| title | #PrincessSyndrome |
| body | The past few months, my girlfriend and I have had LOADS of free time to simply sit around and stare into each other's eyes, as well as discuss various things on our minds. One item on MY mind was how much Recycling/Trash my girlfriend throws out on a weekly basis. I am the one who takes out our garbage each week, and each week it is GLARINGLY apparent how much MORE stuff my girlfriend CONSUMES versus myself. For example, she lives in the suburbs and has one giant blue recycling bin that I drag out to her curb EACH week (usually overflowing with stuff that she crammed into there), whereas I have a tiny little box in my kitchen which gets emptied maybe once every two weeks! The fact that women consume more items than men should not come as a surprise to anyone, but it did shock me just how much more stuff my girlfriend consumes versus myself and it got me thinking. In general, women consume a LOT of products which most men have the luxury of not having to worry about. Tampons, makeup, hair products, skin creams, hair curlers, nail polish/removers, stockings, etc. Men do not require many of these items and all I need for example is a razor, some shampoo, and a bar of soap and I'm good to go! But the multitude of products that women consume does not simply include personal care items. Women also buy LOADS of stuff for the kitchen and dining areas. If the woman cooks and bakes (which mine does, thank god!) then you purchase loads of special bowls, measuring cups, forms, and bread makers, etc. And all of these products not only take up space, but at some point they break and must therefore be replaced. Then there are cleaning products... my girlfirend does NOT go overboard on cleaning products like some women do (hallelujah), however many women out there are cleaning product fanatics that purchase special wipes for the wooden table, special sponges for the oven, etc, etc, etc. Pretty much within every product category you can think of (except maybe car parts and accessories?), the persons buying most of those products is usually women... I'm not some male chauvinist here saying that women are only good for shopping or any bullshit like that. I am the proud son of a VERY modern woman and dating a very strong woman that I have the ultimate respect for. However, I cannot help but point out to her that in general, men consume LESS products than women do on a weekly basis, period. We could argue the point for hours if you so desire, but the fact of the matter is that if you were to take a gigantic box and have ALL women place the items that they consume (for themselves only) into that box, and you were to have ALL men do the same, at the end of ONE WEEK I guarantee that women would take first prize! I remember at University we did a detailed study where we asked each student in my large class what products they consumed that week and the results showed that men consumed much less than women. But I think this is a test that each couple should do themselves TODAY to remind each other just how much stuff they consume together. For example, take one week where you each get a large blue bin and go about your daily lives as you normally do, and when you are done consuming something (whether it be a gallon of milk or an old iPad), you place it into YOUR bin and then count the items at the end of the week (as well as weigh the contents if you so desire). Then, take some pictures to remind yourself and tally up the winner to see if my claim has any validity. Bottom line is, women consume a lot of stuff and the commercial industry goes to GREAT lengths to ensure that will forever remain true. What I find most ironic is that fact that most women have NO idea just how many products they consume and many women actually think of themselves as "environmentally conscious". Even though they may be buying 10 times more stuff than men, the fact that they buy "organic hand soap" makes them feel better about their environmental destruction I guess. One contributing factor in all of this is that women like to be comfortable (and look good while being comfortable). This makes sense if you think about it... back when we were hunters, the men would go out for days/weeks on end to hunt for food and the women would hang out in caves and make things comfortable for themselves. When the men came home with food, everyone could relax in a nice and comfortable environment suitable for "making babies". Women like to look good for their man and they like to be very comfortable in life, I simply call this "Princess Syndrome". Women buy loads of products as a result of Princess Syndrome. All those nice clothes and all that makeup, along with all the nice furniture and home gadgets to make life comfortable are very important products to women. Whereas most men (including myself) are quite happy with a bed, computer, and some food to munch on... LOL. Princess Syndrome starts very early in life (especially here in the USA) where most little girls in America are spoiled rotten. They get all the little dolls, toys, glitter, and clothing they desire, they go to "Little Princess" contests and they think they are the only thing that matters on Earth. They learn from a very young age that "the environment doesn't matter as long as I get my new doll for Christmas". Boys are also spoiled in the USA, don't get me wrong, but little girls seem to have their parents wrapped around their finger because every little girl I know gets anything and EVERYTHING she desires, EVERY TIME! It's no wonder that these little girls grow up to become adult women who are accustomed to consuming anything and everything they desire. Now they are simply consuming more expensive items that say "environmentally friendly" (which most products are NOT)! After pointing this out to my girlfriend, she said: "Yes, that is all rather true, but it's all men's fault! If it wasn't for men, women wouldn't care what they looked like, they wouldn't buy nice clothes or put on makeup without men." Therefore MEN, the moral of this story is... #PrincessSyndrome is all your fault, whether you like it or not! |

