor on each side which lets you to climb slopes up to 30° degrees according to the specification, but don't expect to have a high speed by doing so and especially not a high overall range.\n\nOn flat surface the top speed is 20 km/h and a maximum range of 20 kilometers, which can be doable and should be enough for most of the users. However if you would like to use your board at full speed on a slopey terrain, you can generally expect less.\nThe board is powered by a 158.4 Wh battery pack with high quality Samsung cells, which can offer roughly 5-6 hours of usage and can be charged under 90 minutes.\n\n&nbsp;\n\nOverall we think FutureSaw 6.5 is focusing on those who only start their journey with hoverboards, but taking into consideration the build quality and extra possible features, it can be a great choice for everyone  with the purpose of normal daily usage. This hoverboard has 10 inch wheels, which makes it much easier for off-road riding. Stones, gravel, grass should not be a problem with this board.  The tires are also inflatable, which means you can adjust the tire pressure for your needs with a regular motorcycle pump. It comes really handy when your are going on a rocky surface, as it gives you a little suspension support which helps you with balancing and overall comfort.\n\nThe hoverboard comes with six selectable colors containing plain white, blue and black carbon fiber. The other three has more of a street art pattern which also looks really good. As I like to stick with the simplier colors, my personal pick would be the black carbon fiber pattern.\n\nIn this hoverboard you will find the same magnesium alloy chassis as in the FutureSaw 6.5 and the maximum capacity is also the same here.\n\nAt the bottom of the product page, you can see a review video which clearly shows the capabilities, and also how sturdy the buildup is.\n<h4></h4>\n<h4>Speed and range</h4>\nThe same 350W motors have been used as in the smaller versions, but here your will get a lower maximum speed of 18 km/h, and a higher maximum range (25 kilometers).  The lower speed is not a disadvantage at all, espacially if you are using it mainly off the road. The bumpy surface will make you reduce your speed anyways. The 25 km range is a big plus in my opinion, it will let you have several hours of fun.\n\nThe battery capacity is 158.4 Wh, which will be enough for most people's needs.\n\n&nbsp;\n\nAs an extra you also receive a remote control for your board, which can be useful in certain situations. Locking your board does not prevent anyone from stealing it, but it prevents people to use it without your presence.\n\nIn general the main difference between the StabilitySaw and the FutureSaw is the size and the off-road capabilities. We can even imagine a nice muddy track and this board will get you through it without you getting wet. The RockSaw only comes in one color, which may be a problem for some.\nYou can find LED lights on the back and the front as well, providing perfect lighting especially when you are on a surface with dents and rocks.\n\nThe IP 54 dust and water protection is not better that the other hoverboards we have advised, but it will still do the job perfectly.\n<h4></h4>\n<h4>Speed and range</h4>\nThe RockSaw comes with two pieces of 400W motors, one mounted on each sides. Overall the 800W power shall give you enough torque in the hardest situations as well. It will climb 30° degree slopes with ease, even when the surface is not smooth. As an off-road hoverboard, high top speeds cannot be expected, but if you want to use it off the road, you are not likely to use the maximum of 15 km/h.\nThe RockSaw has the same battery system by default as the previous boards but with bigger motors, thats why the maximum range has been dropped to 15 kilometers.\n\nOverall, we think the RockSaw is not for the common audience. If you are looking for an affordable hoverboard with excellent off-road capabilities, then it may be a good choice for you.       "body": "<p lang=\"hu\">Today I would like to introduce you the Revolt 2.0 electric scooter. Revolt is the product of Revoe company based in France who also produce hoverboards, electric folding bikes and electric skateboards. It's not surprising if you are not familiar with the brand or the scooter, because I have only seen it in Decathlon store so far. However I've decided to make a short review about it, because most people who never owned an electric scooter before are usually searching for a reliable, good quality product which will not empty their bank accounts. Revolt 2.0 has exactly these features.</p>\n\n<h3 lang=\"hu\">First impression, design</h3>\n<p lang=\"hu\">The scooter arrives in a stylish paper box in a folded state but nothing fancy. You can find the users manual and the charger next to it. In my opinion for the price range nobody can expect much more and since it fulfills the basic requirements I think its not a problem. After unpacking I have acknowledged that you can not only fold the bar but also both of the handles which saves you a lot of space. You can not even see this option every time in higher priced models. Maybe it was only the test device which did not receive a carrying bag by default, I hope that's the case because it would be good to have.</p>\n<p lang=\"hu\">The scooter in general looks really minimal, every part serves a purpose and there are no unnecassery design elements on it. If you are using a scooter for every day commuting, flashy designs will be the last thing you are looking for.