But “who” are these members of the community? Basically, anyone who wants to join and support us is part of the community - Presearch does not discriminate. How was i involved:- I am in the financial market industry,so the derivatives section,particularly Forex&binaries,i kept seing a pair BTC/USD,\"bitcoin\",well i trade (&invest in) what i know,whats goin on around it,& i dint know what that was,so i customised what i trade&got rid of what i didn't know,but then i got a new PC,had to customise what i trade,\"Again\"_this time i saw eth=\"etherium\",@a time i had a fascination in Astro-logy/nomy++,(thanx to Neil.D.T),around the time i just learnt about sand-silicon-glass,which got me to study elements on the periodic table,&interested in exciting minerals.So the ignorant me had no idea what mineral etherium was,Lol,so did a research&inevitably led me to Blockchain,&i pounced,lol(got involved).\n\n**Anders:** I been in crypto for around 3-4 years and yes I support multiple crypto projects Presearch. Basic attention token. Nano. DeepOnion. Flash coin. There's my main interest ...\n__________________________\n**_1)When and where did you first hear about Presearch, 2) what got you interested in this project and 3) what do you think distinguishes Presearch - why do you support this project instead of others?_**\n\n**Irvine:** when,end of 3rd quater/begining of 4th quater last year(2017)_thats September-October.\nWhere,well the internet as i searched,lol,coz as i was researching blockchain,to me it appeared evolutionery to internet which was revolutionery,so i made a list of companies that pioneered internet and stood out.so as blockchain is evolutionery to what internet definition has been,therefore Blockchain based(decentralised) Projects,DAPPS,services& inovations will eventually replace centralised companies,so in my \"list\"_search,i met presearch,& it clearly stood out. As the centralised search engine companies,the -relay stick- goes to Presearch as it pioneers blockchain based-decentralised Search Space,without \" violations\" that majority centralised Search companies feed on. E.g, for those who use android devices,in settings-apps,then open any of them,the Permissions those apps have access to is Creepy,yet if u deny them,they stop functioning,lol,so its shoving it down people's throats,lol,thats messed up. Well Presearch doesnt collect that info,and one can customise,& I understand more is coming obviously, Thats Perfect for a search engine. Books have always been the greatest portal to information&other trajectories,even other ways of thinking&many more,but,internet is slowly replacing that,yet e existing providers,from ISP rates' exploiting costs(@least from where i come from):),&specifically search engines+most mediums of comunication,-social media all the way to even basic apps,,are murdering:) humanity by user exploitation, violations,eg, privacy rights,at astronomical degrees,at least there is now hope,:):)_blockchain-decentralisation_Presearch,coz i believe hubs/sources of info like Search engines should be sincere. So all the above,+Presearch doesnt do all those Creepy stuff, while rewarded with PRE as one uses it, Priceles comfort:):)_ thats outstanding.So right now its only Presearch i entirely support,most other Blockchain projects on my list its mere updates,as they have so much to first \"clarify\" before im fully supporting. Well crypto is relatively new to me,so i have narrowed it to 3good entry points,@the idea,or prototype/beta&related,3rd the final product.i almost got in the crowdsale as there was no ICO.i regret missing that one,(still that cautious:) )_But when beta started,wow,so that ambitious idea \"is possible\"_(as google had its claws and roots deep in search industry then)_well i wasnt late for the party yet,early 2018,started using the beta,then have been active since.\n\n**Anders:** I found the project back in the ico days can't remember exactly how I found it.. but after reading all info in the website and white paper I just knew this project was something I needed to help succeed.. then I started being active in the community and found some of the nicest people I have met in the crypto space so I feel right at home. .. my main reason for helping this project is there's nobody else doing anything like this and we really need something like presearch\n______________________________\n**_What does community mean to you and how engaged are you with the Presearch community?_**\n\n**Irvine:** Very 'well engaged',actually,,Thanx to Presearch community,my definition of community has evolved as i now have a beter appreciation of it.Here it is,community,See,involvement in the value addition,by use of the engine(in this case),contributions in the networks, eg, social;feedbacks, participations, actually being heard,your views,people's inputs being implimentented in addition to mere&related conversations,&connections of so unique individuals globally,is now my new definition of community:).