"body": "The past few months, my girlfriend and I have had LOADS of free time to simply sit around and stare into each other's eyes, as well as discuss various things on our minds. One item on MY mind was how much Recycling/Trash my girlfriend throws out on a weekly basis. I am the one who takes out our garbage each week, and each week it is GLARINGLY apparent how much MORE stuff my girlfriend CONSUMES versus myself. For example, she lives in the suburbs and has one giant blue recycling bin that I drag out to her curb EACH week (usually overflowing with stuff that she crammed into there), whereas I have a tiny little box in my kitchen which gets emptied maybe once every two weeks!\n\n\n\n\n\nThe fact that women consume more items than men should not come as a surprise to anyone, but it did shock me just how much more stuff my girlfriend consumes versus myself and it got me thinking. In general, women consume a LOT of products which most men have the luxury of not having to worry about. Tampons, makeup, hair products, skin creams, hair curlers, nail polish/removers, stockings, etc. Men do not require many of these items and all I need for example is a razor, some shampoo, and a bar of soap and I'm good to go!\n\nBut the multitude of products that women consume does not simply include personal care items. Women also buy LOADS of stuff for the kitchen and dining areas. | title | Say Hi to A.I. |
| body | I recently traveled to Puerto Rico for Thanksgiving and I had a rather eye-opening experience regarding Google and data gathering. My girlfriend and I were at Starbucks one morning planning our day and figuring out whether or not we should rent a car or hire a driver to explore other parts of the island. We opted for renting a car from Enterprise, therefore I Googled "Enterprise car rental Puerto Rico". Google immediately showed me a list of links and I clicked on the FIRST link on the search results page to dial and an agent picked right up so I gave her my info and pickup time and then asked where to pick-up the car. She said "99 Ashford Ave" and I wrote down the address as we left Starbucks to go locate the car. Walking away from Starbucks we looked at Google Maps to locate "99 Ashford Ave" and realized that the Enterprise car rental pick-up was literally right next door to Starbucks! We looked at each other and laughed, but deep down I got a rather creepy feeling in my gut. I started thinking of all the Enterprise car rental locations (in the dozens) that I had seen in Puerto Rico since my arrival and I wondered what the odds were for Google to choose the one that was only 10 feet away from my current location? I wondered why, for example didn't Google give me the Airport Enterprise Car Rental location as my first search result (a logical thing to do for 'most' people visiting PR)? I came to the simple conclusion that Google knew the exact location of my mobile phone when I searched for the car rental. And it knew that there was an Enterprise location right next door to me. Before picking up the car, we realized that we would rather hang out at our local beach spot and pick-up the car later in the week to explore. Therefore, I opened my rental confirmation email from Enterprise and cancelled our car rental for the day. Ironically, shortly after we got to our local beach spot, a pickup truck slowly drove down the beach past us with "Enterprise Car Rental" printed on the side of it... we both looked and each other and laughingly said "Wow, Enterprise is now following us and they REALLY want us to rent a car!". All jokes aside, it goes to show just how much Google knows about me/everyone at every moment of every day (even when you are on vacation, far away from home). Google knows what I search for, when I search for it, where I am located, what I'm watching/reading, and even where I'm going. Through Artificial Intelligence, Google can also extrapolate to what I'm most likely going to do next (or what I'm probably thinking). As a software developer, I understand exactly how Google is doing this and I cannot help but applaud them for their ingenuity/tenacity, while at the same time fear them for their power. Google data gathering has been a hot topic for years and many people feel that this is an invasion of their privacy (which they opt into every time they use a Google product). The amount of data that Google has on me, you, and pretty much everyone with a connected device is mind-boggling to say the least. All of this data is stored, filtered, sold, and capitalized upon, giving Google Billions upon Billions of dollars per year at