</p>\n\n<h4 lang=\"hu\">Handle bar</h4>\nThe bar is telescopic so you can easily adjust it to your height. I am more than 190 cm and I could still lift the handle by around 20 cm so it should fit everyone. The simple rubber grips are feeling good to the hand, they did not get slippery or uncomfortable even when I used it for more than 20 kilometers. On the handle bar I personally did not really like the LCD display. It's definetly serves the purpose but with the design I was not happy.\n<h4 lang=\"hu\">  <img class=\"wp-image-1620 alignnone\" style=\"font-size: 14px;\" src=\"https://emobilityhq.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/big_e7dfe291-b78d-4613-8210-9cac946a62c5.jpg\" alt=\"Revolt 2.0 Handle bar\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" /></h4>\n<h4 lang=\"hu\">Wheels</h4>\n<p lang=\"hu\">The cost reduction is more visible on the wheels. The rims are made out of plastic, but since the design and the quality is good it did not bother me. For sure you can find exclusive looking wheels which may even be more durable, but for this price I think they are a perfect choice. The rubber tires are not inflatable which has its ups and downs as well. You don't have to worry about punctures, but neither can you adjust the air pressure for your needs.</p>\n\n<h4 lang=\"hu\">Deck</h4>\n<p lang=\"hu\">The frame of the deck is compeletely made out of aluminium and it really looks solid. Below the cover you can find the battery, which makes it a little thicker but I think it looks good. The downside of this construction is, the battery is fixed within the deck and you are not able to exchange it. The battery charging outlet can be found directly on the left rear side of the deck and it's covered by a rubber inlet which helps it to keep dry in wet situations.</p>\n<p lang=\"hu\">The top of the deck is covered with non slipping paper as usual, which you will have to change from time to time. The hub motor is inside the rear wheel, which means there are no bands or chains.</p>\n<p lang=\"hu\">The Revolt 2.0 comes with lights both on the front and rear. They are integrated into the deck, which provides them a good mechanical protection and are quite bright. Unfortunatly I was not able to test them during the night, but I imagine the front LEDs would light up the road ahead sufficiently and the rear lights ensures that you will be noticed in the traffic.</p>\n\n<h3 lang=\"hu\"> <img class=\"aligncenter wp-image-1622\" src=\"https://emobilityhq.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/big_c14f1402-589b-4b0a-b6c9-3fe81e11989f.jpg\" alt=\"Revolt 2.0 Folded\" width=\"348\" height=\"348\" />Transportation and storage</h3>\n<p lang=\"hu\">Lets start with the downside: However the folding design has been realised perfectly, if you would like to fold the scooter's bar for the first times, you will have a hard time doing that. For the first time it really feels that it has been stuck and you need quite a big force to open the latch. I was wondering if it only happened with my scooter, but after I have read the user reviews it became clear that its a common problem. Lubrication helps with that and after you are folding it for 10-20 times, it will become easier.</p>\n<p lang=\"hu\">The folding design however is exceptionally good. It has a low profile from both sides which means you can easily fit it into your car or behind in your apartment. The 10,5 kilogram weight is not the lowest on the market, but still makes the transportation really easy.</p>\n\n<h3 lang=\"hu\">Riding experience</h3>\n<h4 lang=\"hu\">Speed and range</h4>\n<p lang=\"hu\">The Revolt 2.0 electric scooter is really easy to use. After you have turned it on, you can select three speed limitations on the LCD display with the up and down buttons. The first level is around 5-6 km/h which equals to a normal walking speed. The second speed level is around 12-15 km/h and third is 25 km/h. Before you can speed up, first you have to push yourself to get a little speed. It is also a safety function, so the scooter will not be able to speed up if it is not in movement during normal usage.</p>\n<p lang=\"hu\">Even though the specifications say the scooter is designed for 5-15 km runs,during testing I have made around 20-24 kilometers daily in two sets, which I think covers the commuting needs of most people. I was never ran off battery, but even if I did I could get home easily using it as a standard kick scooter. It is unclear for me why some electric scooters nowadays don't have this option. Using it in turned off mode is really easy, you don't feel the pullback force by the magnets.</p>\n<p lang=\"hu\">When you are starting it is advised to use the 1st or the 2nd speed levels, because the torque on the 3rd can be surprisingly big. By simply pushing in the gas trigger, the scooter speeds up silently. And this is one of the biggest problems. If you have ever tried to use a scooter in a crowded city among pedestrians, you know it is really important to get noticed. Since the scooter is almost completely silent even at 25 km/h, you can only depend on the alarm sound or your own voice. In this case I would suggest to either use a standard bicycle bell or get used to shout loudly, because the built in alarm sound gives a really awkward and not so loud beeping which I found hard to hear in a normal city environment.</p>\n<p lang=\"hu\">Revolt 2.0 has a maximum capacity of 100kg on paper. I was not able to check if it can handle more, but it easily dealt with my 95 kilogram body weight and the acceleration was really smooth at all speed levels.