      "body": "How to drop your life and move to a foreign country in 30 days…..\n\n“The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page” - Saint Augustine\n\nDo you read enough? Not for your brain but for you soul. I believe traveling is soul food. You ingest through your eyes, ears, mouth and hands and digest through your mind, body and soul. The world has something to give and you can not receive it standing still. \n\nI have been living in Los Angeles with my girlfriend, Julia (@its_juliarose), for about 4 or 5 months now and we are ready to leave. Los Angeles is a great place but just not a place to live. This soul sucking environment has Julia and I drowning mentally. We would usually go on a two or three day camping trip to get away but that wasn’t enough this time. We did not want to cover up the problem but solve it.  So we decided to leave, for Bali. Crazy? Yes. But living? Hell yeah. \n\nBali is a small island located in Southeast Asia. Bali is one of Indonesia’s 17,000 islands. Yeah, 17,000 islands. Julia and I depart August 1st with one way tickets to the rest of our lives. We are both fearful but you know what scares us even more? Being in your 20s and standing still. So here is my guide to dropping your entire life and moving to a foreign country.\n\n1) Store it….\n\tMoving to a foreign land? If there is one thing I have learned from traveling abroad, it is pack light. You must travel with essentials only. You may ask, “What do I do with the rest of my stuff?” Well you need to store it. Hopefully your parents live close or you have a friend with a big garage. In our case, we have neither. Storage units are extremely popular and easy to find. I suggest avoiding storage centers located in cities and looking outside major cities. This will save you up to 75% a month. Example (Los Angeles, California units are about $150 - $250 for an average size unit (5x15). Bakersfield, California (2 hours outside Los Angeles) $40 - $80 monthly for the same size unit. \n\n2) Sell it….\n\tThinking about moving, you want to save as much money as possible while trying to make as much money as possible. Looking around the room, Julia and I realized we had a bunch of items we could sell and save room on storage. We could cut costs on the storage unit while making some cash for the trip! Oh yeah, this includes our 2015 Jeep Wrangler. Using Craigslist, OfferUp, Facebook Marketplace, and Carmax, we managed to get the job done. All of these tools were extremely useful. \n\n3) Book it…..\nTime to book those one way tickets! After carefully searching the web and looking for the best deals. Priceline.com seemed to have the best deals on airfare. A one way ticket from Los Angeles to Denpasar runs about $600 per person. This flight offers the option to check a bag for free as well. The flight and travel time is 40 plus hours though. So be prepared to travel a long time. Now, where to sleep? Looking into accommodation in Southeast Asia, Airbnb is a travelers heaven! You are able to quickly search the island finding the best deals on some pretty amazing locations. You can find great places to stay all over Southeast Asia for around $10 - $30 a night depending on what you are looking for! And trust me, $30 a night gets you a lot! Julia and I will be staying in an Airbnb for the first two weeks of our stay in Bali. After that, we used the power of email to team up with multiple resorts, hotels and villas on bartering complimentary stay for promotion. Yes it helps we have a decent amount of followers on Instagram but if you work at it, you can make it happen! I will post another guide on how to obtain complimentary stay for promotion. Also, we teamed up with a local travel agency, Bali Buddies, in helping us land accommodation, tours, activities and travel within the island of Bali. The right travel agency can be a big help. Travel agencies know the way! Just be careful and choose the right one.\n\n\n4) Leave it and Love it….\n\tLeaving life as you know it behind is challenging. Leaving our beloved dog Bambi with Julia’s grandmother was hard. Leaving friends, family, and lifestyle behind is going to be difficult but necessary in chasing your dream. Los Angeles is an amazing city with boundless potential but it was not home for Julia and I. We want to leave it all behind and see this beautiful earth. After Bali, we will travel to the Philippines, Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Turkey and many more.