the expense of your privacy. Then there's Facebook... oohhhhh Facebook, the mind-fuck of all mind-fucks. The application that knows more about you than your partner and takes "Behavioral Prediction" to a whole new level. Facebook boasts that they can actually impact individuals real-world behavior. By adjusting your feeds, they can make you feel happy or sad, excited, or annoyed, and they can do all of this without your awareness. I can go on and on and on about how fucked up Facebook is, but the fact that this is the ONE application that I REFUSE to use pretty much sums up how I feel about Facebook. Then there's Alexa (or Google Home)... the silent partner in the background that is listening in on your life and waiting for your commands. Alexa not only listens for your commands, but it analyzes your voice to predict behavior by setting baselines and then analyzing when you move away from these baselines. Is your voice loud and angry? Or quiet and somber? Are you manic? Drunk? Sick? Depressed? ALEXA KNOWS! All of this micro-behavioral targeting is directed towards individuals to manipulate them, pure and simple. The scariest part is that ANYONE can buy this data to commandeer the public and manipulate the masses. This is not just a Western World issue, China is the largest test lab for a Digital Surveillance State running on Artificial Intelligence. Not only are they listening in on your phone calls or monitoring your texts and social media feeds, but they have millions of local cameras watching your every move to ensure that you abide by THEIR RULES, 24/7! I recently heard about an instance where a Westerner was visiting China and J-walked across the street in a busy area of Beijing. Three minutes later, his Facebook account sent a message that he had been billed $50 and cited for J-walking. WOW, this is our future??? These dystopian deployments of new surveillance technology are demonstration projects for authoritarian governments around the world. China's grand scheme is to deploy their AI Surveillance System around the globe. They already have 58 countries eagerly lined up to use their technology to monitor their citizens every move. For somebody who loves to travel (and who rarely "follows the rules"), this is extremely disturbing news to me. The scary thing is that these technologies are still in their infancy and Artificial Intelligence is just getting started on manipulating our lives. Within 5-10 years I can only imagine the power that these systems will hold over various populations and I can't help but wonder if/when the masses will wake up to the fact that they are NO LONGER IN CONTROL... |

| title | Together to Mars |
| body | Ann Druyan, husband of the late Carl Sagan and co-writer of the 'Cosmos' TV Series and films such as 'Contact', was recently asked: > "What would Carl Sagan think about the current state of the world?" Her answer which I will get to shortly, reminded me of the endless optimism, open awareness, and vast scientific knowledge that both she and Sagan graciously shared with the world. Carl Sagan was an American astronomer, cosmologist, astrophysicist, astrobiologist, author, and science popularizer. I have had an enormous amount of respect for both Druyan and Sagan ever since I was a child first realizing the endless possibilities of scientific exploration. Their scientific contributions, intellectual prowess, grace/beauty, courage, and open-mindedness were the impetus for me to pursue a career in Aerospace Engineering (which took many wild turns over the years). As a nerdy little surfer kid growing up in San Diego during the 80s, I was fascinated with studying space exploration as well as unlocking the secrets of the universe. I was always reading rather heavy stuff and I remember finding my father's copy of Carl Sagan's 'Cosmos' at which point my mind opened up to the endless possibilities of not only my career, but my own enlightenment. Thus began my life-long fascination with astrophysics and space exploration. Unfortunately, after the tragic 1986 Space Shuttle Challenger explosion, my dreams of becoming an Aerospace Engineer were shattered into a million pieces as every single graduate and undergraduate university program in this field was placed on a 5-year hiatus. Just as I was applying to universities, any and all university professors in the field of aerospace left their university posts to help NASA gain a solid understanding of what went wrong and help ensure that it would not happen again. I will never forget my letter from UCSD stating “although you are highly suited to pursue the Aerospace Engineering program at UCSD, we must inform you that this area of study will be impacted for the next 5 years and therefore not available at this time”… I was CRUSHED… I had dreamed of designing rockets ever since I was a kid and I focused all of my attention to studying STEM. I recall having a sick feeling in my gut, my head was spinning, and there was that nagging sense of "What the fuck am I gonna do now?" What I did end up doing is a story for another day… But the knowledge and ideals shared by Carl Sagan stayed with me and his open-minded approach to EVERYTHING was extremely contagious and inspirational. Some of his thoughts can be summarized here by Ann Druyan, husband of Carl Sagan when she was asked "what would Carl Sagan think about the current state of the world?" > I can speak authoritatively on that because Carl was very vocal in the 1990s, 1980s, and before that. It was his dream that the United States, and Soviet Union, would essentially bury the hatchet, and become involved in an international mission to Mars. He wrote a beautiful piece called "Together to Mars", which was exactly about that. That we could use our machismo and intercontinental ballistic missiles, and scientific cleverness, to go there. We could show that we had attained a degree of maturity, and put our talents to the best possible use. 