Thanks for the honesty.\n\nI'm a new user, and I was excited at first to try this out. But I've been here a few weeks now and I am getting the impression that this place is pretty dead.\n\nIt's tricky business when the main selling point of a platform is the money-making, not the content or the relationships. This taints everything from the get-go, because it attracts a wave of people whose main motivation is money. I figured there must be a norm here, and I wanted my posts to fit with that norm, whatever it was.\n\nI tried to follow the advice. Which was, mainly, pick a topic and stick to it, and provide massive \"value\" to everyone. Like, LiveJournal-style. (Remember LiveJournal?)\n\nI write about specific topics elsewhere. It's a smart tactic if you want to grow an audience and monetize. But I don't want to do that here.\n\nInstead, I'm eager to have a little place on the web to write random stuff, from my own perspective, because I haven't done that in a while. (Probably not since LiveJournal, now that I think of it.) I miss the *nourishment* of it, if you know what I mean.
