| body | https://cdn.psychologytoday.com/sites/default/files/blogs/98322/2014/05/151149-154411.jpeg Well, herein lies the question we all ponder the answer to internally each day. Each having our own differentiating aspects of how this applies to us in our daily mentality. What is your biggest fear? You know, the one that keeps popping up, keeping you up at night, constantly striking a chain reaction of nervous impulses to anxiety and even depression. Whether it be fear of inadequacy or too much expectations on your plate. Fear of dying alone without love. Fear of wasting away without ever finding your purpose in life. Fear of being forgotten when you are gone. Fear of financial obligations. Fear of not being able to break a vicious cycle. Fear of never being able to get out of the funk. It doesn't matter what it is, because as humans we have an innate ability to procure ourselves that our internal fears depict our movement, or lack thereof, through life. Fear is often paralyzing, and it starts by attacking your mind. Constant disbelief that you can not conquer this fear continues to build internally and eventually permeates further into your physical realm of life. Before we know it, we are what we call, "fucking stuck" aka "the funk". Somehow this fear, which is circumstantial, but also independent to our own psyche, tries to inhibit how we live in a negative way, but I am here to tell you it is the exact opposite. Fear introduced to your unique journey through life isn't random at all, it's exactly how it is supposed to be. You see, we will ALL face adversity in this life, what truly matters is how we respond. Whatever your fear is ... I want you to embrace it. It's yours. Own it. Stare it right back in the face and acknowledge that it exist, but you aren't going anywhere. The next step is the most difficult, but it will set you apart from the majority of people who let fear depict their lives. Instead of looking at your fear as a paralyzing deterrent, look at it as your most precious source of fuel. A symbiotic relationship with your deepest fear actually being the biggest fuel to your "Why" in this life. You must see, just as the body builds muscle... it is only as strong as it needs to be. Meaning, your muscles will only build when faced with resistance and adversity, pushing back against this force builds muscle and makes us strong. Now, if you don't introduce your muscles and body to any resistance at all, you will not gain muscle. We are only as strong as we need to be. Remember that and say it out loud with me, " We are only as strong as we need to be." Similar to a body builder taking a pre-workout to get fueled up for a pump... you already guessed it... your Fear is your pre-workout in life. Recognize it, Utilize it, Push back, and Build your strength. You can conquer anything and everything once you sync your body and mind together and realize obstacles placed in our path along our journey aren't meant to make you turn around. No my friend, they are put their as building blocks for you to chip away at and stack on top of each other, creating the optimal You. I have faith in you, whatever you are battling, you can, and you will conquer it once you accept this mentality. Matter of fact, you will come out stronger each and every time you encounter an obstacle (fear) and overcome it. Yes, I am speaking directly to you. Now I want you to speak to yourself, speak to your deepest, darkest, most secretive fear. Say " thank you" and Embrace it. It's yours, now go own it. https://pics.me.me/once-you-become-fearless-life-becomes-limitless-nick-matthews-fear-25616071.png -the realist |

"The Energy of the Mind is the Essence of Life." -Aristotle Thus, bringing me back in full circle ( bet you didn't think that would happen) to the initial blog post I wrote almost a year ago. I am sure everyone who reads this will agree when I say, " Shit Happens...It's Life." We all have a set plan or agenda forecasted in our brain banks that hardly ever comes to fruition exactly as we planned, if at all. This venture being one of those for me. I kept thinking about creating some content for opinions and discussion over the past weeks, hell even months at this point. Things would pop in my head and I'd get some motivation to elaborate, but wouldn't fulfill it. I knew I created this account and searching, quitting, searching, and finding the damn private keys, I finally logged on red-eyed and about to fall asleep after a tumultuous day in the Cryptosphere. Then I saw " ...I am the Realist..." thinking what the f....and !BaM! ..and I was hit with that quick aforementioned jolt-like feeling. A sudden wave of exhilaration and surprise ran through me as I began to read further. It came back to me and I began to remember writing it. I smiled as I found myself back in the present towards the end of the piece. "Kickass Kid" is the reaction I first felt, albeit was only about a year ago, but I feel it was as on point to this day of what I am about, and trying to achieve. Discussion is about open doors, respect, commonalities, indifferences, acknowledgment, understanding. Disagreement is a part of discussion. For discussion to be productive, it usually does so in finding agreements within those disagreements. This is known as understanding. So in order for there to be a positive outcome, we generally must first go through the area of disagreement and indifference to therefore understand where each individual is coming from (and why). What determines a positive outcome of a discussion isn't the means of achieving one level of the spectrum over another. The means of productivity are directly correlated with the level of accumulated understanding through varying degrees of agreement and disagreement within. We are all aware of how far off simple discourse has gone these days. It is like we have as humans have been set completely off the tracks or for better terms "re-programmed" to lack a common ability to critically and analytically think, communicate, associate, question and ultimately understand one