'Together to Mars' was a concept shared by Sagan at the end of the cold war during the late 1980s where he envisioned the USA and Soviet Union getting over their differences and focusing on a bold mission to go to Mars together. He outlined all the steps necessary to complete such a mission and even got together some of the greatest minds in science for a 3-day satellite conference link-up from Denver to Moscow where leading scientists put aside their political differences and talked about a future joint mission to Mars. Due to the end of the cold war, and later Sagan's death, the Mars mission was tabled. Regardless, Sagan was far ahead of his time and his thinking is still applicable today. I could easily see the United States and Russia working together on future Mars Missions and I see every reason in the world for making this happen now. Two outer-space super-powers merged together with one common goal, to get Man to Mars… this is the stuff of history books! Perhaps now that we have gotten over the "Russian Collusion Scam" purported by Hillary Cinton in an effort to cover-up her own Russian ties, it's a perfect time to rise above and show the world that the USA and Russia CAN work together for the benefit of all humanity. What an awesome way to mend our differences and create a better tomorrow for everyone on planet Earth and beyond. Aside from his aspirations for Mars, Carl Sagan and I have shared many profound observations over the years and I want to shed light on some of the main concerns that I still harbor which include: > 1. We've built an entirely new society based upon science and technology, yet very few individuals have a truly solid and well-rounded understanding of it. Granted, there may be many new STEM graduates these days with various 'micro-focused' degrees, but what NEW knowledge/experience/insights will these individuals actually provide? And will they be remotely capable of 'thinking outside the box' after boxing themselves into their narrow fields of study? > 2. Science is more than a body of knowledge, it's a way of thinking, and a way of skeptically interrogating the universe with a fine understanding of human fallibility. We need to be VERY skeptical of those (Deep State) whom provide and/or hold back scientific knowledge and information from 'The People'. The People must learn to practice their skepticism, otherwise we won't run the government, but the government will run us. > 3. Simply because we have the ability to venture to other planets, this does NOT give us an excuse to destroy our home planet of Earth. Many of the companies pursuing future Mars missions are doing so as a 'back-up plan' in the event that life is no longer habitable here on Earth. This way of thinking is a cop-out, we should be focusing all of our attention to preserving life here on Earth WHILE we explore other planets. We must use our fresh interplanetary knowledge to help make planet Earth MORE habitable, not less. To summarize, Carl Sagan was light-years ahead of his time and he was a genuine master scientist and communicator. I find it refreshing how relevant his words remain as I follow his ever-lasting passion for scientific knowledge and enlightenment... |

| body | So, I finally figured it out... I think I figured out what happens when we die. What's up with my fascination with death as of late you ask? Well for one thing, I have come rather close to death many times throughout my lifetime. Yet for whatever reason I am _still_ here, and that is what fascinates me. What exactly am I still here for??? The ancient Egyptians believed that you had to earn your way into your afterlife by doing good deeds while you were alive. The more good deeds you did, the lighter your heart became. Upon death you would enter into the hall of judgement and declare your innocence from wrongful deeds. If your heart was not lighter than a feather, you could not sail away into your afterlife and you were stuck in your tomb forever. But if your heart was lighter than a feather, you had a free pass in your afterlife where your soul could come and go as it pleased. The ancient Egyptians wealth of knowledge was passed on for millennia yet nowadays many of those beliefs have been forgotten. To the Egyptians, the heart was the seed of all human emotion, will, intellect, and morality. I truly believe this to be the case and I also think that our heart is our moral compass. But first, let me tell you about a conversation I once had with a cardiovascular surgeon. We were on the subject of transhumanism and I asked him if he thought man will be merging with machine anytime soon. He said that this has already been done once the first artificial heart surgery took place in the 1980s. One interesting statement he made was in relation to the patient after the