</p>\n\n<h4 lang=\"hu\">The braking</h4>\n<p lang=\"hu\">During my test rides I have found the braking system as one of the biggest disadvantages. You can slow down the scooter with an electric motor brake or by stepping on the rear mud protector. The electric brake has a dynamic stopping force, which depends on the speed you are going. Higher speed means bigger brake force. However I have foun d it not sufficient especially at higher speeds. For me it felt like road bikes braking system which gently reduces your speed, but you are not able to make emergency stops.</p>\n<p lang=\"hu\">I have found myself in the situation quite often, when people was closing all my routes and besides using the electric brake, I was stepping on the manual brake really hard not to crash into them. The front wheels are not the biggest, but since the scooter is pretty light you can easily go through obstacles by lifting it up. Anyway it is advised to use the scooter on flat surface, but if you hit 1-2 bumps during your ride, the rear suspension will help you and your scooter, not to get a direct hit.</p>\n\n<h3 lang=\"hu\">Verdict</h3>\nThe Revolt 2.0 Electric Scooter is a good choice for those, who are just jumping into the world of electric vehicles, but still would like to use their scooter every day without problems. For the price which is around $500-$600 depending where you live, you will get a really nice and robust scooter.       "body": "Your hoverboard is doing strange things lately? Are one of the sides faster than the other? Red light flashing and you can't use it anymore? Either you just received it for the Christmas or it happens months from your purchase, it is a known issue and happens because the gyroscopic sensors become unbalanced.\n\nBefore you take it to any professional you might save some time, money and hassle if you know how to calibrate your hoverboard. We will go through the process step by step, which works in general for hoverboards with every brand.\n<h3></h3>\n<h3>Step 1. Turn off the hoverboard</h3>\n\n\nThe first thing you want to do is to power off your hoverboard. You shall locate the power button which is usually on the side or bottom of the deck and press it for several seconds. If it does not solve the problems for the first time, just wait 5-10 minutes and do the process again. This is definitely not a general looking product which you will see every day on the streets. The first thing you can notice is that the scooter's body is one continuous line. There are no ugly connections, only a beautifully shaped body starting from the handlebars and ending at the rear wheel.\n\nThe frame is made out of lightweight aluminium which is fully welded and covered with automotive ABS grade plastic fairings. As a result of this combination of materials is a clean, luxurious look with a highly durable body.\n\nAs I have already mentioned, the riding deck is part of the core body, there is no separation at all. It has a nice curve running from the front wheels to the end of the deck. The stepping area is treaded which offers a good grip for your feet and makes it safe to travel. Believe me, you can have a really nasty fall with any kind of scooter if your foot is slipping off the deck.. This feature is sometimes overlooked but for safety reasons it's indispensable.\n\nIf we are looking at the back of the deck, we can find the removable seat, which also shares the same clean design as the rest of the body. The height is adjustable and the seat is completely removable which makes it comfortable in any positions, furthermore giving you the possibility to use it as a standard standing scooter. The motorcycle grade all-weather tires gives you confidence during the ride. Tires are tubeless and has a recommended pressure of 30 PSI. You can find a small plug sign on the front of the scooter. By pushing it, the lid will open and you can pull out the plug and the retractable power cord. That's right! You only need to park by a power outlet and connect your own cord to charge the battery. OjO users get a wireless security key, which is needed for initiating rides. I hope OjO will gain popularity in a long term, as it has some future potential as well.\n<h3>Appearance</h3>\nLet's take a look at the scooter's appearance. This is definitely not a general looking product which you will see every day on the streets. The first thing you can notice is that the scooter's body is one continuous line. There are no ugly connections, only a beautifully shaped body starting from the handlebars and ending at the rear wheel.\n\nThe frame is made out of lightweight aluminium which is fully welded and covered with automotive ABS grade plastic fairings. As a result of this combination of materials is a clean, luxurious look with a highly durable body.\n\nAs I have already mentioned, the riding deck is part of the core body, there is no separation at all. It has a nice curve running from the front wheels to the end of the deck. The stepping area is treaded which offers a good grip for your feet and makes it safe to travel. Believe me, you can have a really nasty fall with any kind of scooter if your foot is slipping off the deck.. This feature is sometimes overlooked but for safety reasons it's indispensable.\n\nIf we are looking at the back of the deck, we can find the removable seat, which also shares the same clean design as the rest of the body. The height is adjustable and the seat is completely removable which makes it comfortable in any positions, furthermore giving you the possibility to use it as a standard standing scooter.