another. That is the over arching goal throughout this digital penmanship journey. Not only to create content over opinion, enlightenment, and interest topics at hand, but to create a spectrum of that described. Somewhere where disagreeing is not only allowed but highly encouraged, so that agreement and understanding can fall into place as well. A part of actual discussion with intent on productivity is accountability. Each participant within has to be accountable for their own ego and emotional structure. A lot of the times, because we are human (and have been programmed to a degree) we are partial to let the ego dictate the course of discussion. That is especially true once disagreement occurs. We have a way of succumbing to the emotional response, which then sparks a chain reaction to the Ego, the Id, and the Super Ego as well. This all directly interferes with the ability for disagreements to be understood and productive measures of discussion thereafter to occur. That is why Accountability by each willing participant is important, and that is why you will hear people say," leave your feelings at the front door." Because naturally when someone doesn't agree with something you hold to be truth, your internal emotions and nervous system responds a certain way. Somewhat comparable to a defense mechanism in our predisposed fight or flight mentality. Here we invite those illicit responses; with the intention to harbor and control any emotional dictatorial influences that arise so that discourse and discussion can continue. Ultimately with the goal of higher understanding to occur. I am sure I will post pieces that are unwaveringly biased to my own emotional appeal and interest at times. I am human just as you are, but I will do so with whatever ground I stand upon transparent and open for disagreement. So without further ado, let's agree to disagree on some shit. Excited for a new decentralized platform, with intention to begin an open forum for flow of thought and dialogue on certain issues both important and not. A place to gather and have open disagreements for the sake of understanding one another without fear of being dragged into today's modern bullshit PC debauchery. Skip to present... Don't you love it when you wander across old life memorabilia and creations specific to you. You could hate some too I suppose. Point being, when you find old shit that you did in what-seems-to-be-a-whole-different-previous-lifetime- it's like Bam! That split second upon discovery slams your mind back in time. When we happen to stumble across these things, most of the time it's random as hell or you had been looking or thinking about it months prior. Mostly though, it's random fuckery. I always find these moments somewhat euphoric, exhilarating and simultaneously self-reflective. Yours Truly, - therealist |

"body": "11 months ago I embarked on my very first steemit post. Excited for a new decentralized platform, with intention to begin an open forum for flow of thought and dialogue on certain issues both important and not. A place to gather and have open disagreements for the sake of understanding one another without fear of being dragged into today's modern bullshit PC debauchery. \n\nSkip to present...\n\nDon't you love it when you wander across old life memorabilia and creations specific to you. You could hate some too I suppose. Point being, when you find old shit that you did in what-seems-to-be-a-whole-different-previous-lifetime- it's like Bam! That split second upon discovery slams your mind back in time. A research paper from undergrad, a love-letter from prepubescent peaks and valley's, a baseball glove, a hairbrush, a blog from 11 months ago, a fucking drawing of a dinosaur, kinda more a pickle with bird legs but still, if you can relate, you are already with me. When we happen to stumble across these things, most of the time it's random as hell or you had been looking or thinking about it months prior. Mostly though, it's random fuckery. \n\nI always find these moments somewhat euphoric, exhilarating and simultaneously self-reflective. It seems that I can slip into the moment to enjoy it for whatever it is or was (or wasn't) that is still consciously awake in my memory. Present, as if I am still the participant just in a different form, glancing through a slightly different lens. Then SNaP! Back into \"reality\" of the current moment and there is a period of reflecting upon myself between the self-memory state experienced to the actual current self experience. The now. I have a buzz through my collective conscious on what that memory in time served me. How did it influence me in the current? Or did it? And usually I find a subtle common ground and it all comes together for that brief moment, and I try to be thankful for the entire experience even if it brings pain. Thus being euphoric and self-reflective when random, weird, and unprovoked anomaly type shit like that occurs. \n\nThe mind is our most powerful utility as humans. We have the ability to really tap into certain realms of depth that I believe the term \" out of body experience\" prevails from. Being open and in tune with our mind, thoughts, and how we feel is key to a buncha weird and cool shit during our short and brief experience on earth.\n\nDo you ever have those random \" sha-banG-whoA-fuck\" moments, and if so how spot on or completely opposite is your reaction than mine?\n\n Again, the brain and mind is amazing and has so many varieties of reaction. It is what makes us who were are. I encourage you (..if you haven't already) to let the energy flow through you entirely and have some time to practice being self-reflective and aware of the sheer connection with your body, mind, the universe an all the energy she encompasses within. I am learning, and growing, and breathing and evolving daily. Which I will drop in tidbits to help encourage my voice of reason via experiences and reflection. I'm just like you. I accept I know absolutely nothing. But I am curious as shit to continue to look, observe, and analyze my experiences throughout my journey. Whether they are first hand or I am taking bits an pieces from around me, it's all about accumulation. \n\n\n\n\"The Energy of the Mind is the Essence of Life.