artificial heart was 'installed'. Evidently, the patient no longer felt 'human', he felt absolutely nothing even though he was still alive. This did not surprise me because the heart is where mankind carries their bond to god and eternal life. There are countless sayings recognizing the beauty and importance of our heart: > The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. > They must be felt with the heart. > - Hellen Keller > Your visions will become clear only when you look into your heart. > Who looks outside, dreams. Who looks inside, awakens. > - Carl Jung That feeling in your heart when you see something horrendous, or when you are doing harm to another being. That dull yet nagging heaviness inside of you that nothing can shake-off. The term "heavy heart" describes this best because it refers to the 'weight of guilt' bound up in your heart, weighing you down and eating at you like a cancer. I believe that when we die, our heart truly is weighed. Not on an actual scale against a feather per se, but it is weighed on a scale of heaviness where guilt and regret are measured. If you lived your life following your ego and not caring for anyone or anything beyond yourself, then your heart will be heavily weighted with guilt. Whereas if you lived 'beyond your self' and you offered more good to others than bad, then you will have a very light heart. In Mahayana Buddhism there is something called the 'Heart Sutra' (or The Heart of the Perfection of Wisdom). In this ancient sutra, I believe the heart is where your life's guilt is stored. And if your heart is 'empty' (or very 'light') and you have NOT succumb to your ego and you have truly gone beyond your 'self', then you have attained enlightenment and you can go on to nirvana. > Ill-being, the Causes of Ill-being, > the End of Ill-being, the Path, > insight and attainment, > are also not separate self entities. > Whoever can see this > no longer needs anything to attain. Therefore, the moral of this story is simply to attempt to live with a light heart. Because having a light heart when you die will enable you to live in the afterlife and frolic in nirvana! |

| title | #EndOfFreeSpeech |
| body | Speech is a tool that transcends ALL forms of media and it can be used for good or it can be used for evil. Speech is absolute and it is powerful. But this is no reason to deny FREE SPEECH to the common man unless they are openly promoting violence. Somewhere along the way, Political Correctness became far more important than Truth or Free Speech. Last year I predicted the rather slippery slope that Free Speech would soon wind down. Once I began hearing the Far-Left say crap like "Free Speech reinforces and amplifies injustice" and "Free Speech is Hate Speech", I had to start tuning into the Democrats agenda to better understand their ultimate goals. Soon thereafter, the first phase of their attack was launched and within a matter of hours hundreds of large-audience conservative websites were banned from Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, iTunes, Spotify, Instagram, and Pinterest in what was clearly a "massive orchestrated purge". There were no substantial quotes presented showing any "Hate Speech" and no evidence was brought forth to a jury to decide whether or not these websites promoted violence of any kind. These conservative (yet informative) platforms were hastily taken down in their entirety for basically no compelling reason whatsoever... POOF! Since then, many other Conservative platform audiences have been dialed back between 50-90% so that the Democrats can attempt to completely control the narrative, it's absolute insanity. I thought that the Democrats used to be all about Free Speech... remember Vietnam kids? Have the Democrats become so defeated, so lost, and so disillusioned that as a last resort, they are now saying "Screw It, The First Amendment Must Go?" And what exactly is HATE SPEECH anyway and who exactly decides what is considered hate speech versus a "different opinion"? What definition of hate speech are they using to make these decisions to eliminate hundreds of factual news and informational sites that millions of readers go to on a daily basis in an attempt to get _some_ form truth beyond the lies that CNN shovels down our throats? If we now live in a world where conservative Americans are getting completely de-platformed for simply using their voice, then we have a very serious problem on our hands and a rather bleak future. I don't think anyone should be silenced based upon where they reside on the political spectrum so long as they are not promoting violence. Our country was founded upon the premise that "Freedom of speech and press, or freedom of expression, are 'fundamental rights'. Without these freedoms a truly free society cannot exist. By definition, they allow the citizens to communicate their ideas both verbally and in print. Free expression lets anyone to speak their mind on anything." Denial of such rights doesn’t eliminate fearsome speech - it simply ensures that only the powerful tech giants will have recourse to shut anyone down who uses Free Speech that does not fit in with the status quo. If we don't start fighting for Free Speech now, we might not have the ability to fight for it later because advocating for Free Speech is currently being deemed "Hate Speech"... WTF? Are you kidding