In its uniqueness, the feast is all inclusive for males and females; and Ehime nchi ishii (comprising of six clans) are involved in the celebration of AWA.The crab (Nshiko) the mascot of the ceremony signifies the stability of the Igbo man nay Okigwe man. The Crustacean has eight legs, “hard shell, two pincers, and a pair of sharp stealthy eyes. It moves side ways on land; swims in the water and burrows underground for safety and shelter”. However, when you kick it, it bounces back, stable and poised for action.\nAkwaa akwuru.\nThat is how an indigenous Igbo man of Okigwe zone is expected to behave.The bullying from the Colonial masters, Christian religion and Neo-colonization by our political leaders (or rather masters) couldn’t have mattered if we could bounce back to our original collective pursuit as a group with one destiny.\n\n\nThe proverbial Nshiko as we are taught at every AWA ceremony “swam various streams, rivers and oceans but regrettably drown in a woman’s soup pot”.\nThus the AWA ceremony is the time for sober reflection for the man, the head of the household, community or state who may last many battles and upheavals but may succumb to the vagaries of women and materialism of this world,. It is a time the man:\n*Socializes with his family, wife, sons and daughters.\n*Teaches his family etiquettes, ethics and morals.\n*In conjunction with the wife teach the children to keep warm during cold and damp weather.\n*Purges his sons of selfishness and individualism and teach them the good lessons of :\n-Igwe bu ike,\n-Onye aghala nwanne ya,\n-Ibu anyi nda nda,\n-Agba kuo aka nyuo mmamiri ya gbọọ ufufu,\n-Oru obodo\n\n*The time mothers teach their children the recipe and preparation of Indigenous delicacies and dishes.\n\nSponsored by Dr Chineme Mike Anyaeze (Ikoro)",

      "body": "I was able to discover something in Lagos state Nigeria. This is high rate of frozen chicken consumption. In my little discovery, I found out that people  smuggle it through seme boarder. There are so much patronage to frozen chicken and other products because lagosians finds it affordable, available and easier to prepare. Not considering the health implications.\n\nOne may say Africans don't die like that but the bitter truth is that if we don't watch what we consume, it may affect our health. I am aware that there is high rate of population in Lagos but that doesn't mean we can't breed this live chicken in our backyard. \n\nSometimes these frozen foods are preserved with lots of dangerous chemicals that are harmful to our health.\n I live in a small apartment in Lagos where I mingle with nature. I can get some vegetables from my corner and it helps me to eat fresh leaves I breed chicken in my house within 3 months they ready for consumption. The droplet are disposed in my garden and that's the best manure I can assure you that.\n\nMy dear lagosians, as a councillor and an advisor I will humbly suggest that we embrace this  post. In your compound, reserve a little portion were vegetables can be planted. You mustn't do it yourself. You can hire labourers to do the work.
