      "body": "If you read yesterdays blog post, you know that I picked some flowers to use as a reference for my paintings practise today. I put them between sheets of paper, and pressed them under books over night. Unfortunately, not all of the flower turned out as well as I hoped. Some of the flower petals fell off, leaves folded in awkward ways, and they were still soggy and damp, which made them hard to move around. I should have let them be for some more days, just to let them dry completely before moving them. That would make them much easier to handle.\n \nOne of the leaves from a rowan tree turned out great, though, and I had something to work with. I sketched roughly the shape of the leaf, before started to paint. I probably used about two hours (including drying time between layers)  on the painting, and I got to really understand how the watercolour works. The most challenging part was definitely the shading and blending colours.       "body": "<html>\n<p>It is the start of the week, and I am ready to learn something new! Few days ago, I bought myself a new set of watercolour paint, new brushes and watercolour paper. I recently startet to get inspired by watercolour paintings, and never have I tried to paint in a serious matter, just some doodling now and then. I will this week paint with watercolours, as my weekly obsession, and my goal is to paint at least one picture I'm pleased with. &nbsp;</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><strong>Step 1: Test out the equipment<br>\n</strong>The first thing I did notice, was that it's pretty intimidating to have a blanc sheet of paper in front of me, with no idea of how to start. This was my first time using watercolour from tubes, the only experience I've had with this medium, was the kind of cheap, hard, paint you usually buy to children. I therefore decided to test every colour, to check how pigmented they were.&nbsp;</p>\n<p><br>\nhttps://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmUtTnYvqgrPZJnLbUzhLzDKDxABeMRoszEsf2CgnvPix4/IMG_0533.jpg</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><strong>Step 2: Watch a ton of youtube videos and gather inspiration from Pinterest<br>\n</strong>After some minutes with doodling, just to get familiar with the paint, I stared to look for some inspiration and tutorial on the web. Pinterest and Youtube were my main sources, and anything that could help me practise different painting techniques. A lot. I used the almost the rest of the day just to follow tutorials and to paint after pictures I found online.&nbsp;The difficulty was pretty easy, to boost my self confidence, and to have a natural progression throughout the week.       "body": "I love to learn something new, to gain new knowledge and require new skills. But everyday distractions steals a lot of my time and motivation. It is way to easy to just sit down and watch youtube videos, play addictive games or just spend hours surfing the web.