me with this bullshit? In a dystopian totalitarian world view, the "allegedly" tolerant Liberals will work as their own social army controlling all speech and silencing anyone who is not completely onboard with their nihilistic views and values. With the mid-term elections coming up, the Democrats know that they can't compete with conservatives in a truthful and open forum. Therefore, it's easier for them to simply censor their opponents entirely. Anyone whom is not on the HRC bandwagon will be deemed Racist, Homophobic, Sexist, Islamophobic, Transphobic, Misogynistic Nazis and hence they will be de-platformed without reason. That doesn't sound very "Democratic" to me. I'm not sure if the social media companies themselves are caving into pressure from the Democrats, or if it is part of their own agenda to control the internet public opinion and political outcomes for their own gain. But it's obvious that there are major double standards going on behind the scenes and it's very obvious that tech giants do not seem to care whatsoever about Freedom of Speech in America. The entire basis for Democracy is that every single person gets a vote. And that's based upon the assumption that voters will make their decisions based upon ALL of the information available to them at large. But now in the digital era, we are being told the free exchange of information on the internet is all of a sudden a bad thing. Tech companies are openly saying that democracy cannot function unless state controlled media tells the population how to think and how to vote, meanwhile they de-platform dissenting users with the click of a button. Should they be allowed to have this kind of power and WHY THE HELL are we giving it to them? Granted, there will always be some psycho groups out there spewing rhetoric that's not in accord with everyone else. But does that mean we should throw the baby out with the bathwater? The main stream news is a failing model and the media giants know this fact. Rather than changing their stance or business model, they instead go after everyone more popular than them online and simply shut them down one by one. At some point somebody needs to step in and save Free Speech before it's too late. This hurts average Americans more than anyone because the internet is where many people (including myself) obtain factual information (since there's no way in hell you can trust CNN, etc). Sources such as Breitbart, Wikileaks, and the Drudge Report are known for their fact-checking and integrity, but they might be next to be de-platformed, who knows? The fact that Google is testing new censorship algorithms in China that basically cripple the free flow of information should scare the shit out of everyone because it's only a matter of time before they start using those same algorithms here in the USA. That will truly be the end of Free Speech and Democracy as we know it. There will be very few options left that you can go to for in-depth, factually accurate, and unbiased information. |

| title | Our Transhuman Future... |
| body | Transhumanists believe that we can and should eradicate aging as a cause of death, that we should use technology to augment our bodies and our minds, and that we should merge with machines, remaking ourselves, finally, in the image of our own higher ideals. The idea of technologically enhancing our bodies is not a new concept. In the past, we made devices such as wooden legs, hearing aids, spectacles and false teeth. Currently, individuals are implanting themselves with RFID microchips to store personal information such as IDs and Credit Cards. In future, we might use implants to augment our senses so we can detect infrared or ultraviolet radiation or boost our cognitive processes by connecting ourselves to memory chips. Ultimately, by merging man and machine, we will produce humans with increased intelligence, strength, and lifespans. Having these godlike abilities will raise a host of ethical problems and dilemmas. At which point many may wonder... have we gone too far? Advocates of transhumanism believe that the rewards will outweigh the negatives and that going beyond the natural barriers and limitations which constitute an ordinary human being, will be the key to our long-term survival as a species. However, the technology needed to achieve these goals relies on MAJOR advancements in the areas of genetic engineering, nanotechnology, gerontology and many other sciences which will take decades to reach fruition. As a result, some advocates - such as Ray Kurzweil, Eric Drexler and Peter Thiel are opting to have their bodies stored in liquid nitrogen and cryogenically preserved until medical science has reached a stage when they can be revived and their resurrected bodies can be 'enhanced'. I'm on the fence at this point regarding augmenting my body and going full-on transhuman. However, as I get older and limbs start falling off, my eyesight goes, or I can't surf anymore... technology may provide a viable option for me to remain the person that I want to be! |

The idea of technologically enhancing our bodies is not a new concept. In the past, we made devices such as wooden legs, hearing aids, spectacles and false teeth. Currently, individuals are implanting themselves with RFID microchips to store personal information such as IDs and Credit Cards. | title | USA Space Force? |
