| body | In the blink of an eye the day disappeared. The only thing left was the foggy darkness dimly illuminated by the light of insufficient lightbulbs. The sadness deepened. Where was the time? As if waking up suddenly with racing heartbeat from deep sleep only to discover that it is dark outside. A mirror of life in which memories shatter and slowly but surely death creeps in. |

| body | Starting my workday has never been easier! That is of course a lie. It is always hard for me to start. But writing a simple blog post a day keeps the pigdog (Schweinehund) away. I am in for a surprise. And this surprise is that although I am putting time and effort there are no guarantees that thins are going to improve. That's not surprising you might say. True, it is not a surprising realization but I'm still surprised every day it doesn't feel easier to be me. Don't get me wrong I am not wining about how hard my life is. I like my life and it is awesome but the challenge of sticking to the routine every day cannot be more inconsistent in its difficulty. Why is that? If I only knew... There are certainly some biological factors at play like sleep, eating and the like. But controlling for all the variables that could influence a good day is even more challenging than sucking it up and working, when you don't feel like working. Of course this is only when you are already in the trenches - demotivated and ready to turn on the TV and absentmindedly sink into some exhausting hammering of information. Modifying the biological factors of your daily routine is easy when you feel motivated. It is exciting to see that when you tweak some little aspect the nature of experience changes and life obtains a different flavor. Pushing yourself towards change might, however , deprive you of the pleasure of noticing the effects of little changes. It is effortful to push and it makes you insensitive to the little joys of noticing changes. The more we push the more difficult the task grows! Letting go and moving with the flow then? No, but kind of... Discipline is harsh, lack of it is even worse, but there seems to be no right answer to the amount of discipline required for a meaningful improvement. It all depends. Chance still rules our lives even though it might seem otherwise. This is the point of going with the flow perhaps. We make plans and attempt to follow them trough but never et discouraged if by chance we end up screwing up the plan. Adapting to the changing conditions of both environment and mood is crucial to cultivate the beginners mentality required for us to never give up on attempting to be better. |

"body": "Starting my workday has never been easier! That is of course a lie. It is always hard for me to start. But writing a simple blog post a day keeps the pigdog (Schweinehund) away. I am in for a surprise. And this surprise is that although I am putting time and effort there are no guarantees that thins are going to improve. That's not surprising you might say. \nTrue, it is not a surprising realization but I'm still surprised every day it doesn't feel easier to be me. Don't get me wrong I am not wining about how hard my life is. I like my life and it is awesome but the challenge of sticking to the routine every day cannot be more inconsistent in its difficulty. \nWhy is that? If I only knew... There are certainly some biological factors at play like sleep, eating and the like. But controlling for all the variables that could influence a good day is even more challenging than sucking it up and working, when you don't feel like working. Of course this is only when you are already in the trenches - demotivated and ready to turn on the TV and absentmindedly sink into some exhausting hammering of information.\nModifying the biological factors of your daily routine is easy when you feel motivated. \nThe more we push the more difficult the task grows! Adapting to the changing conditions of both environment and mood is crucial to cultivate the beginners mentality required for us to never give up on attempting to be better.",

| body | Stopping is impossible. This is because it does not depend on you! Events go on no matter our attempts to stop them. We are here and life is happening to us and around us and the extent to which we can influence it is minimal. Minimal does not mean insignificant especially when we account for the contagious nature of human activity: monkey see, monkey do. We can stop activity and then even though nothing else has stopped time slows down and centers around a present moment. The cessation of activity does not mean cessation of perception. We are still here and we are still vibrantly feeling the waves of existence. However, these perceptual experiences ground us when we do not attempt to interpret them and work with the meaning we ascribe them. Stopping action is a state of rest the equilibrium where our disbalances do not overthrow our center of gravity and send us spinning down. But how to stop? |

