I look at the contenders, Hilary Clinton the considered safe hands whether she is or not, and then Donald Trump the loose cannon.\n\nI am acquainted with many Americans; they are all level headed and genuinely nice people.\n\nWith saying that, I would imagine that the majority of Americans are the same.\n\nMr. Trump what can I say, my thoughts are that he is a con man, he is bombastic, a bigot and a bully. He is a showman with little or no ethical, political knowledge and if elected will cause the ruination of the United States. \n\nMany think that he is the saviour? Saviour of what; his money, his lifestyle, his less than safe businesses( do not believe everything he says about them or money). Everything will be for Mr. Trump because Donald Trump thinks only about himself and those around him. \n\nBelieve me; the Presidency will be just another money a making scheme, and if you think President Clinton's indiscretions were bad, just wait.\n\nHe has short term memory loss it appears, denying that he makes statements shortly after making them. I watched it in real time; it is quite unbelievable. \n\nCan you imagine the scenario where he presses the nuclear button, and five minutes later says, no sorry it was; Hilary Clinton, the news media or anyone else he can think of but not himself. \n\nHis mental instability and denial of reality make his responses dangerous and would get me to feel uncomfortable. \n\nHe is a megalomaniac, dictionary definition; an unnaturally strong wish for power and control or the belief that you are very much more important and influential than you are.\n\nThe last and probably the better-known megalomaniac fortunately or unfortunately for us died April 20. 1945, and he was a genuinely loose cannon. He became a dictator(as D.P. would wish to aspire to) of the highest order and tried to rule the world.\n\nI can suggest further similarity's which are quite disturbing.\n\nIn one, he has a problem it appears with a dislike with anyone who is not a white American, such as African American Black people, Latino's, Mexicans and Hispanics. Possibly this lends credence to his bent to his white supremacist tendency.\n\nThe other tried to create a white, fair haired, blue eyed super race, anyone who did not fit here, treated as lesser citizens.\n\nOne, if someone opposes him, he tries to destroy them in one way or another, references the media, ex-workers, and small businesses.\n\nThe other would put them up against a wall and shoot them\n\nOn the subject of faiths.\n\nOne has a problem with Islam, the religion of Muslims, and would wish to exclude many, if not all, from the country, he believes that they are all, in some way, connected to Islamic terrorism.\n\nThe other's was that of Anti-Semitism, and everyone knows what happened then.\n\nNow we have the problem of sexism; one insults the female community in America, more or less indicating, as did the other, that women are of a lower status to men. \n\nI must add that now we have a conversation reported, from a video with D.P. as the principle speaker, extolling the rights of wealthy and famous people that it is permissible to; touch, kiss or grope the private areas of women\n\nI do apologize if this offends anyone, but I study people and try to view differences and similarities. Suffice to say I am not a supporter of D.T. as I am not a supporter of the other dictator. His falsehoods are so striking, one cannot see people, decent minded people, being fooled by this con man.\n\nI know that many want change, but D.T., this is a radical solution will cause you more problems than you have now, so please work for change in a democratic( not the political party) way.\n\nJust my opinion and observations, which I am entitled to expound.\n\nIs this what you want America!",

NEVER GIVING UP, despite, in our terms, the tasks they undertook were of modest complexity, the work for them was, in fact, a mountain that they had to overcome.\n\nI observed the above when actively working in a disability day-care centre in Scotland.\n\nI have learned much from that experience, grit, determination, and the will to succeed. \n\nThese described elements I still employ even at the age of, seventy-three years.",