| body | This month, @POTUS announced that we will (hopefully) be launching a new "Space Force" as our 6th branch of the United States Armed Forces. It is intended to have control over military operations in outer space. It would absorb the operations and duties of the Air Force Space Command, a unit inside the United States Air Force that currently handles and supports most of the country's military operations in space. The rationale is to defend assets in space that may be threatened by other spacefaring nations. Considering all of the technological developments and satellites that we currently have in outer space, this is a concept that is way overdue. I'm curious as to what exactly this new branch of forces will be doing on a daily basis and whom will be eligible to enroll. If I was still a kid, I would be SOOOO stoked on this news! I remember back when I was growing up, all I dreamed of was being an astronaut and/or designing rockets, but that dream was shattered once the Space Shuttle blew up on live television and they shut-down all aerospace University programs for the next 10 years. Space Force I'm sure will offer all sorts of amazing new roles for young recruits and I envy the next decades young adults whom will have the opportunity to take part in this program. I mean how could would that be??? So, what is your day job dude? Um, I'm part of SPACE FORCE! |

| title | A Little Help Please? |
| body | Given the fact that I live in San Francisco, the most "Liberal" city on earth, you would think that I would be an extreme-leftist along with all the other ANTIFA fanatics and freaks roaming the streets here. However, I am one of the strong few surviving Libertarians and I must say that I do feel somewhat sorry for all the Democrats out there because they literally have nobody to look up to right now. Every group needs their HERO, they need somebody to look up to, a person who can inspire them to do better… From John F. Kennedy (the last great Democrat) to Elon Musk (the last great inventor), having a role model is a great asset and can provide people hope when they need it most. You would think that the Democrats would have no shortage of "bold individuals" that could shed light on some of America's most pressing issues and actually do something about it (like their nemesis Donald J. Trump). There are examples of a few Democrats whom have made feeble attempts, therefore I will outline a few of them to provide some context here and prove my point that the Democrats could really use a “Solid Role Model”. It's now apparent that Hillary Clinton is no longer a candidate that anyone can look up to and her decades of abusing power, stealing money, destroying countries and taking lives have finally caught up with her, therefore she's out. The Democrats do still have Debbie Wasserman Schultz in the mix, but she may soon be going down for bank fraud and espionage, so good luck with that. Maxine Waters (Mad Max) is still in the spotlight, but a person who openly calls for violence and harassment against elected officials is hardly a role model for kids to look up to and take advice from (not to mention her Crack habit). Then we have all those wonderful Democratic celebrities out there with millions of fans, surely one of them could be a beacon of hope, right? Modonna wants to blow up the White House for example… that sounds like a great way to Make America Great, doesn't it? Then we have Peter Fonda… Now here's a role model for kids for sure… he is SO concerned for the well-being of children, that he demands someone kidnap and rape @POTUS's 12 year old son… what a JackAss! Do these people even stop for one minute to contemplate what they are saying, or are they so immersed within in their own egos that common sense simply goes out the window completely? I mean ALL DAY LONG I am hearing one completely insane comment after another coming from the Dems and after a certain point of humiliation you would think they would huddle up, take a time-out, and go back to the drawing board to find something VALUABLE to offer their constituents. But nope… just one huge fumble after another, and another, and another. I am truly embarrassed for the Dems at this point… we all like a little bit of competition, it's what brings out our "A-game" and forces us all to do better. But for whatever reason, the Democratic Party has thrown in their towel, wiped their asses with it, worn it around their necks for the past 2 years, and will soon be eating it! Maybe that was their plan all along, to replace themselves with Libertarians, hallelujah! |

| title | Love of Sailing |
