Once I got up, I realized it had been quite a while since I last did my laundry, and the clothes were really piling up. When I have quiet moments like this, my mind usually drifts to the tech projects I've been working on lately. It's nice to just step back and think through how to approach a project without the pressure of a deadline. I slept afterwards.\n\nSince I'm still pretty new to this area, I don't really know the streets or the environment very well yet. The daily movement and the stress of commuting for IT can be a lot, but I just have to keep pushing through it. I spent most of the day handling my tasks at the workplace and getting more familiar with how things run. \n</p>\n\n<p>\nAfter finishing up at the workplace, I came back home and immediately went back to my data analytics learning. I'm trying to be consistent with this, so I didn't want to skip today. Since I already finished learning SQL, which I used for querying data from databases, I moved onto the next tools on my list.\n</p>\n\n<p>\nToday, I worked with Microsoft Excel and Tableau. It was interesting because SQL is mostly for pulling out raw data, but Excel and Tableau are where you actually arrange the data and make it look clean. I spent my time sorting out data in Excel and trying to build some simple charts and dashboards in Tableau. Between all the time I spend staring at laptop screens, working on CAD models, and coding, my eyes have been really going through it lately. I've been noticing some strain over the past few weeks, so I knew I couldn't ignore it anymore. Just like I thought, the doctor confirmed I needed glasses to help ease the strain. After the test, they told me to pick out a frame. Honestly, picking a frame was the hardest part because you have to find something that actually looks good on your face and feels comfortable. After trying on a couple of options, I finally found one I liked.\n</p>\n\n\n\n<p>\nAlong with the prescription glasses, the doctor also recommended some eye drops and drugs to help with the strain and keep my eyes properly lubricated. They told me I’d have to wait a while for them to fix the lenses into the frame, so I just chilled in the waiting room for a bit. After waiting for some time, they finally brought out the finished glasses and handed me my medications. The place was pretty full, and I met a few people already waiting in line. I didn't really mind, so I just took a seat, carried my phone, and waited for my turn. When it finally got to my turn and the barber finished making my hair, I felt way lighter and cleaner. The rain that fell yesterday made the weather so cold and chilled, the kind of weather that just makes you want to cover up and keep sleeping. But I had to move because of the workshop I had at the University of Ibadan. This workshop was actually organized by the place where I am doing my Industrial Training (SIWES), and it’s a big part of my IT experience. As an engineering student, I knew this digital fabrication stuff would be a big plus for me, so I forced myself out.\n</p>\n\n<p>\nThe stress started from my house. I had to take a very long walk just to reach the main road where I could get a bike. When I finally got to UI, I thought the walking was over, but no—I had to take another long trek again to get to the actual venue. By the time I arrived, I was already feeling it in my legs, but the workshop started almost immediately.\nWe were introduced to some really cool machines like the laser cutter and the Bantam milling machine. The best part was that we didn't just stand there and look; we actually got to use them to make some things.
