In Bermuda, perhaps. Any island. Antarctica, maybe. It will be named Ancapistan. All adult residents of Ancapistan will be made paid according to their aligment. The rest of us will live outside of Ancapistan.\n\nAncapistan as a deterrent:\nWhat if we then wrote an app called \"Nuke 'Em\" that we installed on everybody's phone. Yes, hooked up to the world's nuclear missile system. What if we don't give them the same app? What if we then told the residents of Ancapistan: if you piss us off with your laws or enforcement thereof, we'll nuke you. If you don't yourself follow the laws you make, we'll nuke you. Then we'll rebuild it and do it again with the next set of people that decide they want to govern us. False accusations made by anyone outside of Ancapistan get you sent to Ancapistan. If the super-majority of the populace outside of Ancapistan votes to Nuke ‘Em, then all children are evacuated by adoption agencies and the adults are liquidated. No ruler may move their primary residence outside of Ancapistan.\n\nAncapistan as a welfare system:\nIf you want to move to Ancapistan, for any reason, you receive an annual stipend of $150,000 per year and full HR benefits. All of you live on the island together. You have to wear a logo depending on which camp you're in. Ruler, welfare recipient, and criminal. Vacations abroad for rulers must be approved by popular vote in the sister app: Rate Them! Welfare recipients may accept employment outside Ancapistan at any time and relocate as desired, surrendering their stipend and negotiating for competitive benefits in the process. Welfare recipients are employed in the service sector in Ancapistan, and may also be employed in law enforcement franchises inside Ancapistan. All Ancapistan welfare recipient protection, rights, and HR policy will be negotiated by their employing corporation, franchise, guild, or cooperative.\n\nAncapistan as a prison system:\nInside Ancapistan: Murder, rape (excluding non-consent contracts with sex workers), human trafficking, and sexual contact with a child carry an instantaneous death sentence by bodycam footage.\nOutside of Ancapistan: High crimes are murder, rape, human trafficking, and sexual contact with a child. We make every effort to capture you alive. English common law applies, full investigation. If you identify yourself as a non-active pedophile that has not had sexual contact with a child, we relocate you directly and immediately to Ancapistan to live. You’ll be employed by the physical maintenance and janitorial sector with HR benefits. All Ancapistan residents are subject to instantaneous death for high crimes. Non-violent racism is not considered a high crime.\n\nAncapistan as a legal system for the whole world:\nInside: The rulers are fair game for the criminals, excluding any children. Murderers and rapists inside Ancapistan will be injected with the bodycam poison as soon as the act begins, while signaling rescue forces for the victim. Residents retain their right to self-defense, as well as remuneration or other justice in event of a lesser crime.\nInside and outside Ancapistan: Local jurisdiction applies. Being found guilty of a high crime gets you sent to Ancapistan. Purposefully making a false accusation of any high crime gets you sent to Ancapistan. The right of self-defense with any organic, projectile, or energy weapon remains intact everywhere in the world. No child can consent to a sex act, ever.\n\nAncapistan as an economic system:\nInside Ancapistan: No resident of Ancapistan can own land property outside of Ancapistan, nor own stock of any corporation or government. They may freely purchase and import any product on the open market, except for humans.\nOutside Ancapistan: We employ people to monitor and report on Ancapistan. This revolutionizes the tech and IT sectors, along with the energy and data sectors. As technology develops other sectors of the economy advance. We form news organizations to search the bodycam footage for cases and report significant crimes. Humanity can shift it’s focus to advancement. Cleaning up the earth, space travel, innovations.\n\nAncapistan as the Sex Work Capital:\nIt can give those a way that want to be sex workers a way to be sex workers safely and legally. Sex workers can engage physical contracts inside or outside Ancapistan, servicing the rulers, welfare recipients, criminals. Since no ruler may move outside the island, and no criminal may ever leave the island, they get a way to satisfy their carnal desire. No murder allowed, non-consent fantasy contracts negotiable by the sex worker's guild, employer, or representative. But we decide on currency out here. We can use A's or whatever our banking corporations and crypto-currency developers come up with, and exchange between them. Rulers don't get to decide what we use for currency. Period.\n\nAncapistan can serve as a Child justice and adoption system:\nInside Ancapistan: High crimes will trigger immediate intervention. All residents will be fully aware of the consequences. All adult residents are monitored by 24-hour bodycam/drone, children are utterly safe.\nInside and outside Ancapistan: If a pregnant woman wants to give up their child, they can negotiate contracts for compensation with anyone in the world via an adoption agency. Any trafficking, sexual contact, or other abuse of a child warrants the most expeditious justice.\n\nWe'll decide how to deal with the rest outside Ancapistan.\n\n\nThat's as close to anarchy as I think we can get. The opposite of Panarchy. A Reverse Hunger Games. Purge-land.\n\nAncapistan.",

