bodyYou are correct when you said it doesn't have magical powers. Unfortunately no diet really does. It would be awesome if there was a little blue pill that you could take to make all health problems vanish and you could reach all of your fitness goals but, until that day happens, the fitness community will continue to do it the tried-and-true method...Hard work! :) There are hundreds of diets out there that work really well it just depends on the goal :) In my opinion, every person is different and every diet plan needs to reflect that!

body### Everyone starts their journey same Everyone embarking on their goal to lead a healthier and more fit life starts out with the desire to become better, through effective exercise and nutrition. In my previous writing I’ve focused a lot more on the nutritional aspect of becoming more fit without giving a lot of attention to the actual exercise portion. Today I’m going to give you my 3 most important principles for finding and maintaining an effective workout routine. Hopefully they can help you on your journey to lead a more happy healthy life! http://wallpapers-and-backgrounds.net/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/workout-full-hd-wallpaper_1_1600x900.jpg ### Progressive Overload This is just a fancy way of saying that your workouts should gradually get harder over time. There are tons of different ways to accomplish this. If you like to lift weights you can gradually work up to heavier weights, or you could even add in more sets and reps with the same weights. If weights aren't your thing and you like to run, you could choose to run, farther, longer, or even faster.It’s important to increase the difficulty of your workouts, because as you make progress your workouts will gradually become easier, so in order to continue to make progress you need to make sure you make them harder as you get stronger/faster/more conditioned. https://gearandgrit.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/Progressive-Overload-Graph.jpg ### Autoregulation Another overly fancy term I know. This one just means that you should have the ability to adjust the difficulty of your workouts based on how you feel that day. As a college student I spend plenty of nights up till 3 A.M and awake at 7 the next morning. On these days it would be difficult for me to really push myself hard, so I make sure to not kill myself in the gym if I’m not feeling it. The flip side of this, however, is that on days where you’re feeling great, don’t be afraid to really kick it up a notch and push yourself. Why is this one bigger than the others? Of all the crazy diets out there I don't think I've ever encountered one fully shunning both fruits and vegetables. It is not the carbs that make people fat, it is the overeating of delicious foods like pizza, pasta and french fries. Almost anything that is over-consumed has the potential to be bad. Carbs are no exception, but labeling them as evil just because overconsuming them is bad makes water, medicine, vitamins, and literally all food bad as well. # How should I be structuring my diet? the best diet is the one you can stick to for the rest of your life. The one that makes you feel and look your best without severely restricting yourself or taking away from other aspects of your life. I personally like the idea of an 80/20 rule. This means eating 80 percent "healthy" whole foods like lean meats, whole grains fruits, and veggies and indulging in moderation for your other 20 percent. Personally I like to track my calories all week and stay in check but eat one of my favorite foods like pizza or a burger and fries once a week by eating a little less for my other meals to make room in my diet to fit it in.