\n**Anders:** I love the Presearch community and I feel like am also pretty involved with the community.\n______________________________\n**_Why do you believe in this project and where do you see it in the future?_**\n\n**Irvine:** There is value in non violations of users' data,priceless;transparency,particitipation& engagement, by people(users),&the team,&credibility based on how timelines are met eg,according to the roadmap,or as promised, stated or planned,be it from the whitepaper,or as announced.Again Presearch is intended not to be blinkered,that is,if new better ways come up,technology-inovation-wise, right now particulary Blockchain, that can be backtested,and are a good addition/change,they can be implemented.The difference between trading,&invesitsting is otherwise timeframe,trading being shortterm,investing=longterm,this one i'm investing,swinging for the fence if u will,lol,doubling down,bit by bit from exchanges,(something i NEVER do unless first position is locked_guarantee so to say),yet with PRE im doubling down anyway,lol,why i'm HODLing this one:).So i see Presearch really deep in the future.\n\nAnders: I believe in Presearch because there's nobody else doing the things Presearch do and in a world where pretty much all search engines steal your data and sell it too the highest bidder. So it's nice to know they try minimise the private data they use and pay us for our time .. it's a win win in my book. Like for example the brave browser are doing for content creators .. just combined them and you have a great PC experience.\n______________________________________\n**_What is the biggest perk about this project for you personally, what do you like most about Presearch?_**\n\n**Irvine:** well i dont know what the definition of perk is right now,guese i should Presearch it,Lol,but i assume its the benefits,plus/positive,advantage&related.So i will start with an example&wil use google (as most are familiar with it),in eg,google's 20year span,how many of your queries or inquiries where responded to,i mean google has billions of users right,but really,&who do you know from google who has entertained any of your/anyone's queries or enquiries, how many of those were responded to,personally,:),\"pratically\",as if non of those inquiries/queries matter,so means u dont matter right?_like u just making iritatiing noise to them,lol. I understand there are good guys who work there,but sorry google,had to use u in this example,as otherwise everyone knows google:).In my 1year with Presearch project,(i'm not a Search/I.T specialist), but i understand building a Search Engine is no easy task,yet in that period i have known Presearch,these guys are not hiding,the community involvement/engagement,definitely is assuaring..Presearch is way easy to understand_clarity,in addition to the whens,whats,hows,whys, and related,other potentially good Cryto projects are yet to clarify most these.Other perks i would have to sumarise a lot of the above,which still will be very few of the list of many Presearch perks,and,ultimately,the PRE rewards as i search,(in this desert),i have long waited for the rain,Lol.\nIrvine: well thats easy,absolutely,in a heartbeat,i mean,why not,right,really,why not. Well if there is a boat to a way better place somewhere,1)i would NEED my friends there2)if they realise i knew about Presearch& dint tell them sooner,they'll kill me,Lol.So among my friends,i may be,actually \"am\", the specialist in the environment,so after months of following&reviewing Presearch,its absolutely safe for them to jump in.       "body": "![](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmTeMWTccYNu5qSWb7BzNMFETbKnYf7qjUnb6jJs9NxQ46/image.png)\n\n_[classic “HODL chain” img src= https://t.me/presearch]_\n\n Whether you’ve been in the crypto space for a long time or you’re a complete n00b with no experience, there’s almost no way you have not come across one extraordinary term: “HODL”, or in other modifications HODLing, HODLer etc. Moreover, while most of you are probably familiar with what HODL means, let me briefly explain it to everyone who doesn’t. “HODLing” a cryptocurrency refers to the strategy of buying and holding it long term, which means that the person who “hodls” does not sell quickly or sell according to random, sudden market movements, especially when the markets are moving downwards, or also in longer-term bear markets. However, to best explain the word we will need to refer to where it originated.\n \nSo, let’s take a look at the meaning behind HODLing and the funny story of how this new word was born on December 18, 2013. At this point in early Bitcoin history, the price of BTC had first surged from $15 at the beginning of the year to an impressive $1,100 at the beginning of December 2013. But this all-time high was followed by a rapid and cruel price crash of almost 40%, that scared many crypto enthusiasts into panic selling. But not one exceptional individual with meager keyboard-typing skills under the influence, whose legacy is now known to us as HODLing.