      "body": "This is for everyone that claims that libertarians complain but never offer solutions. By now we’ve all seen the egregious corporate welfare, cronyism, and government usurpation of power in the various COVID legislation passed in the USA. Rep Thomas Massie was the most vocal opposition, sticking with his principles as an advocate for free markets and limited government. For his trouble he has been excoriated in the media, and has even received death threats. Other dissenters have been similarly treated.\n\nThe common narrative is that libertarian philosophy has been dealt a fatal blow by this panic-demic; somehow it has been proved that the free-market is ineffectual. Naturally, the Democrats are driving as hard as they can to implement their centrally planned nanny-State and further transform the US government into their version of a liberal utopia. Even the supposed “limited government” GOP has jumped fully on board with the centrally planned reaction. This bipartisan effort has the Federal Reserve dumping trillions into the banking system, buying up assets, and congress dishing out corporate welfare to Wall Street. Even some alleged libertarians are falling in line; abandoning principle out of fear. \n\n\nThe only corporate welfare that should have been in the bill:\n1) A reduction in corporate tax rate from 21% to 18% for businesses that make work from home permanent where technically possible,\n\n2) A second reduction in corporate tax rate from 18% to 15% for businesses that also allocate at least 14 days of additional sick leave to all employees for CY20,\n\n3) A third reduction in corporate tax rate from 15% to 12% for businesses that produce and make available to essential services and to the public one or more of the following: ventilators, N95 or better masks, soaps, hand sanitizer.\n\n4) Block grants (not loans) to states for local small businesses that are technically able to allow their employees to work from home but lack the necessary infrastructure to do so.\n\n\nThe only aid for individual Americans that should have been in the bill:\n1) Restore a free market in health care by permanently separating health insurance coverage from employment, so that the unemployed, furloughed, and quarantined individuals and families can maintain coverage,\n\n2) Uncap HSA accounts, suspend contribution and spending limits for CY2020,\n\n3) Suspend penalties for early 401k/IRA withdrawal for CY2020,\n\n4) Suspend federal income and payroll taxes for CY2020,\n\n5) Block grants to states per capita to fund a tax-free stipend of $1500/mo to COVID patients for up to 6 months of unemployment,\n\n6) Block grants to states per capita to fund a tax-free stipend of $1500/mo for those laid off or furloughed by containment efforts for up to 6 months,\n\n7) Block grants to states per capita to refund CY2020 education taxes to parents with children in the shut down K-12 public school system, to cover cost of homeschooling and tutors/online curricula.\n\n\nContainment steps that should have been in the bill:\n1) Incentivize rapid development and deployment of COVID antibody tests to determine the number of cases, identify those at risk, as well as any naturally incurred immunity for those recovered,\n\n2) Clear Federal bureaucratic red tape that is preventing the medical sector from bringing new testing technology to market quickly,\n\n3) Clear Federal bureaucratic red tape that is preventing other sectors of industry from joining the containment effort production,\n\n4) Publish cleanliness standards and \"social distancing\" best practices to minimize the spread of contagion, as researched by Mayo Clinic and other medical organizations.\n\n\nCivil liberty protections that should have been in the bill:\n1) Right to assemble. Nobody should be forced to stay home 24/7, as long as they are adhering to social distance best practices and cleanliness standards (masks in public, wash hands frequently with soap, etc) as deemed prudent by the municipal or county government. Indeed, suicides due to quarantine isolation is trending upward.\n\n2) Right to travel. Individuals may travel for business or pleasure so long as they observe best practices set by business establishments, employers, and destination governments\n\n3)Right to engage in commerce.\n       a) Retail and warehouse establishments may charge a \"supply maintenance\" premium on purchases of sanitation products, bottled water and other drinks, in excess of 1 bulk unit.\n      b) Regarding foodstuffs, retail and warehouse establishments may limit quantities per customer in order to preserve supply.\n      c)Private individuals may resell, trade, or barter goods, foodstuffs, and services with willing customers at mutually agreeable exchange levels.\n\nHow it should have been funded:\n1) Suspend all current military and intelligence actions overseas, quarantine troops for three weeks, then bring them home,\n\n2) Cap all military and intelligence spending to $100 billion per year going forward, with the difference in spending going to the above plan,\n\n3) End the drug war and reallocate that entire budget to the above plan,\n\n4) Suspend non-essential parts of federal government indefinitely, while decentralizing their roles and responsibilities back to the states.\n\n\nWhat should not be in the bill:\n1) Unrelated spending,\n2) Federal reserve meddling in the economy,\n3) Restrictions on civil liberties and commerce.\n4) Taxpayer or new-debt-funded bailouts of industry or Wall Street.\n\n\nThis solution allows for free market innovation and the streamlining of regulatory burdens while still addressing the broad requirements for action with a minimum of federal involvement. So the next time a Democrat or Republican, or a media mouthpiece, or political crony tells you that the State is the only way to handle a pandemic: show them this.",