| body | Exactly one year ago I started taking sailing lessons here on San Francisco Bay in an effort to gain a better understanding of Coastal Passage Making. My goal is to make it through the Offshore Passage Making Program and master all the techniques required to safely sail around the world. Throughout my life I've had countless dreams of boarding my boat and sailing wherever the wind takes me. No cars, no pollution, no people... just me on the open ocean drifting through time, flowing with the wind and the currents without a care in the world. Ideally, I see myself sailing between San Francisco, Hawaii, and Japan once per year with family and friends, or completely alone if nobody is crazy enough to join me. As poetic as it sounds, the harsh realities of offshore passage can quickly become a nightmare if you are not properly trained and well equipped. I have been out in the water on a variety of vessels over the years which has given me enough respect for the open seas to understand that training and preparation can make the difference between life and death. I don't have time to detail the multitude of tribulations I have endured during my travels on ocean vessels, but let's just say that there is nothing more humbling than getting beaten to a pulp on the high seas. I've lived near the ocean throughout most of my life and I've been on the water more than most people, however simply being comfortable in the ocean does not endow one to sail around the world. Therefore, before buying my own boat and embarking on any long-term voyages, I decided to become officially certified in as many levels of sailing as possible. I found a great sailing school here in Sausalito (Club Nautique) that offers all levels of instruction for beginner and expert sailors alike. With each new course that I complete I feel more comfortable sailing a vessel alone and gain more confidence hitting the high seas. There are various techniques that are required to sail properly versus, driving a car for example. In a car, you simply fill the gas tank, start the engine, and hit the accelerator while steering down meticulously paved and well labeled roads. If you run into a problem, you simply pull the car over to the side of the road and get help. However, on a sailboat you are at the mercy of the wind and currents where you must enter a zen-like state while becoming one with the elements. There are no gas stations out at sea, and no civilization in sight. You need to understand the physics of your boat and sails against the wind and currents, you need to know how to plot your course, how to read the stars, how to signal other boats, etc, etc. You must study your charts, forecast the weather, and follow your instincts while navigating though the currents in search of your destination. I do find many aspects of sailing rather similar to my Pilot's training, however there are also just as many elements that are completely different from flying a plane. Some of the equipment and techniques date back thousands of years to when man first realized that he could travel on water. Even the terminology sounds old-school with terms such as Port, Starboard, Helm, Keel, Jib, and Poop Deck (no, this is not the toilet). Unsurprisingly, many of the terms originate from France because the French were master sailors for eons. Every single item on a boat has purpose because you have limited space to store the things that might be needed to survive out on the open ocean alone. Technique is EVERYTHING in sailing and gaining a solid understanding of the forces that propel your vessel efficiently comes with loads of practice. Even the way you tie the knots in your lines can make all the difference during emergency maneuvers. I truly enjoy the adventurous and spontaneous nature of sailing versus flying. Inevitably an instance occurs that you didn't think of or plan for and it is these moments that get your adrenaline pumping full-power. It's the ultimate test of ingenuity and willpower where you must focus all of your attention to the task at hand and have faith that you_will_make_it. Some people find this to be a bit too much to take on for a hobby, but I find it exhilarating. I also absolutely LOVE the solitude, the tranquility, and the vast nothingness of sailing the open ocean. Nothing clears my head more succinctly and nothing makes me feel more content (well, except maybe surfing or flying). The amazing thing is that you have no choice but to relish in the insignificance of your existence here on Earth. You are simply a small drop in an infinite pond where your impact upon the Earth is of no consequence. As quickly as you make your wake with your boat, the wind and currents swiftly sweep it away. You could easily sink down to the depths of the ocean forever with no trace to be found. From a practical standpoint, sailing is the most efficient and environmentally friendly way to travel from continent to continent on your own. You don't need to buy fuel and you are not emitting hazardous waste in any form (which cannot be said for flying). You are simply utilizing natures amazing forces to propel your vessel wherever you want to go. The best part is, you have your own mobile home on water where you can eat, sleep and live on your vessel anywhere in the world. I plan on decking my boat out with solar panels to provide heat and lighting. Freaking AWESOME!!! While I'm out at sea I often let my mind wander to magical places. Due to the fact that I am completely out of reach from civilization and free of any distraction, my imagination begins to invent it's own worlds and scenery. I find myself fantasizing about fictional places and imagining myself in other-worldly environments. The rhythmic movements of the wind and waves hitting the boat puts me into a trance-like state at times, making it that much easier to escape to wondrous lands. These are the moments that I live for, those brief instances where my mind can freely wander in absolute bliss. Whenever I'm out in the water sailing or surfing, I feel as if I am reversing my own evolution and returning to the waters from which I came... |