      "body": "It was a beautiful day, the sun shining and wispy clouds floating in the blue skies. There was a soft breeze cooling the warm afternoon.\n\nWhen was this idyllic afternoon, it was a September day in nineteen fifty-four. Present were my fourteen-year-old brother, the other boy from the village and myself; we were eleven-years-old three years younger than my brother. \n\nWhat was the occasion, well, it was one of a cloak and dagger type of assignment?\n\nI remember it well, we three, were sitting in a field under a hawthorn tree, well away from habitation. The only company, a  few cows, and sheep. Now the story can unfold.\n\nMy brother removed from his pocket, a rather crushed but not broken cigarette solicited from my mother's cigarette packet.\n\nNow the moment of truth, a box of matches were produced, and my brother lit the cigarette. He passed it to me. Unfortunately, I did not see the change in the colour of my brother's face.\n\nI sucked the smoke into my mouth and inhaled. I started to sweat profusely; the white clouds began to spin around my head, it seemed, then I was violently sick.\n\nWhy oh why did I not see the light. Instead, I carried on to the next cigarette; that was to be the mode, for the next forty years.\n\nCan I add a little extra piece here, at a shop/cafe just outside the school gates, where one was able to buy a pack of 'Domino' for a couple of pennies(tuppence as we would say in the day)? They were a small cigarettes packet not much bigger that a domino piece, and it contained three cigarettes with matches stuck to the back of the pack. You could also buy a 'king size' cigarette but that cost threepence(thruppence as we would say in the day).\n\nFast forward some forty years, with this song in mind; Sarah Brightman & Andrea Bocelli - Time to Say Goodbye. \n\nThis song emanates the sentiments and the torturous mental battle when one gives up cigarettes, apart from that, I love to listen to this song.\n\nWith this song in mind, I refer to the smoking and what it has done to me.\n\nMy state of health was such that I still could not do without the nasty 'weed.'\n\nI found I had difficulty in going up the stairs to bed, without stopping at least two times; there are thirteen stair steps. It seems to be okay when I am in bed.\n\nIn the morning I come down from my bedroom straight to the toilet, there I vomit several mouthfuls of black speckled mucous, acrid in both smell and taste.\nMy next action was to get a cigarette with my morning coffee, so the next smoking day goes on.\n\nThe cure was a bit of a surprise to me, my daughter said to me, Dad, if you stop smoking I will never smoke in my life.\n\nIt was something that affected my thinking; my schoolgirl daughter worried enough about me, to suggest this.\n\nI acted swiftly, to fulfill my little girl's wish. I found, in the first two weeks of stopping, that the craving was so intense, that I almost gave up.\n\nMy resolve, in many ways, was tested during that early period. Such as when I was with one of my social care clients, he offered me a cigarette.\n\nI did take the cigarette and put it in my pocket.\n\nThe end of this story is almost a replay of that time in nineteen-fifty-four.\n\nMy next client call was in a neighboring town some twelve miles away. During the journey, I pulled into a lay-by.       "body": "I can understand where this post is coming from, you meet, you fall in love. Courting and living together are great, you love, you enjoy each other, doing and sharing so much together. \n\nThen you marry and the reality strikes and everything changes, why, no one seems to know the reason for this.\n\nMy first marriage was relatively short, around five years, I had to leave, as my wife was a barbiturate addict. \n\nI will not go into detail here as it is not line with the post. \n\nWhat is an interest to the post is did we marry for love?\n\nNo, we married because of pregnancy, as one did in the early nineteen sixties. \n\nSo the loving relationship then marriage never took place in this instance. \n\nFrom this dysfunctional relationship that we were in, it was fortunate the child was distanced from the problems and has since had a secure life, with much success, without either of her parents.\n\nMy second marriage was what one could call, an almost love, relationship then marry.\n\nWhat appeared to be a reasonable, loving relationship lasting for several years, with two lovely children to prove this point.\n\nThen came the first of my wife's affairs, all hush, hush behind my back. I can assure you that it hurts, we did talk about it and decided to carry on.\n\nThe 'love' that we had is no longer in the marriage; we became two people living in the same house.\n\nThen came the second and third affair, the latter with a close relative causing further deterioration of our relationship. Reluctantly we stayed together, for the children.\n\nWhen the children had left school, my wife had a further affair, this the one that ended the marriage.\n\nI stayed on my own for the next twelve years, with no relationships, until four years ago. I met someone and a relationship developed in a beautiful, loving way. \n\nAfter twelve years, still married to my wife but living separately, I applied for and got a divorce, to justify my new relationship.\n\nI am now living happily with my new partner, life is good, but we are not contemplating marriage yet. We shall leave that for a further couple of years until I am seventy-five, then to see if we can if we can make a success of it.",

      "body": "Most of these early images were taken with a very cheap camera, all I could afford at the time. \n\nThis was at a time in the mid 1990's, where I did not have any money, just the desire to improve my skills. The camera was as a result, a beg or borrow scenario.\n\nThe later images were taken by myself using a better camera. I now use a FinePix S5700, which meets most of my needs.\n\nThank you for your concern, but rest assured things are improving.",

      "body": "Can I say at the outset that I have never had any formally constructed training in the art described the following post and subsequent posts showing my self-taught art\n\nMy only connection to art is as follows;\n(1) As a child, I did become quite good at drawing cartoon characters from these comic book's; Dandy, Beano, Topper, Our Wullie and The Broons.\n(2) At college part of my course included Technical Drawing, which does provide one with an idea of perspective.\n(3) When on a Job Training Scheme, I was sent to a school that was offering art as a subject, with the little encouragement from the tutor's they left me to my own devices. The course included eight days of questionable tuition, one day per week. I did not benefit.\n\nThe story proper starts around nineteen-eighty-eight. At that time I was employed in a care home.\n\nI was involved in the care of the residents, but also asked to be the activities coordinator to stimulate the clients through certain periods in the day.\n\nCards, dominoes, knitting, crochet and activities like this did not go down well, they all preferred to sleep.\n\nI decided to try and create some basic models which when moulded the clients could paint.\n\nI proceeded to make a couple of basic models from clay, a large butterfly, and a bird in a tree. After making a mould, I could then get working making 'whites' for my clients to paint.\n\nThe care customers enjoyed their new occupation. I unfortunately left shortly after.\n\nRefer to; Alcohol, Alcoholism, Realism and Cure(?) The council also offered us help in set up, getting a bank loan, and providing subsidized work places.\n\nAt the end of the course one of my commission models was presented to our local Member of Parliament.