      "body": "Tulsi Gabbard is looking more and more like the one that can topple the Trump regime. It's early stages, and things could always change, but she seems to be pulling the anti-war left, anti-war right, and anti-war libertarians together. That's a potentially powerful combo. Her outspoken anti-war stance brings echoes of Ron Paul on the issue, just as powerful when viewed through the lense of their shared service in the military. And like Ron Paul, the corporate media is doing everything they can to paint her as a fringe lunatic that is disconnected from the public pulse.\n\nGranted, Tulsi is a pretty hard left on economic issues, no doubt. She's a younger, savvier Bernie Sanders. However I see that as a potential opportunity. If you have media connections, or operate media, reach out for interviews. If you chair a county or state party, reach out to her campaign to see if she'll engage. Get her in front of an audience. Get her talking to economics gurus. At least sound her out to see if she's willing to change her ideas based on new information.\n\nWith rare exception, none of us started as libertarians; we all came from somewhere else. We should absolutely be staunchly married to our principles; pragmatism has to come in where we're willing to talk to people that may not align right now. It's the same seed-planting exercise that we've been engaged in.\n\nThe fact is that the libertarian party infrastructure is notoriously weak. The schism between our various caucuses makes it extremely difficult for us to build out that infrastructure. Personally, I'm a firm believer that one should use all the tools that are available. Mises Caucus is building infrastructure; use them. Local parties are building non-partisan grassroots at the muni/county level; support them. And if we can't get a radical candidate on the stage at the national level; concentrate on planting seeds.\n\nEven if the seed is going into ground that you don't like the look of, it doesn't behove us to descend back into tribalism. We have to be willing to be pragmatic with our coalition building in order to advance on changing hearts and minds through our principles.",

There <em>must</em> be an \"us\" and there <em>must</em> be a \"them\".</p>\n<ul>\n  <li>'Orange man bad' or 'MAGA'.</li>\n  <li>Xbox or Playstation.</li>\n  <li>Patriots or Packers.</li>\n  <li>Republican or Democrat.</li>\n  <li>Pro-life or pro-choice.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>The idea that another person may not belong to \"us\" or \"them\" simply does not compute. Some people will even expunge information that conflicts with their worldview. But lately, a new paradigm has begun to gain traction: libertarianism vs authoritarianism. The authoritarians are those that believe in the old dichotomy. The libertarians believe that the human experience is so unique that no one should be forced into a 3x5 box.</p>\n<p>So again, one of the most divisive issues of the age; regardless of your political persuasion:</p>\n<ul>\n  <li>A fetus is not a human being until it emerges from the womb.</li>\n  <li>A fetus is a human being from the moment a sperm cell penetrates an egg cell.</li>\n  <li>A fetus attains humanity at some indecipherable point in-between.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>These differing beliefs are often the cause of conflict, and politics passions often exacerbate the conflict to the point of threats and violence. The issue with these various beliefs, aside from the conflict, is that the politically inclined tend to impose top-down mandates depending upon who is in power. In our modern political climate, extremes dictate public dialog, and the Overton window shifts. To compensate for this, the issue is periodically reframed to suit the political expediency of politicians.</p>\n<p>Republicans and the Democrats have dominated this debate for decades, since the days of Roe v. Wade. Each wants to impose a top-down mandate. Libertarians though, recognize that life is infinitely complex, and that individuals and circumstances are unique. Mixtures of individuals and circumstance may or may not produce the same results, therefore a mandate is both arbitrary and authoritarian.</p>\n<p>Granted, in the past libertarians have mirrored the larger debate, arguing between pro-choice and pro-life. I want to offer better way, one I believe to be consistent with our first principle. One applicable not just to this debate, but to any debate. If we shift our stance to 'prefer life', then we remain consistent with both individual principles, while also respecting the circumstances of other individuals. As with any other issue, we devote ourselves to preferring to preserve life, by all possible means, up to the point where another life is threatened.<br>\n<br>\nLogistically, a Prefer-life position needs a bit of work. Abortion has been subsidized to the point that it is many times less expensive than pro-life options. The overall opacity of our medical system, the disregard for the Hippocratic Oath, and the current snarl of legal variance are obstacles as well. Technologically, there is light at the end of the tunnel. Prefer-life embraces multiple options, as well as <em>additional options that will become available in the near future</em>:</p>\n<ul>\n  <li>Surrogacy.</li>\n  <li>Safe haven.</li>\n  <li>Adoption.</li>\n  <li>Stewardship.</li>\n  <li><em>Fetal transfer to human womb.</em></li>\n  <li><em>Fetal transfer to artificial womb.</em></li>\n</ul>\n<p>As I said, individuals are unique, and their circumstances may coincide, but always life presents new combinations. For nearly any condition, medical or not, these options may be viable. Whether reluctance, illness, rape, incest; if the fetal life can be preserved through some means, the option to do so should be available and affordable.</p>\n<p>In the rare instance when the pregnancy does present a medical threat to the life of the mother, abortion of the fetus might be employed. But, one hopes that to be an ever shrinking occurrence.</p>\n</html>",

If you agree with 80% of what someone says, that is your ally in this fight.\n\nThe first, best candidate I can think of is Larry Sharpe for governor of New York state. NYS is so crushed, so desperate, so taxed, and so regulated, that Larry and his campaign have been able to build a coalition there. More than 100,000 people leave New York state every year. Some of them leave by committing suicide. New York state is the least free state in the USA. So much so that people get out by any means they can think of. This is a disgrace.\n\nBut there is hope.
