Hoping that 2020 will be as fruitful for everyone as I believe it will be for me.  2019 has given me many opportunities for trial and error and I think now is the time to get on the base of the hill and climb upward.\n\nWhile I have my simple passive income methods set for now, the one that has always eluded me is automated crypto trading with a bot.  I can’t say that it has necessarily eluded me;  it is just that, like with any trading, sometimes you are on a good run and other times you are on a bad run.  With my current methods of crypto interest and staking, my balance today is always equal to or greater than my balance yesterday.  The “bad run” side really bothers me psychologically which is why most people fail at trading.  Bots are meant to assist with this so that you stay consistent.  But when I see my bot losing,  I tended to pull it out of the game.\n\nWell, not this year (2020).  I plan to set up a bot, let it run, and maybe evaluate its results after a set period of time.  If anyone has any tips on an award-winning setup, please let me know! As I am writing, I am aware that some reading this may not know what a trading bot is or what trading entails in general, so I will give a super brief rundown.  As always, if you want me to go more in depth about it, I will in a future post or simply write me and I’ll answer your questions to the best of my ability.\n\nBasic crypto trading (or trading of anything) is the simple concept of buying something when it is a low price and selling it when it is at a higher price and you end up with more money than you started with.   Seems easy, no?  The hard part comes in on **WHEN** to buy and when to sell.  Traders mostly use some sort of indicator or indicators to alert them to good entry and exit points.  But unless you want to spend hours and hours looking at charts and waiting for that perfect entry, you’ll probably want to automate the process in some way.  That is where automated crypto bots come in, in particular [3Commas](https://3commas.io/?c=tc151514).  Of the ones that I have tried, this one was the most user friendly and easiest for me to “understand” and get into.  You can test strategies, copy strategies, pretty much anything;  all while your crypto stays on your own exchange!\n\nI’ve had 3Commas for several months but had marginal success and probably only logged in twice in the past couple of months.  However, I logged in today to fine tune a strategy that I came up with some months ago but completely put that on hold after seeing what I saw when I logged in today.  3Commas has now implemented grid trading as a strategy!  To be fair, I think their base strategy was a variation of this.  Grid trading is essentially choosing a price range for a pair of cryptocurrencies (a high price and a low price).  Then, setting up grid lines equidistant from one another in between those two prices.  Finally, as the current price moves above a gridline, it sells some of your holdings and as the price moves below a gridline, it buys more.  \n\nFor example, let’s say you think the price of a crypto will fluctuate between $10 and $20 and want to set up 9 gridlines in between.  You would set up a gridline at $10, $11, $12…$20 and every time the price goes up above one of those lines, you sell about a 10th of your holdings (since you have about 9 grid zones); vice versa for when the price goes below a gridline, you buy about a 10th more.  The hope is that the price bounces between at least two sets of gridlines as you should profit every time.  \n\nSo I’m going to try this out for maybe a week and see how I do. But then 2018 hits and I get rickety rickety rekt.  Luckily, onboarding from fiat to crypto took several days (if you wanted to avoid buying at an extreme premium) or I would have been worse off.  However, that euphoric feeling I felt in the last half of 2017 lit something under me.  I knew that crypto, even if not Bitcoin, will be the thing that takes my finances to the next level.\n\nEventually, joined Steem in mid-2018.  I had actually heard about it a few months before from YouTubers but was turned off from the fact that I would have to create likeable content in order to thrive on Steem.  Remember, I’m lazy.  However, when I discovered the power of delegation and that I can earn more Steem by doing nothing, I thought Steem was the greatest thing ever!  Unfortunately, I bought in a bit too early as it was on the decline from $2 and pulled out before I could get hurt too bad, but never gave up hope on crypto.\n\n**Passive Income Hunt as of now**\n\nFast forward to today, I’m happy to say that I have found that holy grail (well the holiest so far).  I have discovered several consistent passive income streams using crypto.  I am able to generate upwards of 12% a year at a minimum reliably (so far) with no trading whatsoever.  I’m always on the hunt for new passive income streams, but these work for me for now.\n\n**My return to Steem and future plans for this blog**\n\nOne may be reading all of this and say “If you found the holy grail of passive income, why are you blogging on Steem now?”.  Well, I just think to myself why it took me so long to find the things I found.  I wish there was one place where I could learn some technique to obtain passive income easy or someone to cipher with who shares my passion of the sedentary lifestyle and also making righteous bucks.  If I could even help just one lazy person out there, I think I’d be okay.  I am also so eager to share some of my passive income techniques using crypto but most of my family and friends shy away from it hearing the FUD and seeing the big dumps that happen.  How could I write a blog to a targeted audience that already has some semblance of what crypto is and what it can achieve?  Then I remembered had this account sitting around for many months doing nothing.  Steem is a coin based around social media.  I could not think of a better place to do this and now I have content to talk actually talk about!\n\nIn terms of future future future plans, I actually want to create a guide on one or two of my methods that can make a nice safe return better than the S&P 500 average return of 7%.  In terms of future future plans, I want to start a small investment club for the super lazy that doesn’t want to read all these words and just want returns now.  But more about those in future posts.  In the very near future, I have always wanted to add crypto trading to my portfolio of passive income but have failed miserably.  On my journey, I have dabbled with trading bots and have found one I like, 3commas, specifically one that connects to TradingView.  In my mind, I have developed the perfect automated trading strat that works in a bull market or bear market.  However, I have yet to find the perfect settings that will yield me exactly what I want from it.  I’m also too lazy to learn proper coding and backtesting methods.  I want to fine tune my bot over time, possibly with some help from the community.  If this thing I’m creating begins to work as I feel it should work, it will be a monster.  Or not, we’ll see.  I hope to blog at least once a week or maybe even a couple times a week but again, I’m lazy.  Hope you guys can join me on my quest.  Carpe diem.",

I could not think of a better place to do this and now I have content to talk actually talk about!\n\nIn terms of future future future plans, I actually want to create a guide on one or two of my methods that can make a nice safe return better than the S&P 500 average return of 7%.  In terms of future future plans, I want to start a small investment club for the super lazy that doesn’t want to read all these words and just want returns now.  But more about those in future posts.  In the very near future, I have always wanted to add crypto trading to my portfolio of passive income but have failed miserably.  On my journey, I have dabbled with trading bots and have found one I like, 3commas, specifically one that connects to TradingView.  In my mind, I have developed the perfect automated trading strat that works in a bull market or bear market.  However, I have yet to find the perfect settings that will yield me exactly what I want from it.  I’m also too lazy to learn proper coding and backtesting methods.  I want to fine tune my bot over time, possibly with some help from the community.  If this thing I’m creating begins to work as I feel it should work, it will be a monster.  Or not, we’ll see.  I hope to blog at least once a week or maybe even a couple times a week but again, I’m lazy.  Hope you guys can join me on my quest.  Carpe diem.",