| body | ## Hiding at work and hiding from work Stevens realized that his job was meaningless the moment he arrived 30 minutes late and no one seemed to have noticed. All the colleagues were doing their designated tasks, the level of busyness at the office was close to regular, and nothing was burning or falling apart without Stevens. This was a pivotal moment in his life. From now on he decided to do as little as possible and not stand out whilst enjoying the freedom of spending his time at work however he liked it. He was either going to have to change jobs, or he was going to have the time of his life. It was worth the risk. Stevens became the ghost of the office staying late arriving early and at all times doing what he thought was the best task for his current interests. He was researching methods to improve his forehand, so that he could beat Johnson at the Saturday's routine tennis game. He was also chatting up girls online and trying his luck with some poker tournaments. Stevens was wasting time. He was hiding at work to do the things he thought were important. When in fact he was hiding from the true work that his life required. The fulfilling work of advancing in something and creating value for oneself and for others. Months past and ennui instilled Stevens' life. He was hardly motivated to get out of bed and dress, meanings disappeared and his life became an empty shell deprived of joy. Stevens had time. His time slipped. It was time to endure. And endurance brings you only so far. No strive no ambition. Life changed and the change came by inexplicably. The end. |

| body | Thoughts random, kitchen at rest, bed made and still emptiness. Humans live in small experiential boxes that make up the very personal psychological experiment of each one of us. Separation and unity are blurred concepts which cannot bring us forward. Ultimately everything one could meaningfully comment is abstracted and put into grammar and convention. Grammar is convention also so everything we are commenting is put in convention and convention. Let's make it even more obvious... Conventions determine language. This is going to be a confusing post for me. I just jot down spikes of mental activity that make it to my fingertips. How good could this get... But let it be a mess! I like messiness but only on occasion. What is there not to like: thoughts interrupting one another, objects on top of objects, things in front of other things without a reason for the one preceding the other. A mess is beautiful because it is a manifestation of an order beyond our boxed out categories. In a mess things don't fit and spill out of their shapes. It is exhilarating but also tiring. At some point the mixture of shapes and positions wins its own independence. This is when our faculties give up the categorization and frame the whole mess as a homogeneity - let's call it chaos. It has a name and now it can be catalogued and put on a shelf for everyone to find it when they need it. But chaos transcends the word we have for it. It is more fundamental than that. The word, however, helps us not to think about it while thinking about it. The word accustoms us to a meaning which we then substitute for the 'real thing' and that is why we can sleep at night. Go make a mess! |

| body | No end is a true end without simultaneously being a beginning. The truth about goals is that they are not ontologically different than everything else we encounter in life. It is just the tension in our heads which makes goals seem distinct from the means of their achievement. Just as a goal can be a goal a mean can become a goal if one would only change the timescale. Knowing that an end is an end gives us certainty and a point in time to which we can cling for support, thinking that once this even has occurred it would give meaning to all of the preceding actions. The belief in an end is false, but it is also useful. After the goal has been reached and the project has ended we move on to the next and have to find a way to do so. Life does not end with the achievement of some goal. This is the reason the belief is false. The utility of it comes in the form of motivational force - a drive to achieve. Without it movement would be meaningless. Movement is eventually bound to overcome the meaning an end can give it. This happens when the end is reached and we realize that it was just the beginning of something new. Showing us once again that conceptual thinking slices reality into orderly chunks which we use for coping with the unknown. And an end at the end... |

| body | Are zombies purely habitual beings? The answer requires understanding of zombies and of habits. Zombies pursue their goals (brains) incessantly even if their goals are hard to achieve. One can easily bate zombies and they will fall for it each time as if they don't see the causal implications of their pursuit. Habits are of the body. They are lived memory within our nervous system, so despite zombies being dead which presupposes no cognitive functioning their bodies are equipped with some motor capacities for action. That is why zombies can walk for instance. I guess it could be argued that zombies are purely acting out of habit. Is zombie agency more similar to human agency or to animal agency in this case? Perhaps the habits left after death and reanimated by the zombie are operating like instincts but without a evolutionary purpose. At least not for the zombie, but perhaps for the pathological cause of zombification i.e. the zombyfying condition. any thoughts? |