\n\nThe term HODL is in fact a misspelling of the English word “hold(ing)” by said particularly passionate and considerably inebriated crypto aficionado/a on the Bitcointalk forum who goes by the name of “GameKyuubi”. At the time, said Bitcoin-talker had no idea about how this very typo was about to make crypto-history and lay out the foundation for a whole new attitude among the crypto community - And that’s how the HODLING started. \nIf, in the future, our grandkids will take college courses on the historical development of classic memes and the beginning of the decentralization movement, GameKyuubi will certainly be mentioned in the annals of cryptonomics as a forward-thinking pioneer.  \n\n![](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmY6nvr7amM7BUQgQSgRaTypxjCG74zdXC1PAmxYVZo489/image.png)\n_(If you have never read the original “I AM HODLING” post, I strongly advise you to do so because, well, it’s hilarious: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=375643.0)_\n\n### HODLosophy – HODLING is more than not selling – it’s a mindset\n\nGameKyuubi, in his/her almost stoic grace, was aware of his/her non-existent trading skills, or to put it as eloquently as he/she did initially, _“pit pat piffy wing wong wang”_ those highs and lows of the infamously volatile crypto markets. Therefore, GameKyuubi stuck to the “know your strengths but also know your weaknesses” mantra with the iron fists of a whiskyfied Internet troll. By taking a strong stance against the siren fearmongers and “trading experts” accusing him of not having sold, GameKyuubi finished his/her short philosophical essay on crypto-economics and market psychology by stating that:\n### \n _“In a zero-sum game such as this, traders can only take your money if you sell.”_\n### \nThis last sentence probably serves as one of the greatest lessons we can learn from wise grandmaster GameKyuubi. However, the more important thing to take away from his/her statement is that you should never let anyone else pressure you into buying or selling or any other important financial or life decisions. The crypto space can be very tough, relentless even. Nevertheless, it’s also a great place to learn many valuable skills that you can use not only in this space but life in general. Some of those virtues include: patience, making your own sound decisions, doing your own research, controlling your emotions (especially during periods of high FUD*  and bear markets), discuss and debate with others without succumbing to tribalism, rumors or generally being manipulated by others.\n\n \n![](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmc9Yawsj5EFqfBekk7ExonZ7UvYWDYbxen531r8PnkdZT/image.png)\n\n _*“FUD” - Another one of those special crypto terms that stands for Fear Uncertainty & Doubt_\n\n### HODLING ever since \nSince GameKyuubi’s original I AM HODLING post, five long years have passed (which is the equivalent of 50 crypto years). For many in the crypto community, HODLING has become a statement, a movement or way of life even. The HODL strategy of “buy-and-hold” is a widespread phenomenon throughout the crypto world. The “HODLers” are the ones who refuse to give in to market sentiments like FUD, rumors or the latest trends. If they believe in a project, they stand by it and don’t sell their coins/tokens in support of its long-term value rather than possible short-term gains or panic sell-offs. The patient HODLer does not chase quick and easy money but instead, puts his money where his mouth is, having faith that the true value of something will sooner or later also be adequately reflected by adoption and in the markets alike. \nHODLing isn’t for those with “weak hands”, which is what panic sellers are often accused of. True-to-form HODLers are long-term investors and believers with nerves of steel, because - as we all know - this space can be unforgivingly brutal and sticking to your plan can be incredibly hard if there are chaos and freak-outs happening all around you, and your favorite Telegram chat-groups start to feel more like group therapy or anger management classes. Therefore, HODL(ing) has become a symbol of strength, patience, and endurance in the crazy world of cryptocurrencies. To give you some insight into what motivates our community and what our members’ thoughts are, we interviewed two of our awesome supporters: Andre and Fabio, who are both very active in our [Telegram chat](https://t.me/presearch). Here are their answers:\n_____\n_**How and for how long have you been involved in the crypto space in general and do you support other crypto projects besides Presearch?