      "body": "Somewhere in the midst of your elementary years, your teacher pulled out a colorful diagram and taught you and your peers about the water cycle. The lesson likely left you with this general concept:Water falls from the clouds in the sky, in the form of rain. The water then evaporates before condensing into clouds once again, completing the cycle. I don’t want to blame teachers but I believe this is where the misconception of infinite water comes from. People leisurely waste water because they believe that it will simply return them in a matter of moments. Today, I’ll add the details your teacher left and hopefully to join water conservation efforts.\n\nChances are you use groundwater from an aquifer. An aquifer is essentially an underground lake. Although we can’t see the water beneath our feet, groundwater accounts for about 1/2 of household water use worldwide. When we extract water from aquifers, we are basically hoping that the aquifer will recharge(be refilled with water) by the next time we got the well. As you can probably imagine, water gets into aquifers by seeping through the soil after precipitation events. As soils tend to vary greatly by region, the average movement of water through soil in the United States is between 10 and 1200mm/yr. For all my fellow Americans, that amounts to between 0.4 to 47in/yr. If you live in an area like Portland, Oregon where the aquifer lies about 30 meters(about 100ft) below the surface, the best case scenario would be water reaching the aquifer in about three years. Keep in mind that this process can take much longer depending on the type of soil, amount of rainfall, and depth of the aquifer.\n\nFor that little bit of doubt hidden away in the back of your mind, let’s look at the Ogallala Aquifer. This massive aquifer underlies parts of Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas, and Wyoming, with a total surface area of 174,000 square miles. Unfortunately, the Ogallala Aquifer has seems its water level drop off a cliff.\n\nhttps://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=4efeSA_0ie0U3o800\nTexas A&M University\nWith the maximum water decline recorded being 256ft, imagine the time it will take for all of that water to return. You may be wondering how this could be happening. In the words of Michon Scott of the National Oceanic And Atmospheric Association(NOAA), “producers are extracting water faster than it is being replenished, which means that parts of the Ogallala Aquifer should be considered a nonrenewable resource.” In simpler terms, if we continue to use water at a faster rate than it is naturally replaced, we will run out water as the aquifers dry up.\n\nNow here comes the million dollar question: Can this happen to you? (Drumroll please) The answer is yes. I highly recommend you take a bit of time to research your area because the belief that Africa is the only continent facing water stress couldn’t be more untrue.       "body": "In today's world, you can't go five minutes without hearing about cryptocurrency. I can't explain why but it's always caught my interest. I found this site which I figured would give me a bit of free crypto as well as the opportunity to discuss with people who know way more about crypto than myself. With that being said, would anyone be willing to help answer a few of my questions about crypto because every other site just belittles me and labels me a FUD(fear, uncertainty, doubt)? If so, I'd truly appreciate it.\n\nFirstly, how can you identify a crypto scam? I believed in BitConnect due to its sheer size. I figured that nothing that big could be a scam. Clearly, I was wrong. What signs can you look for to determine if a crypto project is legit?\n\nSimilarly, how much of a factor is price manipulation? I've seen a number of NFT projects go \"to the moon\" only for it to be yet another rug pull. Have any cryptos been stabilized or will I have to spend every day wondering if I'll be stuck holding the bag?\n\nLastly, how secure is crypto?       "body": "As a new member of the soccer community (I apologize to all those around the world but I'm an American through and through), I was told I made a mistake when choosing to support Tottenham Hotspur. However, all of the summer signings have filled me with excitement and anticipation for the upcoming season. \n\nWith Matchweek 1 in the books, my excitement, which continues to grow, seems justified. Although I am ecstatic with a 4-1 victory there are also some things that make me worry. Let's start with the positives first. \n\nLast season, Heung-min Son solidified his place among the greats as a world-class after winning the Premier League Golden Boot. However, today   Dejan Kulusevski was knocking on that same door. My pick for Man of the Match due to his sheer unplayability. The way he could maneuver through tight spaces was a joy to watch. I was personally surprised by his willingness to use both feet as he had shown a preference for his left foot. Should Kulusevski continue this form throughout the season, the Son-Kane-Kulusevski trio could be one we talk about for years to come.\n\nRyan Sessegnon also looked amazing today. For years, my fellow Spurs fans have jumped on Sessegnon's back, wishing to see the attacking he showed in his days at Fulham. Today we got just that. Kyle Walker-Peters had his hands full as Sessegnon seemed to be motivated by the arrival of Perišić.\n\nBecause I cannot give every player their own section, the final two I'll touch on today are Emerson Royal and Clément Lenglet. I've always held the belief that Royal received too much hate and at times served as a scapegoat for fans. Is he as gifted offensively as Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold? Of course not. But as he showed today, he can be useful in the attack as he was able to grab an assist and force an own goal after making a clever run(although it should be said that Mohammed Salisu, the Southampton defender responsible, should've done better). Of all the signings this summer, the one that excited me the most was Clément Lenglet. For those newer to the soccer scene than me, Lenglet's recent spell at Barcelona has seen him labeled a terrible, mistake-prone defender(to put it kindly). Maybe my ignorance will shine through in the following sentences but I figured that switching from a back two to a back three would help Lenglet in that regard. Although his speed nor acceleration will improve at Tottenham, the distance he's required to cover will be greatly reduced. Furthermore, the passing skill could be exactly what we need. Ben Davies has won the heart of the fans but in less than ten minutes, Lenglet made a dangerous pass to Son which Davies failed to produce in over 80 minutes. Passes such as this catch my eye because so often there were complaints about our midfield duo being unable or unwilling to move the ball forward. Perhaps Lenglet could be the solution to this problem.\n\nMy biggest worries are the team's lack of cohesion and Cristian Romero's calmness. I understand that the Conte error is relatively new and we did manage to hit the back of the net four times. However, there were a number of times when a pass when straight to a Southampton man which shows a clear lack of understanding between teammates. With the team traveling to Stanford Bridge next week, these mistakes may be swiftly and harshly punished by a strong Chelsea side. \n\nRomero is without a doubt our best defender. This means that he needs to be in the team for as many games as possible. The tackle on Romeu in the 65th minute was unnecessary in my opinion. How the referee didn't show Romero a yellow card is beyond me. Should Romero make a similar blunder, the team could be significantly hurt as he is forced to watch from the bench.\n\nAll in all, I am extremely happy with today's performance. Now I turn to you. How far do you think Spurs will go this season? Do you think we can finally capture a major trophy? I look forward to hearing from you as I have a lot to learn about the beautiful game.",