| body | "We are all patchwork, and so shapeless and diverse in composition that each bit, each moment, plays its own game. And there is as much difference between us and ourselves as between us and others" (Michel de Montaigne) Do I have an identity? This question is a matter of choice. An identity is assumed temporarily until it is broken to pieces by some eventuality. Then the patchwork begins. The broke pieces are carefully collected and arranged in a puzzle resembling picture. In the haste of the moment of destruction, however, some pieces get lost and the reassembled picture has holes in it. This is not a drama holes can be filled up and new pieces could be layered on top of the lost ones. This creates the depth of the patchwork. An identity breaks many times. Sometimes by accident sometimes through some rational means which point to a deficit we have been neglecting. Each break leads to new layering of new patches of identity and we end up with Bon Scotts Blue Jeans ("Ain't No Fun" by AC/DC). Cut |

| body | A thought left to itself will always move. Under no law of physic it will disperse and drag you with it in many directions. A thought left to itself will pass like a wave through the matter of consciousness. There is no beginning to thinking and only a testimonial end which for me is no experience. Beginnings and ends are just a matter of opinion though. When the film ends the dialogue begins. When the dialogue gets exhausted the silence begins. There is always something to follow. When this post ends... |

| body | Out of habit I ordered the usual. The waiter brought me my espresso and I gulped it in Italian fashion. I don't even like espressos, neither the taste, nor the fact that it made me jittery and feeling like I can electrocute someone with a bloodshot stare. Why did I order it? It's the usual. "So what" - you'd ask and I would not have an adequate response. Oh mighty habits, puppeteers of human action! So much suffering in the name of thoughtlessness. Thoughtfulness is what I run from and my habits are my treadmill. But praise the habits because they move us towards pleasure and away from pain. Until pleasure becomes pain in the context of existence where one is to find themselves trapped. Let habit guide you into prison. Only like that you could learn to trust the force capable of guiding you out of prison too. Go! |

| body | ## Have you ever thought about value and how peculiar it is? It is so funny to think that value is in the eye of the beholder. Nothing is intrinsically valuable. Value is always relational and the relation is between a person, their conditioning and some aspects of the world shared with others. Value is situational, transitory but also shared. If we consider ourselves to be an attentional locus with some tool for engaging with the world - a body, we fall in a dualistic thinking. We are existing through our bodies and the valuation of everything around us depends on the shape of the body. Usually that is a pretty strong filter for discerning between valuable and less valuable objects. Our body depends on the intake of certain things and those become valuable for us. The conditioning of a person has also a lot to do with their body. It is the way we walk, or more generally move. It is also in the way their thoughts move both on paper and in a conversation. The conditioning includes the habits of a person and it is a separate thing from the person only in theory. It is factually the underlying reality of that person and it is objectively more real than the person. This is because the conditioning can be manipulated from others. We can push our buttons so to speak and we can with a degree of certainty anticipate the responses of others. This is also why value is connected with the conditioning. The externality of value can be manifested in the shape of the things we value. It is the layer shared with others but which is also more distant than the self. This layer includes all the products and services in the world and is usually to be found in some sort of marketplace. Although the marketplace could be a metaphor for the whole sphere of objective possessions. When you go about your day appreciate that value is so nuanced and don't fall into rigidity! ### Enjoy! |

| body | Day 1 Why is it a day followed by a number it is hard to say. Perhaps my brain feels at ease when an orderly beginning is signified by a day and a number. Anyhow, I have never started something so significant before. Today is the day I write my observations that I have the urgency to share with the world. It is a self-imposed urgency since nothing about the things noticed is truly spectacular. At best my observations are to be read and forgotten. Observations: Writing is difficult. It is rewarding to admit this and to free yourself of the shame which inevitably comes when you consider the fact that some people write so much and don't even seem bothered by it. Writing is a hygienic process for the mind. It helps us crystalize thoughts and give them texture. But with any type of hygiene it requires discipline. Another observation I have is that it seems that today I only managed to observe one thing about writing and mention it above. This makes the title misleading because of the plural form of it. But this is why I am observing this here and writing it explicitly. It was far easier to write a second observation about it than just to edit the title. Which brings us to another point about writing. When something is written it stands with a sense of finality. It has been done it is on the paper. Editing requires confrontation with the past. Readjustment of the elements which are already given. It is painful to revise because the past needs to be revitalized in a present condition to be once again moldable. Leaving just like that! |