**_\n\n**Andre:** I first heard of crypto about three years ago. A friend tried to convince me to buy Bitcoin, but at the time I was not interested, and unfortunately did not do so. I only really got involved in crypto (investing and trading), around middle of 2017. I support a couple of different projects, but Presearch is the only one I actually spend time being part of their on-line community.\n\n**Fabio:** I have been involved in this world for more than 2 years while in the world of cryptocurrency, as in ICOS projects! I work with a few more coins besides Presearch!\n_____\n__*1) When and where did you first hear about Presearch, 2) what got you interested in this project and 3) what do you think distinguishes Presearch - why do you support this project instead of others?*__\n\n**Andre:** I came across Presearch in the beginning of 2018. I was on-line doing some research on decentralized browsers, search engines, web 3.0, stuff of that sort and came across their twitter page. I signed up for the beta testing and have been here since! Presearch is awesome because it is helping pave the way for a decentralized web 3.0. It is a search engine that is powered by the community and benefits its users with PRE ERC-20 tokens. This project is new, but it is growing fast and already has a working application in the real-world.\n\n**Fabio:** The first time I heard from Presearch was on YouTube earlier this year! I was interested in this project because it has great administrators, a great planning, where they do the practical and simple in an efficient way, that differentiates him from other projects!\n_____\n_**Why do you believe in this project and where do you see it in the future?**_\n\n**Andre:** I believe in a future where everyone will have access to decentralized web 3.0. A world wide web free from manipulation from private, and centralized search engines, looking to make a profit from its users. I believe Presearch will play an important role in this web 3.0. It will provide a secure and decentralized gateway to information on the Internet.\n\n**Fabio:** I believe in this project because it does the simple, and yet it pays for it! You do daily searches and still get paid for it! I see Presearch above Google!\n_____\n_**What does community mean to you and how engaged are you with the Presearch community?**_\n\n**Andre:** A strong, united, and friendly community is important for any project to survive. Presearch community is all of the above. Also the Presearch team is very kind, helpful and patient with their community. This allows for the community to show strong support in return for the Presearch team. Everyone gets along just fine.\n\n**Fabio:** The community for me is a second family, they treat me, how they treat everyone very well, besides giving all the support we need!\n_____\n_**What is the biggest perk about this project for you personally, what do you like most about Presearch?**_\n\n**Andre:** Rewarding its users with PRE tokens is definitely a great part of this project. Anyone can help build and improve the Presearch search engine while getting paid to do so.\n\n**Fabio:** Well, its benefit to me is the ease and speed of it, where we're still winning for it. I beta tested the Reddcoin tip bot with other developers in secret and learned a lot of crypto management and community interacting skills through good times and bad times when a part of the project gets delayed. I have been an active domainer from 2001 and found out about Presearch crowd sale through the domaining community. I found the concept of a decentralised search mechanism very intriguing, through non data and keyword collection retention software using blockchain technology. Seeing tech companies for many years collecting compiling and data profiling us on a daily basis with no option to change this as we must opt in to their user terms and agreement and accept them. If we decided not to accept these terms access to the platform is denied or limited at best. Two projects caught my eye Presearch and Hst Horizon State both offering a real world solution for an ever growing community problem. Both were crowd sale or ICO.*\n\n ***1) When and where did you first hear about Presearch, 2) what got you interested in this project and 3) what do you think distinguishes Presearch - why do you support this project instead of others?***\n### \n**Gixxie:** *This is probably going to sound bad, but basically, I got a text from my best friend (who I met through AR games) saying “Yo, buy this”. So… I threw a couple hundred at it. From there I joined the Slack channel and would help with getting the scammers kicked and now I try to assist in the chats when I can.  I kinda just fell in love with the project and what it stands for since most people have not realized that a person's overall privacy is basically an illusion.*\n### \n**Shane DotCom:** *I first heard about Pre through the domaining community. I read the white paper and liked the concept of being able to privately search through a decentralised search mechanism. And the token mechanics intrigued me. The adoption of business advertising use through the purchase of pre tokens I could see a real world use for pre and its tokens. With the addition of an app coming soon exciting times ahead for the pre community.