\" \n -Aristotle \n\n\nThus, bringing me back in full circle ( bet you didn't think that would happen) to the initial blog post I wrote almost a year ago.\n\n I am sure everyone who reads this will agree when I say, \" Shit Happens...It's Life.\" We all have a set plan or agenda forecasted in our brain banks that hardly ever comes to fruition exactly as we planned, if at all. \n\nThen I saw \" ...I am the Realist...\" thinking what the f....and !BaM! ..and I was hit with that quick aforementioned jolt-like feeling. A sudden wave of exhilaration and surprise ran through me as I began to read further. It came back to me and I began to remember writing it. I smiled as I found myself back in the present towards the end of the piece. \"Kickass Kid\" is the reaction I first felt, albeit was only about a year ago, but I feel it was as on point to this day of what I am about, and trying to achieve. \n\nDiscussion is about open doors, respect, commonalities, indifferences, acknowledgment, understanding. The future is moving at such a rapid pace right before our very eyes with such a vast expanse and wide variety of technological advancements each and every day. What a wonderful time to be alive am I right?! Yet on the contrary, the powers at be have pushed our personal opinions, thoughts, voices, and mindsets further into each corner of popular demand. That is where @therealist enters the spectrum. Being one that even from a young age naturally made a habit of not abiding by the rules to hierarchal demands I find it just and almost called for to create a page that can speak on multiple viewpoints that may be looked as disruptive or "frowned upon" by the hand the feeds on other social media platforms. Censorship sure is a mother-fucker. Which generally leads to a one-way thought process. Or at least the idea that you have "broken the rules" comes into play with this censorship controlling our opinions by reprimanding opposing viewpoints. As we know from history, that is not how progress is made, and that is not how opposing viewpoints are reasonably heard and debated upon. We now live in an age where we have become so quick to label, judge, stereotype, call names, wage war, physically harm, and in worst case scenarios murder one another simply over hidden ideologies. Rather than be addressed as humans, and not irrational, emotionally charged creatures blinded by the rage of common misunderstandings. Welcome to the future. Fucking amazing right? All these years, and this is how our brains are responding? It's outrageous. I know what you are thinking at this point, so I will go ahead and address it. I said I am not a leftist nor a rightest, I am @therealist. What I am conveying is that I am actually, to someone, somewhere, to some degree leaning hard left or hard right I am sure. And that is 100% okay, because I do have views that cross all aisles, paths, walkways, rivers, valleys, universes and galaxies. I am here to speak based on what I view as ultimate truth or in some cases ultimate lies. So yes, you will find perspectives, questions and read articles and opinion pieces that will vary extremely across a wide variety of topics and yes, most likely "offend " someone in each instance. Again, that is 100% okay. Because as adults in the 21st century we are allowed to disagree to such an extent within a certain topic, opinion or material that lines may be crossed and one may indeed feel the need to state that such has occurred. That's part of life and disagreements. But that's exactly what they are, disagreements. The notion that just because someone gets "offended" that the argument or debate is now over in favor of the "offended" is completely asinine. Now I must disclaim the hippy in me will absolutely never ever under any circumstances condone the physical harm to anyone that is defenseless and/or non-deserving of said ass kicking. As mentioned before, far too many times again and again we are seeing senseless and idiotic acts of violence committed on the sheer fuel of hysteria by the ill-informed who lack of ability to vocalize those feelings or be receptive to others. So join in on what I am sure will be a roller-coaster of topics and conversations throughout my journey here on steemit, because frankly a lot of shit these days does grind my gears Peter Griffin style. I come from a good hearted place where everyone human and living creature on this earth deserves the ability to live amicably and enjoy their journey, for it is short and it is theirs alone and life is beautiful. But nature as we know it can be a violent force that changes her mind as she pleases. Like when a storm engulfs a landmass to the tune of chaos and destruction. Or when a gorgeous pride of lions goes from an entire day of bathing in the sun and nursing their young; to in an instant strategically stalking, attacking, and gnawing at their prey with jaws clinched tight and dripping of blood until the last breath has been taken. We must always take a step back to realize that we too are a part of this intertwining web of creatures, nature, the world and the universe by large. I hope to engage with people, thoughts, and minds from ALL walks of life throughout the entire globe. To set the stage for different opinions to actually see where the other is coming from on heated topics, rather than just immediately give in to sensation and emotional responses when confronted with conflicting viewpoints. Who knows, you might even change your mind on a thing or two here and there. I know I have a lot throughout my journey, and that is 100% okay. -oh, and a disclaimer to each and every futuristic label, stereotype, accusation or dumb shit in general thrown against me or anyone else that shares opinions and feedback on material. http://www.awesomelyluvvie.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/nofucksgiven.jpg -therealist |