*\n\n*Offering a reward based product of up to 8 tokens per day and allowing a person to privately search in my opinion distinguishes pre from its competition. I bought in at crowd sale then joined the Telegram community and was one of the first beta testers of the pre search engine. Searching each day for over 9 months has been an exciting journey. Seeing so many crypto projects offering so many promises with no real use pre to me was the project I was looking for. I support pre because I support an internet free from data collection keyword monitoring and my own personal information free from being sold to businesses for ad placing every time I use the internet.*\n### \n***What does community mean to you and how engaged are you with the Presearch community?***\n### \n**Gixxie:**  *Community- that word has so many different meanings and can either turn into something amazing or something horrible. What is nice about the Presearch community is admins is they are active in doing their best at keeping the community members protected from those who are out to take advantage from members who are not as knowledgeable about the various scams.*\n### \n**Shane DotCom:** *Community in relation to any crypto project is one of the most vital parts of a successful crypto business. The reason most of us got into crypto was because of a feeling of not being heard or appreciated when it came to the finical sector and the security of our funds under 3rd party control. We finally have a chance and opportunity through crypto channels to voice an opinion, talk to the head developers and a chance to input ideas into a project. Early on I was more passive in the community as i saw people like Nikolaos who was very active and a great communicator of pre now he is admin. I have stepped up my game in the Telegram channel as I saw a unfair negative vibe starting to creep in. Pre has delivered on all promises to me and I wanted to show my side and my pre experience. I collected so far 1,900 tokens where I received my email on the day stated with my account unlocked and available for withdraw they were even willing to pay the gas fee. I wanted to show my side to the community.*\n### \n***Why do you believe in this project and where do you see it in the future?***\n### \n**Gixxie:** *“Nothing is ever free”- Many people grew up with that quote. With the advances in technology, that quote has been forgotten in everyday life. The reason why so many things are “free” is because YOU have become the product. Your cell phone provides extremely valuable data when combined with X amount of other people’s data. You may not realize it, but everything you do assists corporations to gain the insight needed to adjust their advertising. The main challenge for Presearch is not only “taking down” household names, but making society become aware of why Presearch is valuable and a needed change.*\n### \n**Shane DotCom:** *I see pre building on the community numbers and overall adoption of the pre product tying into full business adoption. Being able to use pre tokens to purchase business ads is a real world token use purpose. The app release will allow a full one stop use and ease for business and customer adoption. Pre will also hear its community and listen to its ideas for any future product that they may be needing or seeing a future use for.*\n### \n***What is the biggest perk about this project for you personally, what do you like most about Presearch?***\n### \n**Gixxie:** *Biggest perk will be the rewards for using the search engine. I am excited to see it grow into its own independent search engine and be able to see unbiased search results that are not based on my past searches and some systems assumption of what I want to see.*\n### \n**Shane DotCom:** *I think the reward mechanism was a great start and incentive in kick starting pre and the community engagement in the social media side. But I like that we are finally offered a choice of how we are able to search. I believe that in a free society we should be offered a choice I should be able to search the internet and know that my data and keywords are free from collection profiling and for sale for ad purposes.*\n### \n***Would you recommend Presearch to your best friend, and if yes, why?***\n### \n**Gixxie:** *My best friend referred it to me. I have referred it to a couple coworkers, friends and random people I run into. It's a interesting project and for someone newer into understanding crypto it has the links you need at your fingertips to dive deeper into the rabbit hole.*\n### \n**Shane DotCom:** *As per reasons listed above I believe in pre and its token mechanics. My friends, family all use pre as their daily search engine.
